A Missouri Jimmy John’s delivery driver has been fired and arrested on charges of falsely accusing a Black man of robbery.
According to ABC 17, Courtney Chancellor, a delivery driver for the sandwich franchise, reported a robbery, alleging that a 6-foot-tall Black man in his late 20s with some facial hair, and brandishing a gun, robbed her at the University of Missouri.
But after checking the campus’ surveillance video, police realized Chancellor was never robbed and she eventually confessed that she concocted the story for reasons that remain unclear.
