The Democratic presidential candidates will go head-to-head tonight during the party’s first debate in Las Vegas. Frontrunners Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and the other candidates will share their perspectives on issues that include the Trans-Pacific trade deal, income disparities within our country, healthcare coverage, and other pressing matters. Despite being scrutinized for her email server scandal, Clinton is leading in the polls with 46 percent in her favor, compared to 27 percent for Sanders. Former Virginia senator Jim Webb, former Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee, and former governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley will also participate in the debate. Chrissy Teigen & John Legend are Expecting

Last month on her daytime show “FABlife,” model Chrissy Teigen opened up about her struggle to conceive a child. Yesterday, she took to Instagram to announce that she and husband, singer John Legend, are expecting a baby. She posted a photo of her and Legend with the caption, “John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!” Legend also joined in on the excitement and posted a tweet that said, “We’re pregnant!” Read more.


Hip-Hop Producer Fatally Shot in Brooklyn

Eric McKinney, a hip-hop producer who was close to rapper Fabolous, was fatally shot this weekend in Brooklyn. According to reports, McKinney was sitting in his black Jeep Wrangler at Ashland Place and Fulton St. when a gunman opened fire. He tried to drive himself to the hospital, but ended up crashing his car in Fort Greene. He died shortly after when paramedics rushed him to Brooklyn Hospital Center. “My brother. Love Forever,” wrote Fabolous on Instagram. This isn’t the first time tragedy has struck the family. McKinney’s brother was fatally stabbed at an NYC nightclub in 2007. Read more.
