SAVANNAH, Ga. — A 16-year-old was severely injured after being shot after a fight at a teen nightclub in Savannah.

Michael Johnson was sent to Memorial University Medical Center early Thursday after a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Savannah-Chatham police spokesman Julian Miller said he was fighting with another teen at the Uptown Club when he was shot. Miller said Johnson followed the teen and fired at him first, but was struck when the teen’s 27-year-old brother returned fire.

Police have not released the names of others involved in the shooting, citing the ongoing investigation.
