Actor Justin Martin can kiss his squeaky clean Disney image goodbye after appearing in court on Tuesday as follow-up to his 2015 arrest in Massachusetts.

According to TMZ, Martin was arrested in Boston back in 2015 after getting into a shootout with local police. Martin and another armed man reportedly ran away from the scene when authorities arrived after responding to the sound of gunfire. A chase ensued, with Martin reportedly pointing his gun at officers, but not firing. He was then arrested, pled guilty, and was released on bail.

He was sentenced to 18 months in jail on Tuesday. Once he completes his jail sentence, he will be required to adhere to the terms of a year-long probation, which includes no alcohol or drug consumption and staying away from where the incident occurred. The 18-month sentence was on the lighter end of the spectrum, as prosecutors were initially aiming for a 3-year stint.

Before his legal troubles, Martin was on the fast track in Hollywood. He starred in the 2008 Disney channel original movie High School Musical 3 alongside Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, appeared with superstar Denzel Washington in the 2012 film Flight, starred with Jamie Foxx in 2009’s The Soloist, and also in the 2008 film The Express.

After sentencing, Justin gave a statement to TMZ“I have matured a great deal in the past year and had to learn some hard lessons because of my actions.” He added, “I look forward to moving past this time in my life and getting back to my career.”
