HOUSTON – Many Wheatley High School students walked off the northeast Houston campus before their second period classes Wednesday, apparently in response to the dismissal of an assistant principal.

Sandra Walker, who was employed at the school for more than three decades, was removed as 12th grade principal before the December holiday break.

SkyFOX captured images of some students holding signs which read “Walker in, Johnson gone” and wearing t-shirts with the message “Walk Out for Walker.” The signs are referring to Walker and campus principal Wiley Johnson.
