New numbers suggest a strong lead in key states for Hillary Clinton. Quinnipiac University’s latest poll shows Clinton surged ahead of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump in Colorado, Iowa, and Virginia. Virginia showed the greatest lead, with Clinton at 45 percent and Trump at 34 percent. In Colorado, Clinton is ahead ten points, 49 percent to 39 percent. Iowa proved a tight race, as Clinton and Trump were close to one another in a three-point margin: 44 to 47 percent. Read more.


Two SC Teens Remain In Jail After Fatally Shooting 45-Year-Old Man Who Stopped To Help Them

Deon Antonio Frasier, 17, and Michael Odell Anthony Dupree-Tyler, 19, remain behind bars after a bond hearing on Tuesday night in relation to the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Good Samaritan, Chadwick Garrett. The two teens are accused of shooting and killing Garrett after he pulled over to help the teens dig their car out of a ditch for $20. Once the deed was finished and Garrett inquired about the money, police say Frasier pulled out a gun and fatally shot Garrett. Both Frasier and Dupree-Tyler have been charged with murder. Frasier also faces an additional weapons charge. Read more.


Grandfather of Milwaukee Police Shooting Victim Says Man Suffered From Mental Illness

Syville Smith‘s grandfather, William Brookins, alleged Smith suffered from chronic mental illness and carried a gun for protection. “He was afraid for his life,” Brookins said. “He was concerned about his safety and surviving.” Smith’s death spurred several days of unrest in Milwaukee after he was shot and killed by police on Saturday following a brief chase during a traffic stop. Read more.


Rapper Nelly, Backed By A Full Orchestra, Will Take The Stage In St. Louis Hometown

Rapper Nelly is slated for a one-night-only performance next year, accompanied by the St. Louis Orchestra. The concert, titled “A Night of Symphonic Hip Hop,” will take place on Feb. 3 at Powell Symphony Hall. Nelly will bang out most of his greatest hits, including “Hot in Herre,” and “Country Grammar.” Tickets went on sale on Tuesday. Read more.

Not that winning five medals in Rio was enough, gymnast Simone Biles crossed off one more item on her bucket list: meet and kiss celeb crush, actor Zac Efron. Efron waited backstage after her Tuesday floor exercise routine in which the teen phenom snagged gold, and surprised the whole U.S. gymnastics team. Biles captured the moment on her phone, posting the best part of her day on social media (besides winning gold), showing the exact moment that Efron kissed her on the cheek. Read more.
