Teresa Klein, also known as Cornerstore Caroline, may have to suffer the consequences for accusing a 9-year-old Black child of sexual assault last week in New York City.

Due to the 53-year-old falsely identifying herself as a police officer, community activists were calling for her arrest. Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams confirmed he was investigating.

“There is no excuse for Ms. Klein’s behavior at the Sahara Deli in Flatbush on Wednesday,” Adams said in a statement. “We need to be clear: there are consequences for outlandish and threatening public behavior that seeks to intimidate innocent bystanders, especially children.”

The statement added that he was “asking the NYPD to investigate if she broke the law by impersonating a police officer. We cannot dismiss false complaint calls to the police with mere apologies, sincere or not.”

Klein claimed a 9-year-old “sexually assaulted” here at a deli in Brooklyn. She pulled out her phone, appeared to call the police and said, “I was just sexually assaulted by a child.” She even accused his mother of “escalating” the situation. You can hear her say, “I want the cops here right now!” She also claimed to be a police officer.

Members of the community have accused her of being a troublemaker and calling 911 on people in the past. After the video went viral, she told the New York Times, “Young man. I don’t know your name but I’m sorry.” However, she still blamed the mother for “escalating.”

The NYPD said “no report exists” of the call, according to Pix 11.

We hope the woman pays for her actions. People need to see there is a consequence for falsely accusing people, especially children.
