I am so proud to be a educated, professional, altruistic Black Woman in this era alive to see a Black President in the “White” House. The day I actually read Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech in it’s entirety a tear came to my eye. He wanted so much for us…he wanted a better way of life for us because he knew we deserved it and we were worthy. Although he was killed before I was born, I knew as a child that he was someone important to us as a people. As an adult, I feel like my momma and my gramma must have felt for MLK as I feel for Barack Obama today. I was not following the election but when I tuned in I knew he was going to win.
Dwaynehollis2 you said it right when you said “Dr. King was a great man. I wish that he would have been able to see America’s first black president”.
I’m just so Black & Proud and i’m sayin’ it loud:)
Go to Whitehouse.org and see how far we have come as a people when President Obama’s picture is placed as The United States of America’s 44th President.
Michelle Obama my hat goes off to you with a curtsy as well.

I was just in Atlanta from December 31, 2008 – January 6, 2009 and I saw Ebnezer Church, I saw the house MLK live in and also where they have there tomb floating on water. I think that was so amazing to see that gave me chills and drop a tear to think I would of ever seen that I wish I was in ATL today because I know there is a beautiful celebration going on RIP MLK & Coretta and Obama is MLK Dream
