Which Political Party Is Better, Democrat Or Republican?

Tall_Dark_Aries says, ‘Politics, by its very nature, as practiced in mostly every place known to man, is replete with lies and subterfuge. The current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is a politician, by logical deduction, that person is a liar, regardless of his well-intentioned orations, his polemics are based on half-truths and double-speak, placating the public while appeasing the elite to whom he is beholden.’

This was in response to the BP news article titled, WHICH POLITICAL PARTY IS BETTER, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN? where other BP members chimed in with comments on the subject.

He goes on to say,

‘America is ruled by a system of government called OLIGARCHY — the mandates of the Republican or Democratic and any other Independent party defers to this oligarchy.

This oligarchy is embedded into the very fabric of the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Constitution — only by social upheaval and social unrest that has threatened this status quo have amendments been made — and surreptitiously reneged upon.

For every Voting Rights Acts, there are clauses.
For every Civil Rights Acts, there are exclusions.
For every Fair Housing Acts, there are restrictive covenants.
For every Brown vs. Board of Education, there are school inequities segregated proms and forged history and myths and legends taught as truths.

1. We have a BLACK president, and continue to be the most oppressed and maligned race of people in this country.

2. We have a BLACK attorney general (Eric Holder) and continue to be the fodder that fills Americas corporate prisons and jails for free labor.

3. We have a Black man on the Supreme Court but continue to be a race of people for whom real justice is elusive.

4. We have Black men at the head of Bank of America, American Express and other corporate giants but continue to be shunned and excluded from entry into its portals.

5. We have a BLACK U.S. Trade representative (Ron Kirk), yet BLACKS throughout the Diaspora are afflicted with the world’s worst and most abject poverty outside of Calcutta, India. Haiti, right in America’s back yard, is replete with people cooking, bathing, washing and using the toilet in the same water source, much akin to Zimbabweans in Harare.

6. We have a BLACK MAN (Michael Steele) as newly elected chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) who continues to challenge the current symbol of the Democrats (Barack Obama) on every policy, pronoucement, legislation and cabinet choice as if they are two BLACK MEN slinging the dozens at each other on a Cabrini-Green project stoop after a rough house game of basketball.

Despite all of the BLACK faces in prominent places, BLACKS in America continue to be besotted at higher numbers with unemployment, foreclosures, evictions, incarceration, police brutality, health care woes, homelessness and premature deaths — the oligarchy would have it no other way.

Barack Obama, John Conyers, Charles Rangel, Jesse Jackson, Jr., Kendrick Meeks, the Congressional Black Caucus, et al are all part of that oligarchy.

If you don’t believe me and want to see the REAL America for yourself, simply take a cursory drive through Detroit, Cincinnati, Houston, Gary, IN, Newark, NJ, Compton, Miami, Cleveland, Philadelphia, etc., and you will quickly see what the Republicans and Democrats have wrought.

    Neither. Poor Blacks vote democrat thinking the democrats will have their best interest at heart, the Rich Black vote republican thinking the republicans will have their best interest at heart, and neither party cares. They have different platforms but ultimately do the same thing. They look out for their own agendas, not the agenda of the people. Check out my other page the_voting_myth.     Neither party is better. In theory maybe Dems, they have passed more bills for the betterment of the people. But they seem to have lost their will to pass certain things like health care. Republicans prey on the religious for their vote, Democrats prey on minorities for their vote. When they get in office their pockets are lined by lobbyists… lose/lose situation

    Neither…They both have different philosophies at reaching the same result, which is protecting the rich..Lets great real, whoever controls the supply of money in a society is the true ruler(s) of that society..You want to know what party really rules? Look at who gets to decide what companies get bailed out, and who is left to fend for themselves…These people have us debating over which mouthpiece, the Dem or the Rep is working in our best interest, while the Fed Reserve is busy creating bubbles, then using tax dollars to keep their buddies clear, when those bubbles bust…Lastly, in spite of all the points outlined here, we will still have a President who shouts out “no more excuses” Its NEVER been about excuses, its always been about cause and effect!!!

    Tall_Dark_Aries, you said it well! They are two sides of the same coin. Proof is when you have somone like Arlen Spector who swithces parties at a whim in order to maintain the staus quo.

    The only way this will change is when Joe Public steps up to the plate, challenges THEM head on and makes a run for office….

    Neither party is better I voted democrat…I consider myself a conservative because I do have christian values. Black leadership encourages Black america to vote Democrat simply because The Democratic Party is paying off our black leadership. I was really torn in voting for obama because while yes…he looks like me, he doesnt embody my christian values. I would love to Vote republican for someone like J.C. Watts or Colon Powell but lets be realistic the Republican party is full of Good old boys (much like the democratic party) who wont really change. So lets hope they die off real soon.

    I strongly disagree with number 1. I dont think we are the most oppressed race in this country. I think such thinking only serves to continue to handicap the black race. Is it any wonder that you have so many young brothers in the hood who refuse to leave or young black women who refuse to settle for less than a thug. I would much rather be black than Native American I think a strong case could be made that they live in worse conditions than most blacks in the hood and they have less of a voice. Hell most of the Native American population has been wiped out to the point of extinction. We were taken from our land, their land was taken from them. To me there’s not much of a comparison.

    JJ, please consider, when you talk about Native Americans, you are talking about the lowest of their ranks…Most Native American tribes are the owners and operators of some of the most lucrative Casinos in the US outside of Vegas and i believe they have a few in Canada as well…Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are about 15mins apart in Connecticut and are VERY Lucrative. Most of that money goes back into THEIR own community!

    Black people need to really look at this rediculous devotion to one party, as if somehow the Democratic party deserves it. Most of our inner city school districts are ran by democrats..do you think those are successful. Many of the social policies that were created to “help” blacks have really hindered us. Think about this, how is it that black people have demanded to be allowed in to every corner of this majority ran country except the one that teaches its poeple to be self sufficient and independant of governmnet control.. The Republican party. Think of how far we could go if we were really anti government, anti control, anti in my pocket!! True Republican rarely live up to that ideal but atleast they have it.

    This article forgot about the other parties, what about the Independent Party, Green Party, and Liberal Party. You don’t only have to vote Democrat or Republican. There are other parties that are way better then Democrat and Republican. You just need to educate yourself on them, but of course people are to lazy to do so.

    LOL at the fools believing in the Democrats hype train. Anyways Reina_Negra951 you made a good point but why educate yourselves with fringe candidates that have no chance in hell at doing anything. There were like 9 people running for president this year and 98% of the people knew about Obama or McCain. Ralph Nader has been running since 96 and you don’t hear a peep out of him. Hell the only reason why Ross Perrot made a few waves was because he was a billionaire. Both parties are trash and they are run by billion dollar corporations that use the media to manipulate public perception.

    Neither party is ‘better’. When it comes down to it neither one is really doing us any good. And by the way Obama is a bag full of hot AIR! He TALKS constantly, no action…he has saved banks, period…when is he going to reach DOWN and help REAL people that actually keep this big ball of sh*t we call the world moving…the people that fund his trips to VA and Hawaii with the little gremlins and that gorilla face wife….im PISSED at Obama! big mistake!

    Why in the world do black people have to concentrate about race as a barrier to not doing well? I believe it’s up to the person to why they can’t do well. If you work hard you’ll get where you wanna be. BHO, Eric Holder and Michael Steele all worked hard to get where they are and they never complained. As far as what political party is better. It’s the one that represents the future, and the one that represents America the best, The Democratic Party. I know alot of people voted for Barack simply because of race; simply put that’s wrong and idiotic. We have here a man with initiative doing whatever possible to make the country better for everyone, it’s not just about BLACK PEOPLE. Get over it.
