WASHINGTON – First Lady Michelle Obama turns 47 on Monday – but she got an early present Sunday when congregants at a D.C. church sang “Happy Birthday.”

The worshipers in the pews had been tipped off that her big day was coming and rose to greet her, the President and daughters Malia and Sasha at the Metropolitan AME church.

The First Family prayed for the victims of the Tucson shooting – and the Right Rev. Adam Richardson praised the President’s memorial speech: “Mr. and Mrs. Obama thank you for your leadership,” he said.

On a lighter note, the Rev. Marie Braxton urged the Obamas, who’ve yet to pick a church in D.C., to regularly come to services there, The Washington Post reported. “It would be something if you joined our church, and I got to be your pastor and you got to be my girlfriend,” she said.
