Dirty south hardcore rapper Lil Scrappy (pictured) says he’s a weed head and needs help breaking his Dozier habit, TMZ reports.

He appeared in court Wednesday morning where he responded a drug test he took last month that tested positive for weed.

The entertainer was suited down, looking like an upstanding citizen. “Momma D,” his mother in real life and reality show “Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta” co-star, would have been pleased. Lil Scrappy, whose actual name is Darryl Kevin Richardson II, reportedly admitted to TMZ that he has an addiction to marijuana. The 29-year-old’s attorney, Mawuli Mel Davis, admits that his client is scheduled to enter a rehab facility in order to kick his ongoing drug habit.

The hip-hop star’s penchant for weed got him into hot water in March when he was jailed for violating his probation following a dispute over a urine test. According to TMZ, court officials stated that Lil Scrappy attempted to turn in a drug urine sample that was cold to the touch, which signaled to them that it could have been tampered with. When the officials asked him to submit another urine sample, he flatly refused. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.

Lil Scrappy turned himself in to authorities last month. The entire episode was captured on tape and will be aired in a later episode on “Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta.”

Meanwhile, Lil Scrappy is scheduled to appear before a judge again next month regarding his case.

John Howard Griffin (pictured) was born in 1920 in the “good ol’ boy” state of Texas. During his childhood, Griffin, who was Caucasian, was quickly schooled in the White supremacist ideologies of his surrounding community. When Griffin reached adulthood, he felt compelled to contribute toward ending racism, so he embarked on a journey.  Disheartened by America’s racial climate, Griffin wanted to see what life would be like as a Black man, so he concocted a daring experiment, where he would pose as one in order to understand the plight of “Negroes.” Griffin drastically darkened his skin and inconspicuously traveled throughout the rabidly racist South for nearly two months during the height of the civil rights era in 1959.  He chronicled his emotionally charged discoveries in his book published two years later entitled “Black Like Me.”  Even though Griffin’s skin-darkening methods were perilous by today’s standards, did he in fact die of the deadliest form of skin cancer, melanoma, as a result of his experiment?

Griffin’s memoir recounts the medical treatments he endured in order to darken his skin pigment. After the journalist found a dermatologist who agreed to take part in his outlandish experiment, Griffin began the skin-darkening process by ingesting a pill daily then subjecting himself to 15 hours a day of an ultra-violet sunlamp treatment for seven days straight. Once the week was up, Griffin shaved his head, and when he looked in the mirror, a Black man stared back at him (pictured).

In his controversial book, Griffin explains how segregation and racism reigned supreme in the South and how he was also privy to acts of Black solidarity that forever remained ingrained in his soul. Griffin also exposed the ugly and dehumanizing treatment he received as a Black man, such as not being able to use public restrooms, being denied housing, having to work as a laborer for the leisure or pleasure of serving Whites, and becoming the target of brazen insults and indignities.

After Griffin’s book was published, it ignited a firestorm, both good and bad. Many praised the book for his raw and unique look at how Blacks were treated in this country at the time, while others trashed it.  In fact, when Griffin returned to his birthplace of Dallas, he was burned in effigy on the main street of his hometown. The “Black Like Me” author was also forced to flee from his home for fear of possible persecution from White hate groups.

Griffin had become a target, branded an “N-word lover,” and there were racist Whites, who felt he needed to be taught a lesson, so he and his family relocated to Mexico, where they lived for years before returning to the United States.

After fighting all his adult life for the fair treatment of Blacks, Griffin, a humanitarian who received the National Council of Negro Women Award and the Pope John XIII Pacen in Terris Peace and Freedom Award, passed away in 1980, but not as a result of the deadliest form of skin cancer as it had been rumored.

While undergoing the skin-darkening process, Griffin had been carefully monitored by his physician and only suffered temporary and minor side effects from the treatments.  He had also received blood tests to make sure his liver would not be damaged by the oral medication, oxsoralen, he had taken to help accelerate the skin-darkening process.

Griffin suffered a serious heart attack in 1976 while on a lecture tour. During subsequent years, he suffered additional coronary attacks followed by surgeries that left him in a debilitated state.

On September 9, 1980, at age 60, Griffin passed away from complications due to diabetes.

As Durant, who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, watched the catastrophic outcome of the tornado’s wrath on television while in Minnesota on a business trip, the 24-year-old player could not believe the devastation and destruction that the tornado caused to those so near to where he actually resides.  According to the New York Daily News, Durant said, “As the day went on and I saw the footage and the casualties and the houses being blown away, it was tough to see.  I call Oklahoma City my home. I go through Moore all the time. It’s unfortunate. We’re going to come together as a city like we always do and we’re going to bounce back.”

Durant has come to call Oklahoma City his home after living there for five years.  The small forward, who is held in high regard by his midwestern community, planned on returning home Wednesday to lend a hand in the relief efforts.

And he was especially touched by the news of the children who had been killed or injured by the tornado. The 6’10″ giant with a soft spot for kids told Kentucky.com, “Just to get to the hospital, see some kids,” Durant said. “Something. Just something to give some hope. Playing for the Thunder, we mean so much to the state. So many people support us, and I just want to go back and support those people.”

During Fearce’s high school years, her and her family experienced multiple evictions because her mother, Reenita Shephard, had unsteady employment. 

Consequently, Fearce would often find herself having to read books in the dark with just her cell phone light illuminating the pages at local shelters. Fearce told WSBTV, “I just told myself to keep working, because the future will not be like this anymore,” she said. “You’re worried about your home life and then worried at school.”

But sometimes the shelters became too much, so that’s when the Clayton County, Ga., youth, Shephard; and her three siblings lived in their car.

Yet the experience didn’t stop Fearce, who also nailed her SAT’s with an impressive score of 1900 out of 2400, from achieving a GPA of 4.466. Her academic success empowered her to enroll in college courses for her last two years of high school, meaning when Fearce enters the prestigious Atlanta-based Spelman College in the fall, she will begin as a college junior.

Fearce’s success is especially significant when one considers that she maintained her stellar grades while dealing with hunger, “[You] worry about being a little hungry sometimes, [so you] go hungry sometimes. You just have to deal with it. You eat what you can, when you can.”

And Fearce isn’t the only shining star in her family; her sister is also graduating as her high school’s salutatorian.

Meanwhile, the proud Mom’s formula for her girl’s academic success is quite simple: books. Shephard says, “I read to them a lot, took them to the library. Everything was a learning experience.”

The couple, who are in the throes of a nasty divorce that began earlier this year, has been married less than two years. According to court documents, which were filed in a Georgia family court, Porsha says that this latest lock-out is not his first attempt at keeping her out of their sprawling digs. The 31-year-old Georgia socialite claims that Kordell locked her out of their home several times in the past and she always had to ask her attorney to intervene on her behalf.

Unnamed sources told TMZ, however, that the 40-year-old former Pittsburgh Steeler has not forked over a key to his wife this go-round and doesn’t plan on doing so.

Porsha also claims in the court papers that she tried to get Kordell to go to mediation to smooth things out, but he allegedly refused to attend, stating that the intervention was just “a waste of everyone’s time.”

Regarding the couple’s mansion, Porsha reportedly wants a judge to either force Kordell to allow her access to the home or pay her enough monies so that she could find a ”suitable residence.”

For now, Porsha is reportedly living in Atlanta with her mother until the situation can get sorted out by the court.

Last month, Sinbad, whose actual name is David Adkins, reportedly filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy.  The sometimes actor and former reality show star reportedly owes a whopping $10,991,715 in debt but only claims to have a mere $131,000 in assets.

According to the court document, which financially breaks down his debts, the 56-year-old Father of two owes American Express $374,979, Bank of America $32,199, and CA Franchise Tax Board $2.3 million.

In addition, Uncle Sam allegedly is demanding $8.3 million in back taxes for the years of 1998 to 2006 and claims that Sinbad is also in debt to the state.

The bottom line seems to be that Sinbad, simply can’t afford to pay his bills, again!

In 2009, Sinbad, who reportedly brings in $16,000 a month, was placed on the top 10 list of the 250 worst tax debtors for the state of California. At the time, he owed the state $2.5 million in personal income tax. By the end of 2009, he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

A few months later, he reportedly put up his 5,064-sq.-ft. mansion for sale with a $3 million asking price in order to help cut down on some of his tax debt. Sinbad originally paid $1.5 million for the house in 2007.

The man who was a television fixture in the ’80s and ’90s and starred in classic shows, such as “A Different World,” does have some material possessions he can still hold on to — at least for now: A 2006 VW Beetle, 2010 Ford F150, 2010 Lincoln Navigator, $5,000 worth of office equipment, and 200 copies of his book, “Sinbad’s Guide to Life,” which Amazon is trying to unload for $6.25 per copy.

The women are allegedly fighting a 2004 Johannesburg High Court order that gives Mandela the right to instruct his then-attorney Ismail Ayob to stop managing his financial, personal, and legal affairs. The order also prevented the lawyer from selling any of Nelson’s collection of art pieces.

Last week, Nelson’s current attorney, Bally Chuene, filed a court document in response to the lawsuit that was brought by Makaziwe and Zenani, whose legal counsel is now Ayob.

The suit is mandating that Chuene; George Bizos, a renowned human rights attorney; and Tokyo Sexwale, a cabinet minister, who are named as trustees and directors of the valuable artwork and trust, be removed from their positions and instead allow the daughters to be in control their father’s fortune. The two daughters claim that the three men were never appointed as shareholders or even directors.

The 94-year-old former president of South Africa, who has had more than his fair share of medical problems throughout the last few years, has reportedly informed his legal team in no uncertain terms that he does not want daughters Makaziwe and Zenani involved in his business dealings.

The Global Post states that as per Chuene, who manages Nelson’s investment funds, which are worth more than $1.7 million, “Mr. Mandela made it clear to Makaziwe and Zenani that he did not want them involved in his affairs…the only persons he wanted involved were myself, advocate Bizos…and his other various nominees.”

The attorney goes on to state that the women are only seeking their father’s fortune and their current legal actions are fueled by “greed.”

Chuene also contends that Nelson wanted his two daughters removed as trustees of the companies after they were appointed by his ex-attorney, Ayob, whom Nelson released from his duties after a disagreement.

Bizos, who has been friends with Nelson for years, says that he is ready to fight the lawsuit as he continues to assist his ailing confidant in managing his estate.

A court date for a hearing is still pending.

Foreigners, who are looking to witness from a safe distance, what a “real ghetto” looks like are paying $45 a pop to take a bus tour through the Bronx, and borough politicos are up in arms, according to the New York Post.

Real Bronx Tours are taking mainly White Europeans and Australians on a tour of the Bronx with stops at for photo ops at a food-pantry line, “pickpocket” park, and housing projects.

According to an unnamed patron on the tour, one of the guides, Lynn Battaglia (pictured), from Pittsburgh, poked fun at impoverished areas, describing the South Bronx, in particular, as a crime-ridden borough infested with poverty and violence, which has plagued the area since the 1970s.

At one point during the tour, Battaglia allegedly told the tourists in front of pantry line, “I don’t know what that line’s about, but every Wednesday we see it,” Battaglia told the tourists. “We see them go in with empty carts, and we see them come out with carts full.”

The bus then reportedly stopped in front of St. Mary’s Park, where she reportedly told the foreigners, “If it were 1980, and you said to me, ‘Lynn, I want to die.’ My answer would be, ‘You’re in the right neighborhood,’” suggesting that the park is unsafe.

As the tour continued, Battaglia allegedly also blamed the borough for coming up with the term “pig” to describe police, “The policeman, his name is Patty, and he would walk up and down that street, and if he ran into an alcoholic, he’d beat them mercilessly. So they’d call him ‘Patty the Pig,’” she said.

“Pig” actually originated in London in 1811!

Borough President Ruben Diaz is incensed about the tour and referred to its guide as “the biggest fool on the planet.” Diaz added, “They should tell people about the Bronx that we all know, and that’s the Bronx that’s had the lowest crime rate since 1963 last year.”  Diaz contends, “To have foreigners come and gawk at a long line of people who are less fortunate than they are and to make money off of that and to view them as though they are some sort of entertainment is pretty disgusting.”

Meanwhile, Real Bronx Tours failed to provide a comment to the New York Post when contacted.

As an added note, I am from the Bronx and not only has crime gone down, but the borough has been significantly redeveloped since the ’80s. The Bronx is the birthplace of hip-hop, one of the centers of African-American culture, home to the legendary baseball team the Yankees, and has one of the world’s largest metropolitan zoos. 

The borough’s yesteryear image of being a lunar wasteland was perpetuated by those who are myopic and pessimistic. And today, the Bronx stands as a shining renaissance!

It certainly seems as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel for songstress Mary J. Blige (pictured) with regards to her money troubles.  Now Uncle Sam has his hand out for a reported $3.4 million, accusing Blige of failing to pay federal taxes for the years 2009 through 2011, according to TMZ.

The IRS, which has filed a federal tax lien against Blige, is claiming that she owes them $574,907.30 for 2009, $,203,743.53 for 2010, and 647,604.60 for 2011, bringing the grand total of the debt to $3,426,255.43.

Blige has been embroiled in quite a bit of money drama over the last few years. Last February, the state of New Jersey came a-calling and demanded that she pay the reported $900,000-plus she reportedly owed them.  During the same month, the 42-year-old actress discovered that a notice had been tacked on the door of her tony New York City apartment, stating that she had a “rent-paying problem.”  She had only lived in the luxury building for less than a year at the time.

Then last November, Blige was allegedly sued for neglecting to satisfy a $2.2 million personal loan that she and her husband, Kendu Issacs, defaulted on.

Blige’s charitable foundation, which she shares with partner Steve Stoute, was also in quite a bit of hot water last May, with TD Bank reportedly suing for not being paid back on a loan of $250,000.  The scholarships that were awarded to recipients of the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now Inc. have reportedly gone unpaid.

The woman whose net worth is a reported $45 million and who has sold 50 million albums globally also had a series of copyright infringement lawsuits that she has been battling, which allegedly cost her upward of $1 million a year.

Former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson (pictured) was taken in to custody early Monday morning by Florida’s Broward County sheriffs for allegedly violating his probation order that stemmed from his domestic violence bust last year involving his former reality star wife, Evelyn Lozada, reports TMZ.

A judge reportedly issued a warrant for Johnson’s arrest earlier this month, when Johnson failed to show up on two separate occasions to his probation appointments. The 35-year-old former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant also did not show proof to a judge that he enrolled in a court-mandated domestic violence education class.

Consequently, Johnson appeared before a Broward County judge on Monday to hear the charges being weighed against him. The judge deemed the probation violation charges valid, so Johnson was put behind bars.

Johnson is currently waiting for the set $1,000 bail to be paid.

The reported domestic violence charge was from a much-publicized physical altercation between Johnson and Lozada.  The couple had been arguing about a condom receipt that Lozada had stumbled upon in Johnson’s vehicle. The argument took a nasty turn and Johnson wound up head butting his then-wife, resulting in a forehead gash. Lozada was taken to the hospital and Johnson was taken in to custody.

The couple, who was only married 41 days, wound up divorced soon after, with Lozada spearheading the motion to end the union.  Johnson has certainly led a hard knock life since his failed marriage.  The young man, who once had a stellar NFL career, was fired from the Miami Dolphins, had primo endorsement deals cancelled, lost a lucrative reality show deal, became embroiled in child care support issues, and has suffered through immense money problems.

A hearing for Johnson is all set for June 3.

Last February, a judge gave Richard Cerezo (pictured) and his family just a few months to move out of their Geneva, Ill., home. They were facing foreclosure.

As they packed for the fateful day they would be forced to leave their home, Cerezo and his wife stumbled upon a bunch of old lottery tickets in a glass cookie jar. When he took the tickets to a 7-Eleven to check them, one was worth $4.85 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Upon finding the tickets, Cerezo’s wife warned him to either check the tickets or she would just throw them away. So he took the tickets to a local 7-Eleven in Aurora. After checking the first nine tickets, Cerezo says he came up empty. But his luck took an exciting turn.

“The following one was $3, so I was excited,” he said. “I get to pay for my Pepsi. And then the last one said file a claim,” which meant it was worth at least $600.

The management consultant went online and found that his lotto ticket numbers matched the Feb. 2 drawing. As Cerezo began scanning the numbers one by one, he kept getting matches. With each match, Cerezo’s heartbeats intensified. The ecstatic husband and father told the Tribune, “When I realized we had all six numbers, it was that shocking moment of, ‘Whoa, can this really be?’ Fast forward to the next day, Monday: Called in sick from work, went down into Chicago. It’s one of those feelings where it’s OK if they fire me.”

When Cerezo hightailed down to the Chicago lottery office, officials kept him waiting for about half an hour. Eventually, someone appeared to announce his windfall of $4.85 million. Upon hearing that he had won the money, all Cerezo could think about was that fretful day last February when the judge told him that he and his family would be evicted.

“That was on Feb. 12, so we were sitting on $4 million at that time in this jar,” he said. “We will have our home paid off.”

Besides February being the month when the ticket was purchased, the 28-day period has another special meaning for the Cerezo family. The Cerezo’s lost their 14-year-old daughter, Savannah, last year due to a sudden illness; February was her birth month.

According to Cerezo, his winnings made him realize one major thing, “I just thought, this is how God works.”

Mourners were aghast when they witnessed Brighton Dama Zanthe, who passed away after a long term illness at age 34, twitching in his coffin during his funeral in Zimbabwe last week. Many at the funeral ran for their lives, fearing that the young man had come back to haunt them, reports the New Zimbabwe.

As the young man moved around, many of his friends and family who had come to pay their respects stumbled over one another as they hightailed out of the funeral service.

Lot Gaka, who had been a friend and employer of the deceased, managed to keep his wits about him and sprung into action. He approached the coffin, snatched off the blanket and called an ambulance. After spending two days in intensive care, Zanthe was discharged from the hospital.

“I don’t know what happened, and I only remember being on a life support system in hospital,” the New Zimbabwe reports him as saying.

People are still incredulous of the fact that Zanthe had resurrected after being ill for so long. As a matter of fact, Gaka actually expected to receive a call from Zanthe’s wife with news that he had passed away.

“Zanthe had been on sick leave for some time and everyone at work was aware that he was critical,” Gaka told the New Zimbabwe. “We would visit him at his home in Mkoba 14. I was not surprised when I received a call from Zanthe’s wife on Monday night of last week saying that her husband had died.”

Before Zanthe woke up from a sleep that all thought was permanent, his body had been placed in a coffin. A body viewing procession followed which ended with the deceased being transported to a mortuary. According to Gaka, it was during the viewing that the twitching was spotted.

Zanthe says people are still stunned by all that took place at his funeral. But he goes on to say, “Everything is history to me. What I can only confirm is that people gathered at my house to mourn, but I was given another chance and I am alive.  I feel okay now.”

As a minimum wage-earning waitress, CeCe Bruce (pictured) moves from table to table at an Indianapolis, Ind., Steak ‘n Shake taking food orders from customers who leave tips ranging from good to nothing at all.  Never did the full-time server fathom that she would receive a whopping $500 tip for a meal that totaled $5.97, reports Wish TV 8.

Bruce waited on “Miss Jones” a regular customer who frequents the eatery for breakfast on Wednesdays. The woman observed CeCe going about her daily routine when she noticed some diners giving her a hard time. When Miss Jones spoke with CeCe about it, she merely replied, “You can’t let stuff get you down here because it will ruin your entire day and then there’s no point. You want to be happy and personable with your customers.”

When CeCe gave Miss Jones her bill, the total came to $5.97. Instead of leaving a customary 20 percent tip on the bill, Miss Jones’ gratuity far exceeded Bruce’s wildest dreams.  The woman left the waitress, who also attends school part-time, a $500 tip.

The generous tip nearly floored the hardworking waitress who was overcome with emotion. At first, CeCe did not want to accept the tip but took it after Miss Jones insisted. According to her boss, Greer Gooley, who is the general manager of the popular chain and, CeCe stays late and comes in early.

“Whenever we need her, she’s here, so she deserves it more than anyone,” Gooley said. “It just lets servers know that you work hard and it does pay off. There are people out there that [if] you do your job people reward you for it.”

Meanwhile, CeCe did not spend the money frivolously; she used it to pay bills.

As far as Miss Jones’ generosity is concerned, the extra money CeCe received laid a few of her financial burdens to rest. “All the worries that I have are kind of like out the door for the day, you know? It makes you look at life a little more positively,” she said.

The warrant which comes from the Broward County, Florida Sheriff’s Office, contends that Johnson failed to meet with his probation officers on February 15 and March 15.  The former wide receiver also allegedly never bothered to show proof of enrollment and completion of a court mandated ‘Batterers Intervention Program.’

Johnson was arrested last August and charged with domestic battery after he and his bride, Lozada, got into a nasty argument that resulted in him allegedly head-butting her.  The violence resulted in Lozada, who is known for her starring role on the hit reality show, “Basketball Wives,” having to go to the hospital to receive stitches on her forehead for an open wound.

After the incident involving Lozada, Johnson was cuffed and charged with domestic battery.  He pleaded no contest, was placed on probation for a year and his 41-day old union not-so-wedded bliss unraveled at the seams.  Lozada filed for divorce and the entire saga was played out publicly until the filing was finalized last September.

Since his marriage woes, the former “Dancing With the Stars” golden boy has been plagued by other negative life-altering occurrences.  After playing in the NFL on various teams for 11 years, the Miami Dolphins dropped Johnson after his domestic abuse charges went public.  Johnson also lost pricey endorsements, has suffered through money problems — such as losing property through foreclosure — and has been deemed a ‘deadbeat dad’ by one of his baby mammas.

For now, Johnson, who lives in Pasadena, California, will be taken into custody. If a hearing determines that he violated probation, it could mean jail time.

Retired postal worker Melvyn Wilson (pictured) is probably one of the luckiest men on earth, because on Wednesday, he picked up his fourth winning lottery check, and this time, it was for a whopping $500,000, reports The Washington Times.

The Woodbridge, Va., resident, who has won more than $2 million, first hit the lotto jackpot back in 2004, when a scratch card fetched him $25,000.

Just one year later, Wilson struck it rich, yet again! 

Two more lottery scratch cards resulted in Wilson receiving a $1 million win on one and a $500,000 prize on the other.

Two years after his last lotto windfall, Wilson decided to call it quits at the post office.

Now nearly eight years since his last big win, Wilson remains cool as a cucumber and almost appears unfazed by the excitement that a fourth win should generate.  Wilson told lottery officials as he claimed his check for $500,000, “‘I’m just in the right place at the right time.”

The 72-year-old retiree admits that he is “in it to win it’ and plans on continuing to play the lottery.  Wilson believes he has a chance at winning Thursday’s Powerball, which is now at a jackpot of $360 million.

The record high for a jackpot is $656 million.

After Randy Jackson, “American Idol’s last original judge, announced his departure from the show after appearing for 12 seasons, rapper and judge Nicki Minaj (pictured) is said to be exiting the show after the current season ends, according to US Weekly.

Although Minaj has not officially announced her rumored departure, she has, according to an unidentified show insider, been noncommittal about signing up for another season with the show.

The once-flagship Fox program now has ratings that are worse than last year’s. An “Idol” insider reprotedly told Us Weekly about Minaj’s plans, “It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back…. She’s okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway.” The spokesperson also mentioned that Minaj just wanted to focus on her singing career.

With Minaj’s reported departure, the show would be left with songstress Mariah Carey and Keith Urban as its judges.

During Minaj’s time on the show, she has been at odds with fellow judge Carey, with the women even resorting to unabashed name-calling on Twitter.

As far as the other two judges, Carey and Urban, mum’s the word as to whether they will return to their respective judging gigs for Season 13.

The saga continues over the heated family feud involving NBA superstar Kobe Bryant (pictured left) and his mother, Pamela (pictured below), regarding a planned auction of more than 100 collectibles from the baller’s past. Pamela alleges that her son gave her the memorabilia, which she had planned to sell, and Kobe vehemently denies this, stating that he wants to pass on the items to his children. Now Kobe’s dad, Joseph (pictured below), and grandmother, Mildred Cox, are siding with Pamela and have entered the courtroom battle as well, reports USA Today.

The familial-tug-of-war reportedly erupted once Kobe got wind that his mother made plans to have his collectibles sold at an auction on consignment.

After Kobe sent a cease-and-desist order, the auction house sued May 2 in a bid for court approval. The company contends that they advanced Pamela $450,000, who then allegedly used the monies to purchase a Las Vegas home. Subsequently, Kobe reportedly filed a lawsuit on May 7th in an effort to keep his mom from proceeding with her intended sale of his belongings.

Pamela’s opposing lawsuit contends that Kobe gave her jerseys, trophies, and rings from his high school and early NBA playing days (pictured below). In a court filing on Monday, Pamela added that both Kobe and his wife, Vanessa, made “many false statements” in their sworn statements.

Kobe stated in the court documents that he and his mother had a telephone conversation on May 2 in which he affirmed the fact that he never gave her his belongings.  Reportedly, Pamela states in the court filing, “This conversation never occurred and I never made that statement.”  The Mom also added to the statement that her son, “Never demanded the return of any of the items, nor were they in any way improperly taken from him without his permission.”

Both Joseph and Cox are backing Pamela all the way, because according to Joseph, when Kobe and Vanessa visited their home and Pamela took Kobe and Vanessa to the second floor to see all of the keepsakes, neither Vanessa nor Kobe had any interest in the items.

Joseph, a former NBA player as well, said in the filing, “My son gave my wife these items over the years, stating, ‘Here, Mom, these are for you.’”  Joseph even went on to reveal how he had, on numerous occasions, suggested to his son that he take some of the memorabilia and display them in a room at his own California home, and “he declined to do so.”

Pamela also claims that she’s been in possession of the collectibles for at least 15 years and has even paid a storage company a whopping $90,000 over a five-year period to secure them.

Both Pamela and Joseph moved in to Kobe’s home in 1996. In the court papers, Kobe is also accusing his parents of removing a Teen Choice Award surfboard and trophy, after they were asked to leave his home when he met his future wife Vanessa.

Kobe’s sister, Sharia Washington, has also joined the family feud, but she is backing her brother 100 percent, saying, “I have frequently heard my mother talk about how the family can make money on items associated with Kobe,” she said.

And so the battle rages on among the Bryant’s….

Neighbors have reportedly complained in vain to Brown about the very prominent mural, which depicts giant blob-like monsters with bloodshot bulging eyes and huge fangs. So they reportedly took their gripes to local authorities.

And L.A. city code officials reportedly sided with the irate neighbors about the mural, citing Brown with a $376.32 fine after complaints began to flood their office.

The fine is for unpermitted and excessive signage, and the agency ordered him to remove the art within 30 days.

If Brown fails to comply with the agency’s order, the fine will go north of where it presently stands.

According to the Hollywood Dell Civic Association, Patti Negri and many of the area’s residents have found the images on Brown’s wall to be distressing and feel that the neighborhood children should not be subjected to such a ghoulish sight.  “There are lots of babies, lots of children, and they’re literally frightened. It’s like devils on the wall — big scary eyes and big scary teeth, and just the whole vibe is not what we’re used to,” Negri told the L.A. Times.

Brown took his feelings about the campaign to Twitter and posted the following tweet on Sunday:

Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, told the L.A. Times that his client is not backing off from this fight and that his client is being harassed. “I’m scared of neighborhood busybodies like this,” Geragos said. “They’ve called animal control. They have sicced parking [enforcement] on him, and now they reached the heights of ridiculousness here. Shame on them.”

Negri, on the other hand, is keeping hope alive that Brown will try to take on a more kumbaya attitude toward his neighbors and perhaps soften the artwork.  “I know a $300 fine is probably pocket change, but hopefully and maybe, he’ll just see the light and decide to be a good neighbor,” she said. “We’re happy to have him — if he just tones it down,” says Negri.

Duncan reportedly began working for Usher in December of 2010. She claims that she went the extra mile caring for Usher’s boys, Naviyd, 4, and Usher, 5, by working beyond the 40-hour work week, being both overworked and underpaid.

The nanny says that she addressed the excessive work hours schedule with the 34-year-old crooner on numerous occasions but claims that her gripes fell on deaf ears.

Finally in September of last year, Duncan says Usher fired her without giving her all of the accumulated monies for overtime that she had accrued. Now Duncan is suing her former boss, claiming wrongful termination, failure to pay wages, in addition to other complaints, and is seeking a reported six-figure settlement.

Last year, Usher and ex-wife Tameka Foster had a very heated and public court battle over the custody of their children. The pair flung a number of accusations at each other, with Foster accusing Usher of philandering, being an absentee Dad, and using drugs in front of his children. On the other hand, Usher accused Foster of being unstable, irresponsible, and inattentive toward her brood of four boys, two with other Fathers. In August, Foster lost the nasty parental tug-of-war and Usher was awarded primary custody of his two boys with Foster.

Tamu Francis (pictured), a third grade Brooklyn teacher at P.S. 191 (pictured below), allegedly egged on another child to pummel a “bully” as he stood before his fellow classmates. Now Francis is reportedly facing a $10,000 fine for instigating the school hallway circus, reports the Daily Mail.

“Well that’s what you get,” is what Francis allegedly told the menacing child who was crying after the alleged victim had beaten him up.

Initially, the Board of Education sought to can Francis last year when the incident originally occurred,  but after examining her spotless 13-year record as a teacher, they made the decision to fine her instead.

According to reports, Francis made the victim attack his assailant, after she saw the bully on top of the other child during a brawl on the school’s corridor floor. Once Francis reportedly pulled the children apart, she allegedly made her “serves you right” speech before instructing the victim to fight back.

Francis was also supposedly overheard uttering to one of her students, “When you act like a dog, you get treated like a dog,” said Lisa Brogan, the arbitrator who presided over Francis’ termination hearing.

Francis denied all of the allegations against her, saying that she was merely guilty of teaching the bully a lesson. The teaching veteran defended her actions by alleging that when she said, “How would you like it if [he] was to hit you back?” the victim took her words literally and began throwing punches out of the blue.  Francis claims that she did not have a chance to protect the bully.

Brogan, however, did not believe Francis because of her failure to report the violence to her superiors.

The behavior is extremely disturbing…. At best, it was a horribly misguided  attempt to teach a lesson about bullying,’ Brogan wrote. “She [Francis] exhibited extremely poor judgment and made an enormous blunder by trying to mete out a certain brand of justice for the class bully.”

An unidentified woman was reportedly cuffed by federal air marshals and taken in to custody last Thursday on an American Airlines flight for singing Whitney Houston‘s “I Will Always Love You” repeatedly, according to Fox 4 News.

On board a plane flying from from New York to Los Angeles, a woman allegedly began singing Houston’s 1992 hit right after takeoff.

Halfway through the flight, the woman’s singing was said to be unbearable.

With the woman refusing to pipe down, the airplane was redirected to Kansas City, Miss. In the video, the woman in question is seen being approached by three air marshals, then cuffed and escorted off the aircraft as she obliviously belts out her screeching rendition.

Airport spokesman Joe McBride said, “The woman was being disruptive and was removed from the plane for interfering with the flight crew. There was a federal air marshal on the aircraft, who subdued the woman and put her in cuffs and removed her from the plane.”

After news of the incident broke, CBS Atlanta stumbled upon some information that may explain the woman’s erratic behavior on the plane: The woman allegedly suffers from a diabetes-related condition that can cause her to be out of control.

Still, the incident has sparked a heated online debate as to whether American Airlines should offer her a refund for her flight; the airline carrier reportedly refused to make other flight arrangements for her.

According to frequent flyer blogger Ben Schlappig:

The part that’s most puzzling is that when the aircraft diverted the lady was interviewed and released without charges. If she was actually interfering with the flight crew, am I wrong to think she’d be charged with something for that? So yeah, it sounds to me like her only crime was singing Whitney Houston songs poorly — which is awesome.”

A forum on Flyertalk Magazine also turned into a heated debate when readers argued about the ridiculousness of the entire incident, siding with the unidentified passenger and how she was treated like a “security threat,” with one reader asking whether a screaming infant will be the airlines next target to be hauled off a plane.

But with the millions he’s raked in, in the music business, Knowles shouldn’t have trouble satisfying the bills.

The star-maker, who once handled the career of his mega-celebrity daughter Beyoncé, reportedly made millions from his daughter’s booming career. In 1992, Knowles also founded World Music Entertainment, which is one of the world’s leading music and entertainment conglomerates with record sales exceeding $300-million worldwide.

Its worldwide platforms include record label ventures, management services for recording artists and producers, artist development services, endorsement and partnership deals, performance and event facilities, a master catalog series, film and television ventures, licensed merchandise products, and investment and property holdings.

Under World Music, Knowles also created several record imprints and artists, such as Beyoncé and other daughter and singer Solange Knowles, gospel group Trin-i-tee 5:7, and R&B singer Sunshine Anderson who performed under the various labels.

Knowles, who was married to Beyoncé’s mom and House of Dereon owner Tina Knowles for 31 years, got divorced nearly two years ago, when his affair with a younger woman, Alexsandra Wright, surfaced.

In 2010, Knowles and Wright had a child and its paternity was identified as his and made public.

Actor Tim Stack of “Pumpcast News,” a regular sketch on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,“ takes a break from reading the day’s news to play around with unsuspecting patrons from  pump-mounted TV screens. When Stack a.k.a. “Jack Rafferty” spied the Sims at a Burbank, Calif., gas station, he surprised Will with a greeting and asked him if he’d be willing to belt out a song for his telecast. Will, who admitted that he enjoys karaoke, agreed to sing a Bon Jovi classic, “Livin’ On A Prayer,” without hesitation.

As Will performed the song without any reservation, his wife of 12 years, Monifa, sat boisterously laughing inside their vehicle. When Will ended his rendition of the song, Rafferty asked Will whether Monifa would join in too.  And while Monifa was initially hesitant, after Rafferty mentioned a free tank of gas and Will began singing about the offer, Monifa exited the car.

Rafferty was soon able to coax Monifa in to singing a song as well, with the fitness instructor choosing a Eurythmics chart topper, “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This).”  Not only did Monifa belt out the song in near perfect pitch, but her husband soon joined her, chiming in where needed.  The couple also showed off their synchronized dance moves.

Gloria was diagnosed with hypertension and acute kidney disease back in 2001, and two years ago, her condition got worse, with Gloria having to go on dialysis and being placed on a kidney transplant waiting list.

The 50-year-old Mother of two sons was told at the time that a donation could take as long as three years or more.

Gloria’s husband of 25 years, Fitzroy, and her oldest son, Nicholas, were tested to determine if their kidneys would be suitable matches for her, but unfortunately, they were not.  On the other hand, Paul, who was 18 years old at the time, was a perfect match for his mom and was more than willing to give her one of his kidneys but she felt he was just too young.

“I didn’t know if he was ready to make that kind of decision back then. I didn’t want to put pressure on him and make him feel like it was something he had to do, so I decided to wait,” Gloria revealed at a news conference last week held at Miami’s Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center.

When Paul turned 21, he and the family felt that he was old enough to proceed with his decision to give his mom the gift of life.

The surgery was performed on April 30th, and after a grueling wait, Dr. Giselle Guerra, medical director of the Living Kidney Program at the Miami Transplant Institute at the University of Miami and Jackson, who oversaw the procedure, informed the Morrison family that all had gone well with Gloria.

According to Dr. Guerra, the transplant added another five to 10 years to Gloria’s life expectancy.

“The survival [prognosis] of the kidney is much longer if it comes from someone who is living vs. the deceased,” Dr. Guerra said. “Overall, they tend to recover very quickly and require less amino-suppressive agents. It’s a win-win situation, because the waiting time of the list of people waiting for a donor also gets shorter.”

Just one week after having had the surgery, Gloria was in tip-top form: she felt energetic and could even taste her food again.

The most important outcome of the surgery, though, was that Gloria was able to really celebrate Mother’s Day with her family sans the tubes, needles, and slew of doctors.

“I’m looking forward to a good quality life, enjoying myself and my children, and hopefully their children and the great-grands,” she said. I want to live as long of a life as I can. I could not ask for anything else.”

According to the divorce decree, Howard got to keep both of their homes located in Pennsylvania and every single one of his 25 bank accounts. 

The couple owned a pricey 2011 Range Rover…and Ghent also has to hand its keys over to her ex-hubby. 

The 35-year-old ex-missus does however get to keep her bicycle.

The couple also agreed to spousal support for Ghent over the next three years to the tune of $5,800 a month, which is mere a drop in the bucket for the A-list actor.

The couple’s divorce war was fodder for news outlets everywhere.  There were such nasty accusations as Ghent allegedly giving Howard pet names like “N-word monkey.” 

The Oscar-nominated performer and Ghent have no children together, and according to Howard, Ghent said that she “did not want any N-word children from him” because she never wanted to marry a “N-word” in the first place.

There were also reports of physical abuse and violent threats made that reportedly began even before the ink dried on their marriage license. At one point, Ghent was granted a restraining order by the courts against Howard, whom she claims had dangerous bouts of mood swings that are so intense he threatened to throw her off a balcony.

Both Howard and Ghent have denied all the allegations that have been made throughout their divorce battle.

Carrying around a 134-pound scrotum for nearly five painful years had certainly been a drag for Wesley Warren Jr. (pictured). Yet he kept procrastinating about the surgery, because he feared it would end his life. On April 8th, though, Warren finally decided to undergo the very risky 13-hour procedure that brought the size of his scrotum to normal proportions. This week, Warren spoke with ABC News about his harrowing experience.

Warren’s painful journey began one night while asleep, when he suddenly woke up writhing in pain: He felt as though he had “slammed” his right testicle during a routine sleeping position, “I felt the most enormous amount of pain that one could possibly imagine,” Warren said.

The pain quickly subsided; however, the next day, Warren noticed that his scrotum had increased to the size of a soccer ball.

When the Las Vegas resident went to the emergency room, he was told he had an infection, given antibiotics, and sent on his way.

But his scrotum size kept increasing. 

The 48-year-old unemployed man went to see other doctors to determine why his scrotum was enlarging but was not given satisfactory responses.  Warren had another major stumbling block in his quest to find a diagnosis: he was only living off of disability benefits, so he did not have the financial means nor health insurance to continue finding answers for his medical condition.

Eventually, the scrotum added about 160 pounds to Warren’s frame, bringing his total weight to 500 pounds. And whenever Warren would leave his home, he would have to bundle up his scrotum in a hoodie and carry a milk crate with him so that he could hoist his scrotum on it every few steps to take a break.

Warren’s condition made daily tasks very difficult; since he could not find his penis, he was forced to urinate on himself. Warren’s scrotum size also made it impossible for him to put his legs together, so anytime he wanted to weigh himself, he would travel to newspaper and scrap metal recycling yards to use their scale.

In an effort to raise money for the much-needed surgery, Warren went on the shock jock Howard Stern radio show.  He managed to raise money from Stern’s sympathetic and mostly male listeners.

Luckily for Warren, California surgeon Joel Gelman, a urologist who works out of the University of California and specializes in scrotal lymphedema, heard about Warren’s condition, and contacted him.

Using the money he received from Stern’s listeners to travel to Irvine, Warren met with Dr. Gelman.  And even though Warren had great trepidation about having the complicated surgical procedure, the pain of carrying around his massive scrotum forced him to agree to having the surgery in April.

Dr. Gelman told ABC News, “Some of the veins in the mass were a quarter-inch in diameter,” Gelman said, recalling the lengthy and risky procedure to remove the mass in one giant piece.

Warren, who is unmarried and has no children, can now wear regular underwear and pants and says he is still getting used to walking in his newfound body.  “My body is acclimating. I’m still not able to get around much and enjoy driving or going to dinner.  But I intend to make up for it and treat myself to a truly fabulous meal and enjoy relaxing for at least a few days.”

Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley (pictured) is under investigation by Scottsdale, Ariz., police for charges related to an alleged sexual assault, according to Sporting News NBA.

Details involving Beasley’s alleged involvement in the case are sketchy. Still, police have released the following information about the assault that reportedly took place on January 13th:

At this point we can only say the investigation is ongoing, said David Pubins, Scottsdale police spokesman. We are interviewing those involved and processing any physical evidence we may have to try to determine if criminal charges are appropriate.

The 24-year-old player has been in trouble with the law before and in the not-so-distant past.  Last January, Beasley was reportedly busted by police for speeding; he was clocked at 71 mph in a 45 mph zone. Beasley was reportedly driving a Mercedes that did not have license plates, and he also didn’t have his driver’s license.

What’s more, upon inspection of the vehicle, police reportedly stumbled upon a loaded gun.

The 6’10″ player also spent time at a substance abuse center back in 2009 before he was traded to the Timberwolves. When Beasley joined the Minnesota team in 2010, Timberwolves President David Kahn publicly stated that “he was a very young and immature kid who smoked too much marijuana.”

And in 2011 during the NBA lockout, Beasley was cited by police for marijuana possession and for exceeding the speed limit while driving in a Minnesota suburb.

Beasley, who is in his fifth season with the Suns, averaged a career low of 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.  He currently has a three-year contract with the Phoenix team in a deal that was inked last year for a reported $18 million.

The sexual assault allegations against Beasley are still under investigation.

Sheila Howard (pictured) is behind bars at a Clayton County, Ga., jail and charged with shoplifting, criminal trespassing, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allegedly using her 11-year-old granddaughter to help her steal at a local retailer. The pilfering, which amounted to $139, was all reportedly caught on tape, according to WSBTV.

Police documents indicate that Howard had been ordered to not go near the store because she had gotten caught shoplifting there on two previous occasions.

Instead of abiding the restriction, Howard risked entering its premises, but this go-round, she was accompanied by her 11-year-old granddaughter in order to shoplift.

According to authorities, Howard put her stolen items in to a baby bag — but didn’t realize that she was being filmed.

Earlier this week, when Howard faced a judge, she said that she was unemployed, but the presiding judge, who failed to lend a sympathetic ear, criticized Howard for involving her grandchild in her activities and also mentioned that she should have never entered the store in the first place due to her barring.

The miffed magistrate then socked Howard with a $9,000 bond and ordered her to not only stay away from the retail store but from her granddaughter as well.

Kristie (pictured left) and Kirstie Bronner  (pictured) are identical twins with identical grade point averages, so why shouldn’t they share the honor of being Spelman College‘s first-ever sister co-valedictorians, reports WSB-TV.

The road to one of this country’s leading historically Black colleges was not a walk in the park for the girls; they worked hard to maintain their high grade point averages in high school.  According to Kirstie who spoke with WSB-TV, “Before we came to college, we prayed that we would keep 4.0′s all the way through, but I don’t think we ever really expected it.”

But apparently there is strength in numbers, and as sisters who have traveled along the same path, sharing the same educational goals for success, the young women seemed to fuel each other, as evidenced by their noteworthy standing at Spelman, “You can have strength together,” Kristie points out.

When the young women arrived at the Atlanta college, they said they really pushed themselves to the limit to maintain excellent grades, even making themselves physically ill.  Eventually, both Kirstie and Kristie learned from their mistakes, self-corrected, and managed their college workload in a way that would not negatively affect their health.

“We learned how to have a balance to life and then to be able to appreciate the journey of college and be more healthy and be more happy,” Kristie said.

The music majors, who will graduate in a few days, say that their collegiate experience taught them a valuable life lesson, “You don’t have to be the smartest. You don’t have to be the one who came in with the prior knowledge to be the one to succeed,” Kristie said. “It’s a great testimony and it’s also fun to be able to share it with one another.  I don’t think we’d want it any other way.”

As for the future, the Bronner girls say they want to join their father’s youth ministry at his church, Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral.  They also plan to record a youth contemporary gospel album.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams (pictured left), who reportedly has a six-year, $100 million contract, with $50 million guaranteed with the team, wants the $785,000 10-carat engagement ring he gave to former fiancée, Erin Marzouki (pictured), back and is taking her to court to make sure he gets it, according to the Bleacher Report.

The Houston-based lawsuit reportedly alleges that Marzouki never loved Williams and was only in the relationship for monetary gain.  As per the legal document:

[Marzouki] never intended to marry [Williams] and used the relationship as a means to get to [Williams’] money and acquire gifts, according to the Bleacher Report.

The couple reportedly split up last January, when Marzouki decided to call it quits on the relationship.  When the two-time Pro-Bowler reportedly asked for the ring back on several occasions, Marzouki allegedly failed to comply.

Williams and Marzouki got engaged on February 19th last year.

The 28-year-old NFL player, whose contract has been deemed one of the most lucrative in NFL history, not only gave his ex the ring, but reportedly also handed her an American Express card a month earlier to which she charged more than $108,000 then added an additional $230,000 worth of “luxury items” according to the lawsuit.

When Marzouki called off the engagement, she allegedly failed to return the ring, and according to Williams’ legal team, she promised to do so if her relationship with Williams came to an end.

In the meantime, Williams’ lawyers are requesting a restraining order and permanent injunction that bars Marzouki and anyone associated with her from doing anything with the ring like selling or even damaging it in any way.

Reportedly, Williams has a good chance of winning the ring back because he lives in the “no-fault” Lone Star state.  In Texas, the person giving the ring is legally allowed to ask for its return “on breach of the marriage engagement” by the donee.
