What happens when outsiders to the HBCU community try to impact Black college culture? The answer may not be as straightforward as you think.
In a stunning act of protest, a reporter from an Iraqi-controlled television station interrupted a nationally broadcast report to violently throw his shoes at President George W. Bush. While meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki about the new peace accords in the previously war-torn nation, the President’s surprise visit was a goodwill gesture to commend the recent progress. Although the President was not harmed, the act is indicative of his unpopular reputation around the globe.
