In lieu of The Good Bishop Eddie Long’s recent homosexual borderline molestation accusations, I shall now attempt to revisit that post but using imagery and language that are more, ahem, palatable.

Sometimes I write something so offensive that even my dear friends at Newsone respond with a resounding “good God no!” and choose not to run it.

Such was the case when I did a post entitled “Are All Religions Gay?”

In lieu of The Good Bishop Eddie Long’s recent homosexual borderline molestation accusations, I shall now attempt to revisit that post but using imagery and language that are more, ahem, palatable.

Let me say this: I am not a religious man. I am probably, in fact, a completely sacrilegious man. I do however believe in God.

The problems arise, I believe, when we mortals get bigger than our britches and attempt to assign God a gender.

I mean imagine: The Creator of All Things with either male or female genitalia?

Absurd!

But this is the crux of most religions. Males, making themselves responsible for all the religious texts and iconography, naturally refashioned the physical image of God into man.

This was done, of course, to justify men’s “dominion” over women. The problem, however, became that men eventually began to use it to justify dominion over each other.

And by “dominion”, I don’t just mean in a religious authority kind of way.

Think of the very act of worshipping God. Do you do it by standing up?

Recently I’ve been reading a lot about Afghanistan and I don’t know if it’s all propaganda or if it has some basis in truth, but there’s been a lot written about devout Afghani Muslims and their preoccupation with “boys”.

Premarital sex is forbidden in the Koran, but these Muslims have N Word-rigged the definition of “sex” into being something that is only possible between a man and a woman.

So the news is filled with stories—and even the book The Kite Runner delved into this—about Afghanis that use teenage boys as sexual playthings.

Whether or not any of this is true, who knows?

Who even cares?

All I would suggest is that whenever religious iconography causes one to bow down before the image or idea of another male being, it doesn’t become too much of a stretch for a skillful manipulator to convince his “flock” that they should also bow before him.
