What happens when outsiders to the HBCU community try to impact Black college culture? The answer may not be as straightforward as you think.
Johannes Mehserle has been sentenced to two years in prison for the killing of Oscar Grant. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for the incident in which he shot an unarmed Grant in the back while he was laying on the ground on New Year’s Eve, 2008. Mehserle claimed he thought he was using his taser when he shot Grant.
The trial was moved to Los Angeles and Johannes Mehserle was sentenced to the shortest possible sentence.
