i’m growing less concerned about the issues and more concerned about how many people today are ridiculously stupid. not just ignorant, but seemingly fighting to fit into society by remaining dumb. many of you are coming up with all these biblical/law of nature arguments to justify the plain and simple fact that YOU JUST DON’T LIKE HOMOSEXUALITY. because naturally…there are asexual (Cnemidophorus neomexicanus) and homosexual (from primates to dragonflies) species of animals. homosexuality has been around since sexuality began…so stop being so damn stupid. if homosexuality is such a major sin and all you biblical scholars are obviously all about obeying god, how many laws are there against lying? how about we organize some hate groups for liars? how about some laws against committing adultery? where are the laws against letting liars get married? let’s condemn all those that aren’t honoring their parents…where are the laws against that? biblically you idiots can’t even keep it consistent across the board. now let’s say no homosexuals are allowed to ever marry…will the divorce rate go down? are heteros keeping the sanctity of marriage holy? is it safe now? are all the str8s being faithful to all of their hubbys and wifeys? get real. the bible was packaged together by the same people that brought you slavery you…how bright is it to adopt the same god and belief system of the people that were beating and depriving you?! so…like i said…the fact of the matter is gay rights is a civil rights matter and it can be compared to the black civil rights struggle because of the injustice. black people got hanged, dragged, burned; gays have been getting slaughtered for over 1000yrs – burned at the stake, shot, etc. stop thinking that somebody’s trying to diminish the horrific acts committed to blacks…rather look at the horrific acts being committed also to homosexuals. but still…the fact that many of you can’t understand something THAT simple is what worries me more than gay rights and the black civil rights movement combined.

All I have to say is colored water fountains, hoses, dogs, little girls being burnt alive in church buildings, Jim Crow, and Black Codes. The persecution of current homosexuals doesn’t even come close.

It used to be illegal for interracial couples to marry. The same people using the Bible to support their claims now, did it then. Even high-profile celebrities were kept from even dating outside their race. It wasn’t until the aptly named, “Loving vs. Virginia” trial, that THIS quote was made.

“Marriage is one of the “basic civil rights of man,” fundamental to our very existence and survival…. To deny this fundamental freedom on so unsupportable a basis as the racial classifications embodied in these statutes, classifications so directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment, is surely to deprive all the State’s citizens of liberty without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.”

You know what the argument AGAINST this case was? You don’t get to choose who you marry.

Homosexuality is STILL punishable by death in seven countries: Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

In the U.S. and Europe, “Violent hate crimes against LGBT people are notable because they tend to be especially brutal, “an intense rage is present in nearly all homicide cases involving gay male victims”. It is rare for a victim to just be shot, he is more likelely to be stabbed multiple times, mutilated, and strangled. “They frequently involved torture, cutting, mutilation… showing the absolute intent to rub out the human being because of his (sexual) preference”.”

In 1999, in Cape Town, South Africa, a gay bar was bombed.

Only an ignorant person would assume that gays haven’t had the types of treatment blacks have had, simply because not all of it took place in the U.S.

The point is that ANY time one person’s personal opinion prohibits another from doing something that is neither harmful to himself or others, it is a violation of their individual civil rights. The fact that your views are one way or the other on gay lifestyles, and gay marriages should not impact on whether two people can share the same pros and cons of a legal marriage. People are people period. And none of you, when it all boils down, has anything to say about the immortal soul of anyone but yourself.
