A 58-year-old Chicago woman fought off an attempted rapist by beating him unconscious with a crowbar, Fox 32 reports.

“All I know is somebody grabbed my hair. He kept saying, ‘don’t look at me b—-, I’m the Grim Reaper,Angela Ferguson, the alleged victim, told the television news outlet about the attack on Monday. “So he kept hitting me in my face, and doing blows to the head, so I did this, and I said please, please, why is you doing this?”

Dorval Grice, 30, was arrested and charged with home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual assault, Fox 32 reports. He’s being held on $250,000 bail.

Ferguson told the outlet she woke to find Grice, a former neighbor, hovering over her, demanding sex. At one point, he threatened to kill her, Grice told the outlet. He apparently entered the apartment through a broken window, the report says.

According to Ferguson’s horrifying account, she struggled with Grice several times, and at one point managed to push him out of the room. Grice made his way back in by breaking down the bedroom door.

During the fight of her life, Ferguson grabbed a beer stein from under her bed and struck her attacker over the head several times until he lay unconscious in a pool of blood.

Ferguson said she ran outside to contact 911, but only received help after calling three times. According to Fox 32, the nearest police station is a block and a half away from Ferguson’s home.

But the incident hasn’t broken Ferguson’s resilient spirit.

“You’re not gonna put Angie out. And so he should have knew, that where he messed up. I bet he won’t break into nobody else’s house,” Ferguson told Fox 32.
