President Obama will visit New Orleans on Thursday to review federal rebuilding efforts more than four years after Hurricane Katrina, the White House just announced.

The president will visit a charter school and host a town hall, the announcement said, “demonstrating his strong commitment to Gulf Coast rebuilding and recovery.”

It is his first trip to New Orleans as president, though he has made at least five visits in recent years. The photo is from 2007.
