Human poaching huh? Well aint that something. I wonder how long thats been going on in Tazania because I’m sure it aint new, shit must be getting real desperate out there. People do have similar thoughts about other albino animals in different parts of the world but I guess it aint just about elephant tusks and rhino horns on the black market no more. I wonder how the belief has two extremes though, from albinos being harbingers of bad luck to their body parts being good luck.

At first, I thought WTF! Where did this madness come from? Africans have survived for thousands of years w/o too much intervention, even if their systems were primitive. Then they got the Europeans and their missionaries talking about blacks having the mark of Cain and born into servitude because of Ham. The logic would follow that IF they had white skin, they could escape all that. Therefore, the misinformation is in the fact that they have been taught to believe white skin is superior and if they had some, they’d be wealthy. Now Albinos are hunted, butchered and sold cuz 75k would make an African rich. So the crazy logic plays out that way. I can’t figure out what the heck they’d do with a hand/leg besides wave them around. Wouldn’t it make more sense just to have albino’s wave their own hands if their supposed to be magical? If they are so magical, why do other Africans oppress them? Seems a murdered albino would bring bad luck; that spook would have good reason to bring nothing but havoc. Don’t those folks carve anymore? Hands carved out of wood would produce the same kind of luck…no luck at all. If it’s considered unlucky to be born albino, then a dead albino ain’t lucky either. Either way, this is not going to help their tourism industry. If they get 75k for albinos, what’s the going rate for white folks? This could get ugly.
