A compassionate act is getting lots of praise.

Tae Moore, an African-American senior at Greenwood High school in South Carolina, befriended a bullied classmate who also appeared to be in need of footwear, Fox News reports.

The bullied student, Taylor Bates, who is White, told the news outlet that he didn’t know Moore when the senior approached him.

“Me and Tae met yesterday at school when he asked me what size shoe I wear,” Bates recalled.

Bates, an aspiring rapper who uses the alias “Eazy T,” received a surprise the next day:

“He gave me a pair of retro Jordan’s because he said that he don’t like it that people we’re picking on me at school,” said Bates.

Moore, who is also a rapper, called Bates “a cool nice kid” who shares his passion for Hip-Hop.

“I’ve heard he’s been getting bullied around school and stuff, so I wanted to do something for him,” he explained to Fox.
