MIAMI (AP) — LeBron James led a title-saving charge, and now his crown will be on the line one more time in Game 7.

James powered Miami to a frantic fourth-quarter rally and overtime escape as the Heat beat the San Antonio Spurs 103-100 on Tuesday night to extend the NBA Finals as far as they can go and keep Miami’s repeat chances alive.

Losing his headband but keeping his cool while playing the entire second half and overtime, James finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, making the go-ahead basket with 1:43 remaining in the extra period.

“If we were going to go down tonight, we’re going to go down with me leaving every little bit of energy that I had on the floor,” James said.

Tim Duncan scored 30 points for the Spurs, his most in an NBA Finals game since Game 1 in 2003, but was shut out after the third quarter. He added 17 rebounds.

Game 7 will be here Thursday, the NBA’s first do-or-die game to determine its champion since the Lakers beat the Celtics in 2010.

“They’re the best two words in sports: Game 7,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

The Spurs looked headed to a fifth title in five chances when they built a 13-point lead with under 4 minutes left in the third quarter, then grabbed a five-point edge late in regulation after blowing the lead.

But James hit a 3-pointer and Ray Allen tied it with another. Just 5.2 seconds remained in regulation. The Heat were that close to the edge.

James was just 3 of 12 after three quarters, the Heat trailing by 10 and frustration apparent among the players and panic setting in among the fans.

Nothing to worry. Not with James playing like this.

He finished 11 of 26, even making a steal after his basket had given Miami a 101-100 edge in the OT.

Before that, he was 12 minutes from hearing the familiar criticisms about not being able to get it done, from having to watch a team celebrate on his home floor again.

Then he changed the game and erased that story.

The Heat, who haven’t lost consecutive games since Jan. 8 and 10, had too much defense and way too much James for the Spurs in the final 17 minutes. They are trying to become fourth team to win the final two games at home since the NBA went to the 2-3-2 format for the finals in 1985.

James came in averaging 31.5 points in elimination games, highest in NBA history, according to a stat provided through the NBA by the Elias Sports Bureau.

This wasn’t quite the 45-point performance in Game 6 of last year’s Eastern Conference finals in Boston, but given the higher stakes may go down as more important – if the Heat follow it with another victory Thursday.

The Heat were in the same place as they were in 2011 at the end of their Big Three’s first season together, coming home from Texas facing a 3-2 deficit in the finals.

This is a different team. And oh, what a different James.

They said they welcomed this challenge, a chance to show they how much mentally tougher they were than the team the Dallas Mavericks easily handled in Game 6 that night.

James made sure they did, looking nothing like the player who was so bad in the fourth quarters during that series.

He was simply unstoppable down the stretch of this one.

Kawhi Leonard had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs. Tony Parker had 19 points and eight assists, but shot just 6 of 23 from the field.

The Spurs had one final chance down 103-100, but Chris Bosh blocked Danny Green’s 3-pointer from the corner as time expired.

Bosh had said Green wouldn’t get open the way he has all series – and he didn’t.

Green finished 1 of 5 from behind the arc after going 25 of 38 on 3-pointers (65.8 percent) in the first five games.

The Heat, the NBA’s 66-win powerhouse during the regular season, will be playing a seventh game for the second straight round, having needed to go the distance to beat the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals.

“See you in Game 7!” the public address announcer hollered as Heat fans either left with or tossed their usual white T-shirts that hang on chairs in the arena. These read “First to 16 Wins,” meaning the number of victories it takes to win the championship.

The race will go down to a final day.

The Heat are 13-0 after losses over the last five months, though this was nothing like the previous 12 that had come by an average of nearly 20 points. Nor was it like the previous four games of this series, which had all been blowouts after the Spurs pulled out a four-point victory in Game 1.

San Antonio had an 11-0 run in the first half, then a 13-3 burst in the third quarter for a 71-58 lead, and a final flurry late in regulation that seemed to have them ready to walk off with another title.

Parker’s 3-pointer over James tied it at 89 with 1:27 left. He then came up with a steal, spinning into the lane for a 91-89 lead with 58 seconds to go. Miami coughed it up again and Manu Ginobili made two free throws, and he made another after a third straight Miami turnover to put the Spurs ahead 94-89.

James nailed a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left, and the Heat had one more chance after Leonard made just one to give the Spurs a 95-92 edge. James missed but Bosh got the rebound out to Allen, the league’s career leader in 3-pointers, who made another one from the corner to even it up.

The Spurs went ahead by three again in overtime, but James found a cutting Allen for a basket, then scored himself to put the Heat on top. They clinched it when Bosh blocked San Antonio’s final two shot attempts.

Bosh finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Jay-Z will give his new album to 1 million users of Galaxy mobile phones on July 4, three days before the album’s official release date. The 43-year-old broke the news about his twelfth album in a three-minute commercial during the NBA Finals.

Details about the Samsung-Jay-Z deal, announced Sunday, weren’t disclosed and both parties did not grant interviews.

But Jay-Z’s partnership is just another way artists are promoting their music at a time when album sales are low and the digital market has taken the lead in the music industry.

Jim Donio, president of the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM), said top level acts like Jay-Z and Taylor Swift have the power to launch new albums in spectacular ways with various partners.

“For an artist whose album release is an event in itself … they carry with them a much wider profile in the marketplace that they speak to, so their audience and all the things that they do affords these unique opportunities,” he said.

In 2011, Lady Gaga sold 440,000 copies of her “Born This Way” album on Amazon for just 99 cents when it was on sale for two days, helping the album sell 1.1 million in its debut week. Others have also used that trend to sell albums, though not in its debut week: Last year, Phil Collins’ greatest hits jumped into the Top 10 at No. 6 — its peak — when it was sold for 99 cents for a day. And Bruno Mars’ “Doo-Wop & Hooligans” and Demi Lovato’s “Unbroken” both jumped about 100 spots on the Billboard chart when they were on sale for 99 cents months after they were released.

Taylor Swift, one of the top sellers in music, had her second platinum-debut week with “Red” last year. Her partnerships for the album included Target, Walgreens and Papa John’s (you could order a pizza and a Swift album at the same time).

“Even if you didn’t purchase the CD, her face was still on the pizza box,” Donio said.

And Prince released his “20Ten” album in 2010 via the Daily Mirror newspaper in United Kingdom.

Jay-Z’s new partnership is one of his many business deals. His Roc Nation agency, which manages Rihanna, Shakira and other musicians, recently expanded into the sports world, and he now is helping the careers of New York Yankee Robinson Cano, New York Jets rookie Geno Smith and others. Jay-Z has launched fashion lines, has a string of 40/40 nightclubs, was also the president of Def Jam and owned part of 1 percent of the Brooklyn Nets.

He’s still a consistent hit maker and a superstar who transcends music — which is why Samsung likely partnered with him on his new album. Samsung has chipped away at Apple’s share of the mobile market with its Galaxy phones, and companies are relying more on music to lure new customers (Apple last week announced it will debut iTunes Radio, its streaming music service, in the fall).

One of the many questions about the Samsung deal still unanswered: Will the 1 million downloads count toward first-week sales of the album, giving it elite status of debuting with platinum sales, an accomplishment few artists have achieved? Billboard, which tracks album sales and chart information for the industry, did not return emails seeking comment. Samsung reportedly purchased the albums though it’s unclear what the price-point was.

Jay-Z made it clear Monday what he felt the trade publication should do.

“If 1 Million records gets SOLD and billboard doesn’t report it, did it happen? Ha,” Jay-Z tweeted, adding: “Platinum!!!”

Donio said he thinks more deals like Samsung-Jay-Z are on the horizon.

“The record labels that are putting out the music and partnering with a variety of types of commerce outlets are going to look at just anything and everything that may work with that particular artist and that particular album release,” he said.

Every rapper likes a bit of controversy, but Lil’ Wayne’s recent antics have some people thinking he may have gone too far.

Footage from Lil Wayne’s  music video “God Bless Amerika” recently hit the internet showing an oversized American flag being dropped to the ground before the rapper proceeds to dance across it. While one could argue that he meant no harm by his actions, the lyrics to the song suggest otherwise: ”My country ’tis of thee / Sweet land of kill ‘em all and let ‘em die / God bless Amerika / This ole’ godless Amerika.”

NEW YORK (AP) — Dave Chappelle is making his most substantial return to stand-up comedy with a one-month tour for Funny Or Die.

The comedian will headline the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival, which kicks off Aug. 23 in Austin, Texas. The 13-date, two-stage tour concludes Sept. 22 in Phoenix.

The 39-year-old Chappelle has occasionally performed impromptu sets in comedy clubs. But he has largely avoided comedy and public life since abruptly leaving his hit Comedy Central series, “Chappelle’s Show,” in 2005.

Also on the bill are Flight of the Conchords, Hannibal Buress, Kristen Schaal and Al Madrigal.

Last Wednesday, as the young performer was reportedly twerking on stage, she began to bleed profusely.

When Blaze left the stage, witnesses allege, that she went in to a convulsion. The paramedics were immediately summoned, transporting her to the nearest emergency room, where she was reportedly given a transfusion.

The self-described “pole assassin” and proclaimed “Queen of Houston” was reportedly treated for a miscarriage.

Although Blaze has not officially confirmed the miscarriage, she did manage to tweet the day after the incident that she was in pain:

The woman whose false rape accusation sent a high school football star to prison has been ordered to pay a $2.6 million judgement in connection to the case, NBC 4 Los Angeles reports.

Wanetta Gibson (pictured) was ordered by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Friday to pay a $1.5 million, plus an additional $1.1 million in fees. Gibson was an acquaintance of Brian Banks at Long Beach Polytechnic High School when she accused him of raping her in a school stairwell. Gibson then sued the Long Beach Unified School District, claiming the school was not safe; she won a $750,000 settlement.

Gibson’s false accusation sent Banks to prison for five years, stripping him of his football scholarship to the University of Southern California. After Banks was released from prison, Gibson sent him a Facebook message saying “Let’s let bygones be bygones.” Thinking the message was odd, Banks worked with a private investigator to set up a meeting with Gibson. It was during their meeting where she admitted, on hidden camera, that she lied about the rape.

With the help of California’s Innocence Project, a judge overturned Banks’ conviction on May 24, 2012.

Since then, Banks had been on a mission to play in the NFL. He tried out for a number of teams, but did not make the cut. However, NFL coaches told him to keep trying. He eventually spent some time with the Las Vegas Locos of the United Football League, until the Atlanta Falcons signed him this spring.

Since the former player is currently unemployed and has lost endorsement deals, plus a reality show, due to a domestic violence charge last year lodged against him by his ex-wife, Evelyn Lozada, making child support payments for his four children has been a herculean effort.

In recent court documents, Johnson claims to only make about $3,000 but allegedly has to pay out $16,525 in monthly child support payments. The 36-year-old former “Dancing With the Stars” favorite also has other monthly obligations, such as $9,063.24 in mortgage payments, $2,500 for food, $2,650 on car expenses, $3,500  on clothing, $250 for grooming, $5,000 on entertainment, $1,000 for pet expenses, plus other miscellaneous ’necessities’ that total $31,154.76.

When you add all of Johnson’s “must-haves” together, the grand total comes to $45,982.76 per month.

But all is not totally lost for Johnson. He still has two homes, two cars, and a few bank accounts that bring his assets to about $4.7 million.

As for his jail stint, Johnson was ordered to serve 30-days in jail, after he slapped his lawyer’s backside in the courtroom.

The Associated Press reports:

A plea deal that called for no jail time fell apart Monday. Broward Judge Kathleen McHugh rejected it after Johnson playfully slapped his attorney on the behind in court. McHugh says Johnson wasn’t taking things seriously enough, even after he apologized. McHugh also extended Johnson’s probation for three months.

Even though Judge Kathleen McHugh has agreed to release Johnson from the stiff jail sentence she imposed, McHugh has extended Johnson’s probation by one month for violations that stem from his failure to meet with his probation officer twice and not showing the required proof of enrollment in a domestic violence education class for assault charges lodged by Lozada.

Tawanna Iverson claims her former husband, Allen Iverson, has abducted their five children and is asking the court to force the ex-NBA star to give them back.

TMZ reports that Tawanna just filed documents claiming that A.I. asked for permission to take their children on a short vacation to Charlotte, N.C., from May 22 to May 26. Tawanna reportedly agreed. But when the May 26 rolled around, A.I. allegedly did not bring the kids back. Tawanna claims she set up a meeting with A.I. on June 4 to pick up the kids, but he never showed up.

These events have lead Tawanna to believe that Allen never took the children to Charlotte at all; she believes that he is keeping them at a Sheraton hotel in Georgia. Tawanna says this concerns her because she claims Allen’s an alcoholic who drinks around their children.

Not only does Tawanna want the court to force A.I. to return the kids; she wants him punished, too–even if that means tossing him in jail.

This is not the first time Tawanna has tried to get Allen put in jail. Just last week, she asked the court to jail him because she claims he has not paid $40,000 in child support.

Tamar Braxton shared a heartwarming Instagram photo this Sunday, revealing the name of her and her husband Vincent Herbert’s new bundle of joy: Logan Vincent Herbert.

Accompanied by an adorable picture of Vincent’s finger grasped by Logan’s tiny hand, Braxton wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to the love of my life, my best friend, my husband Vincent Herbert! Our son Logan Vincent Herbert & I are proud to share this day with you!! We love you sooooo much!!”

The youngest and most boisterous member of the Braxton family gave birth to her son on Thursday, June 6, and soon after posted a photo of three blue teddy bears surrounded by balloons with the caption, “He’s here!” on Instagram.

This marks the first child for the couple, who wed back in 2008. The parents have yet to reveal photos revealing the newborn’s face, but we’re sure we can expect plenty of adorable baby footage when the couple’s show Tamar & Vince, returns to WE tv.

Kim Kardashian gave birth to a baby girl this morning at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, TMZ reports.

Kardashian and the baby, which was delivered five weeks early, are reportedly in good health. Sources close to the entertainment news site say that Kardashian started having contractions Friday night and went into labor Saturday morning.

The reality TV’s boyfriend, Kanye West, was by her side the whole time. West canceled his appearance at his own record release party last night after KK told him she was feeling “a little off.”

The little bundle of joy is the couple’s first child.

“You know, I was close [to attending UNC]. I was close. North Carolina was a very good school but, you know, when I went down there they put me in that Carolina Inn and there was a big Ku Klux Klan rally in North Carolina when I was there. And I’m like, ‘You know what? I’m not coming down here. I’m staying my butt back in Boston.’”

When pressed further by Patrick about the rally, Ewing revealed how scared he truly was.

“Big rally man. I was like… They stuck me in that Carolina Inn. And at night down in North Carolina it gets pitch black and I hear all the crickets and I’m jumping, I’m like ‘what the heck?’ I said, ‘Nah, I’m going home.’”

Ewing instead opted to play ball at Georgetown, his first choice. Even former UNC head coach Dean Smith advised him to choose Georgetown if he didn’t prefer being a Tar Heel. Had Ewing chosen UNC, he and Jordan would have been teammates.

Successful TV show test runs usually wind up securing a spot on TV Guide’s lineup. Talk divas such as Wendy Williams and Bethanny Frankel had talk shows that tested over a summer and wound up becoming huge hits that now occupy permanent network slots.

Mix Martial Artist and kickboxer James Wilson (pictured) isn’t called “The Beast” for nothing.

When he steps in to the ring – all 6’0 and 250 pounds of him – Wilson can take his opponents down in any number of ways: If he’s pinned against the cage inside of the octagon, Wilson can use his brute strength to maneuver out of the compromised position and slam the opposing fighter on to the ground. Or he can stand toe-to-toe and win the match with a knockout overhand blow, as was the case with Jim Johnson during a fight early last year.

Wilson is relatively short for a heavyweight – most fighters in his weight class stand around 6’2″ or taller – but he doesn’t think the extra inches he gives up puts him at a disadvantage.

“It’s not about the size, it is about the skill, the heart,” Wilson told NewsOne during a recent interview. “I believe I am the most-explosive heavyweight in the game. And yes, there are a lot of great fighters with more experience, but when ‘The Beast’ comes out, he is unstoppable!”

Wilson, 26, hopes “The Beast” in him will come out this weekend when he enters the ring Friday at the Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa, Okla., where he will fight in the “Road To Glory” Heavyweight kickboxing tournament he plans on winning.

Not bad for man who began training in Kempo Karate and boxing at the age of 24. Before that, he was playing football on full scholarship at Concord University in Athens, W.Va.

But after watching an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match, Wilson’s days on the gridiron were numbered. [The match] immediately intrigued me,” he said.  “I told my football teammates ‘I’m going to do that one day.’”

And just like that, the ex-running back and linebacker hung up his shoulder pads and laced up a pair of fight gloves for what has been an excellent start in the professional fight game. So far, Wilson has racked up a 3-0 record in MMA fights and a 6-1-1 record in K-1 Kickboxing.

Wilson sees himself being both the MMA and K-1 Kickboxing champion someday. It would be a remarkable accomplishment for the up-and-coming fighter, especially given his upbringing and troubled childhood.

Born south central Los Angeles, Wilson and his four siblings were raised by his mother. According to Wilson, growing up without a Father made his mother’s job of raising five children a near-impossible job.

“As much as she tried, she couldn’t stop me from getting into a gang and doing all the things I had no business doing,” he said. “It was a south central way of life: robbing, drinking, or shooting. I didn’t give a damn. I lost many friends to street violence and my one and only older brother. I was committing all types of crimes. We didn’t have a lot of money, so I did what I had to do to survive. There was a two-year period when we were homeless, sleeping in motels and a small car filled with all of our belongings. I was waking up early to take baths in the restroom of a recreation park before anyone I went to school with could see me.”

The traps of street life would eventually catch up with Wilson. He was placed in a group home at the age of 14, where he would spend the next four years of his life. 

“I can honestly say that was one of the best things that ever happened to me,” Wilson said. “My options were to have a stable and structured environment, where I can better myself or go to the California youth authority for 18 months, which is prison for minors. Good thing I choose placement.”

Indeed, Wilson is on track to trumpet one of those “started from the bottom, now we’re here” storylines that have drawn so many fans to MMA. His trainer, Savant Young, told NewsOne that MMA is so popular now that it has the potential to eventually overtake boxing in popularity someday.

“Whether it’s with young boys, grown men, or women, it is consistently growing,” Young said. “I started out as a martial artist doing karate long before MMA took off. In 1996, I started training in mixed combative [fighting] and it was a very different event — it wasn’t as trendy then. 

“The fighters are getting better, and with my own Fight Academy here in Pasadena, Calif., I see and hear daily how many young kids and their parents are interested in MMA. Back in the day, parents would just take kids to Karate or Kung Fu.”

Wilson, who also trains teens during his free time, sees himself taking advantage of MMA’s relative newness to the American sports arena. Not only does he see himself dominating in the ring; he seems himself being to MMA what Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is to the boxing and endorsement worlds.

“I look at him and how he has evolved to be his absolute best,” Wilson said. “He went from a troubled kid to a family man, entrepreneur, business man, mogul, and philanthropist. I aspire to have that level of success in this sport and ultimately in business too.”

But, first thing’s first: Wilson has to take care of business this Friday in Tulsa. The young fighter is confident he’ll end the night with his hand raised as the sole victor.

“I plan on being crowned the champion by the end of the night,” he said. “After this fight it will established that I am one of the premier heavyweight kickboxers in the world.”

The incident, which was caught on a surveillance tape, occurred at a downtown Cincinnati nightclub shortly before midnight on June 5th. Jones reportedly approached two women, who were sitting outside of the establishment. A third woman, whom police investigators have identified as 34-year-old Shannon Wesley, is seen walking over to Jones in a seemingly confrontational manner. The woman is seen reaching for the 29-year-old NFL cornerback’s face, but the video is so grainy that it is difficult to determine whether the woman has an object in her hand.

Jones is then reportedly seen striking the woman so hard that she falls to the ground but quickly gets up.

An unnamed woman then follows Jones, who is quickly escorted away from the scene by an unidentified man.

The NFL, which has a strict conduct policy in place, does not take too kindly to reports of violence, especially against women. Case in point, the Miami Dolphins fired Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, after he got in to a scuffle with his former spouse reality star, Evelyn Lozada, last year.  Johnson was terminated from his NFL team, as a result of his head-butting Lozada during a domestic squabble.

Meanwhile, Jones, who joined the Bengals in the spring of 2010, has been involved in three police-related incidents since then.  In addition, the grid iron player has been arrested at least seven times.  He is now claiming self-defense with regards to the allegations against him and publicly voiced his innocence via his Twitter account:

After U.S. critics lambasted Will Smith’s (pictured left) “After Earth” for being a sci-fi snore, foreign audiences begged to differ, propelling the summer flick to No. 1, according to The Wrap.

The film, which was produced by Smith and co-stars his son Jaden (pictured), opened in 60 foreign markets and managed to rake in an impressive $45 million — taking the No. 1 spot in countries like Russia with $8.5 million, France ($4 million), and across the pond in the U.K. ($3.5 million).

Domestically, the film which cost about $130 million to make, crash landed, falling far short of its expected box office gains.  The film, which was directed by M. Night Shyamalan, had been tipped for at least a $40 million  opening weekend and only brought in a dismal $26.5 million coupled with negative reviews.

In the film, Will stars as “General Cypher Raige,” who with his son “Kitai,” played by Jaden, crash lands on Earth more than 1,000 years after cataclysmic events caused the human race to flee. Cypher is injured and Kitai has to make a dangerous journey, fighting off aliens, to summon for help.

As to why the film tanked with American critics, the question still remains.

Will has had a mega-successful career as an actor for the past 23 years, with his fair share of No. 1 box office hits even with movies that were not so warmly received by critics.  But now is the love affair over between Will and U.S. movie-goers?  Are eyebrows being raised because he is promoting his son, even though family dynasties are nothing new (the Sheens — Charlie, Emilio and Martin; the Fondas — Henry, Jane, Peter, Bridget; and the Bridges — Lloyd, Jeff, Beau, Jordan).

Sony, the picture’s distributor, is certainly keeping hope alive that the cash receipts for the film will somehow leap way past the $95 million that it has taken in thus far globally.

 Cicely Tyson (pictured) has finally won a Tony Award–at age 79-years-young.

The legendary actress won for her leading role in the play “The Trip to Bountiful” after a 30-year hiatus from the Broadway stage, according to The Inquisitr.

Tyson, who won for “Best Performance by An Actress in a Leading Role in a Play,” plays an elderly woman, Miss Carrie Watts, returning to her childhood home in the Broadway smash. During her acceptance speech, the actress told the audience that she thought she had pulled down the curtain on her acting career but felt compelled to give it one last shot by accepting the role. “I had a burning desire to do more great roles. I didn’t want to be greedy. Just one more,” she enthused.

The actress also said that she was the only surviving member of her immediate family. She has lost her mother, father, sister and brother. “I’ve asked over and over again, ‘why,’” she said speaking of her family members passing away over the years. “I now know why.”

In addition to ”The Trip to Bountiful,” the Emmy Award winner has given poignant performances on stage but has never received an accolade as grand as a Tony. She has appeared in such memorable Broadway productions as “Trumpets of the Lord” and “The Corn Is Green.” Tyson will forever be remembered for her stellar performances in the films “Sounder” and the TV miniseries, “The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.”

After Tyson’s heartfelt acceptance speech, audience members rose to their feet to applaud the actress for her well-deserved and long-overdue win.

FORT LAUDERDALE — Former NFL star Chad Johnson will serve 30 days in jail after violating probation in a domestic violence case involving his then-wife, TV reality star Evelyn Lozada.

A plea deal that called for no jail time fell apart Monday. Broward Judge Kathleen McHugh rejected it after Johnson playfully slapped his attorney on the behind in court. McHugh says Johnson wasn’t taking things seriously enough, even after he apologized. McHugh also extended Johnson’s probation for three months.

The 35-year-old formerly known as Chad Ochocinco pleaded no contest to head-butting Lozada during an argument in August. The Basketball Wives star immediately filed for divorce after barely a month of marriage.

Johnson was subsequently released by the Miami Dolphins. He previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots.

Eric Williams

Williams, who is the estranged husband of ”BBW’s” Jennifer Williams (pictured), allegedly had a “love child” with Tavia Serena Cannon who filed for child support last year. Cannon claimed at the time of the filing that she needed additional monies in order to support her son and that her meager salary of $300 a week for babysitting was not covering her expenses. Therefore, Cannon requested that Williams not only provide child support but medical coverage as well for their child.

The said child was reportedly conceived in January or February 2011 while Williams was still married to Jennifer, who did not officially file for divorce until June of that year.

Meanwhile, Williams has allegedly been blowing off the child support court case and has not even bothered to hire an attorney. He also has been allegedly ignoring all phone calls and text messages from Cannon.

Ciara was giving an electrifying performance at an LA Pride event in West Hollywood when she was served with a lawsuit from gay club, “The Factory,” for failure to appear at the venue the night before her performance, reports TMZ.com.

According to the lawsuit filed  by the popular gay bar, Ci-Ci informed them that she couldn’t perform, but that she would make an appearance. But, on June 3, she allegedly backed out completely.

The  club is suing for breach-of-contract, but Ciara’s rep claims that she cancelled the appearance before a contract was ever finalized:

“Ciara’s commitment to perform at L.A. Gay Pride on Saturday night prevented her from making such a Friday night appearance. Despite being notified early last week that Ciara could not appear, the Factory continued to market and promote Ciara’s appearance.

“The reason for the continued marketing/promotion is unclear, as it is not known why the Factory would intend to continue to mislead the public, to cause damage to the L.A. Gay Pride festival and to attempt to portray Ciara in a negative light.”

While the details may be in dispute, the fact that the “Body Party” singer was served on stage is not.

During a March 13th appearance on “Good Morning America,” Braxton announced she was pregnant, saying, “I have a love on top! I am pregnant! I feel great and greedy at the same time. This is the most I’ve eaten ever.”

Braxton getting pregnant was initially quite a surprise, since doctors had originally told her she had “fertility problems.” Braxton told People magazine, “Vince and I [were] told we were going to have fertility problems — it was a lot of information — so we had to get comfortable with the fact that it happened on its own.”

Of her pregnancy, the 36-year-old star of reality series “Tamar & Vince” said in May that she has had a “great” pregnancy, telling Us Weekly, “I have a lot of energy. I’m always upbeat and everyone has to tell me to sit down somewhere,” she laughed. “But I feel amazing!”

Brittney Griner, 22, the #1 Draft Pick for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, will be modeling men’s clothing for Nike, reports ESPN’s Kate Fagan.

Nike is hoping Griner’s marketing clout will transcend the court. The company takes a cookie-cutter approach to signing female ballers, combining a set amount of free gear with a small payment. Sponsorship deals start at $5,000 a year, and only a handful of WNBA players earn more, with $15,000 considered big money. Griner’s deal is within this range; what makes it groundbreaking is the freedom. She will wear apparel branded as menswear, including the skateboarding line Nike SB, and she is allowed to pursue nontraditional marketing deals with outside companies.

“It clicked for me,” Griner says. “I used to do the whole baggy, hard-core, I’m-a-boy look. Then I went through a preppy phase. Now I have the athletic, bow-tie look. I found my style.”

The 6’8 Griner, who wears a size 17 shoe, shares with Fagan the pain that she had to go through hiding her sexuality at Baylor and living with the harsh judgment of her father, who didn’t want to “raise a gay girl.”

After years of shying away from publicly speaking about her gender-bending existence, she now says that it feels good to say that she is a “strong, black, lesbian woman.”

“So many people exist between the two ends of the spectrum, but no one wants to admit it,” says Griner. “If you’re in between, they say something is wrong with you.’We can fix you.’  Well, I don’t need fixing.”

In a voice message obtained by TMZ, Murray lets Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris, know she is not alone. “Paris, this is a letter to you,” Murray begins. “I don’t know what you’re going through, but I’m sure whatever it is, it must be difficult.”

While Murray admits he doesn’t know how to directly assist her, he ensures Paris he has her back:

I can tell you’re not doing well, and I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to solve your pain, or help you with your problem. But I wanted you to know that I am here for you.

Murray then says he’s always been around for Paris, and would be willing to share stories about her father:

I’ve never been gone. I always will be available to listen to you, answer your questions or to share with you a plethora of beautiful and favored untold stories of your father, as well as his venerable thoughts of you that he shared with me.

Murray then shares one of those stories, which is an instance when Michael left something special for Paris:

I once remembered having your dad write you the only letter I’m aware of. And I always hoped that you were able to save it.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the conversation comes next, when Murray makes a surprising admission:

Paris, I too love you as a precious Father, relative, or child. And I always will.”

According to TMZ, Murray used a pay phone to leave the message. He is currently serving four years in Los Angeles County Jail on involuntary manslaughter charges after using propofol, an anesthetic, to help Jackson sleep without monitoring equipment. Jackson fatally overdosed from the drug.

According to filed Fulton County court documents, Moore was sued for allegedly being short by $848 on her rent. The landlord is also demanding $2,500 in eviction fees and damages as well as June’s rent, but the main complaint was that Moore reportedly defaulted on the terms and conditions of her leasing agreement.

And that’s not all!

According to Moore’s neighbors, the former Miss USA beauty queen, has reportedly been the “neighbor from hell” ever since moving in to the six bedroom, six bath mansion strictly for the filming of the “RHOA” show.

“Owners are concerned that the value of their properties are going down because she has not maintained the landscaping, nor the pool, has even stored furniture outside and her dog is always on the loose.”

Consequently, the unnamed source also said that Moore’s landlord, Conya Weems, has been inundated with complaints from irate neighbors.

“The homeowner is incredibly upset at what is unwanted attention that has been caused as a result of Kenya moving in to the neighborhood,” the source said.

Moore, who is known for her outlandish behavior on “RHOA,” has until June 7th to respond to the Weem’s complaint.

The 42-year-old actor, whose real name is Jesse Spencer, was also ordered to perform 15 days of community service and serve three years on probation.

His infection was discovered in July 2012 during a routine industry screening before he was to begin making a film. He immediately received a penicillin shot, but when he was rescreened 11 days later he still showed signs of syphilis. Authorities say he altered the results of that second test and returned to work the following day.

Spencer is jailed on $200,000 bail in an unrelated drunken driving case. An e-mail was sent to his management company seeking comment.

Spencer has said previously he thought he was no longer infectious when he returned to work.

Prosecutors said he took part in two adult movie shoots within a week of failing the second test.

Two actresses who worked with him contacted police after a producer discovered the altered test result. Neither woman contracted syphilis, the city attorney’s office said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, syphilis is caused by a bacterium and is transmitted through direct contact with syphilis sores, which mainly occur on the external genitals, vagina, anus or in the rectum. A single shot of penicillin can cure a person who has had syphilis for less than a year, according to the CDC. Additional doses are necessary for people who have had the STD for a longer period.

Spencer was one of nearly a dozen porn actors who tested positive during a syphilis outbreak last summer that led industry officials to briefly call for a moratorium on filming.

In November, Los Angeles County voters approved a ballot initiative requiring porn actors use condoms for most film shoots. The industry has sued to overturn the law, arguing that its own testing guidelines for sexually transmitted diseases are sufficient.

Whether it’s “Love & Hip-Hop,” “Bad Girls Club,” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “Gossip Game,” “Married to Medicine” or any other show, all I see is a bunch of mostly Black females fighting, cursing each other out, talking about one another behind their back, and just acting plain old crazy.

Did I miss a memo or something?

When did that become the norm?

And the big question is, at what point did we decide that selling our pain was a hot commodity?  It’s called “pain for profit.”  And I would ask, who’s making the real money, but I won’t go there today. Just know that the $5,000 to $10,000 check per episode is nothing compared to the millions being made by corporations broadcasting such foolishness.

There’s a disturbing epidemic of young girls from elementary school on through high school increasingly fighting, viciously attacking each other, and resorting to violence to solve their conflicts.

Sound familiar?

If you think the images in pop culture don’t have an impact, why don’t you go to Youtube and look up girl fights. Warning:  it’s not pretty.  OK, so reality TV isn’t the only problem, but it is definitely contributing negatively to perceptions of minorities and to the way in which we view ourselves.

When I turn on the TV and see bottles being thrown, women pulling each other’s hair out, punching each other, fighting over men, and cursing everyone out, I can’t just shake my head and ignore it. I can’t get over the fact that I see kids acting out in the same way that I see these grown women behaving.

There will be some that read this piece and say that reality TV doesn’t cause violence.

It’s either the kids are acting like the adults or the adults are acting like the kids. Pick your poison. Either way, the vicious cycle must be broken, and it’s expected that adults should lead the way.

The other argument I hear all the time is that White women do the same thing on reality shows.  Even though they also fight and act crazy on programs like “Mob Wives,” the difference is that White women have plenty of other representation in the mainstream. There are tons of White female actors both on the big screen and on TV.  There are plenty of White female anchors, journalists, TV hosts, etc., everywhere you look.

When there are so few of us behind the scenes and in front of the camera to begin with, we need to be really careful about what we’re projecting. It may be hard to believe, but there are actually some people who never interact with Black folks on a regular basis and shape their opinions of us based off of these negative images.

And it’s also the only image many young kids of color have of themselves in the mainstream. These Black and Brown girls are impressionable and think their lives amount to what’s being depicted, and that is beyond depressing.  There’s just no balance.

In ACTUAL REALITY, women of color are caretakers, the breadwinners, the educators, the working professionals, and every other thing you can think of.

But just from watching reality TV, you would never know this. All we are force fed is the same old nonsense.

Because Black women have such little representation in pop culture, we have to make sure that we’re not acting crazy when we’re on the latest TV sensation. Until Hollywood and TV execs start diversifying their programming and until there’s more of us behind-the-scenes to make some changes, we need to make sure that we check ourselves.

If you have children, make sure they watch something other than a reality show. And if you’re on one of these shows or are an artist or in the limelight in some way, think about what you’re doing and how it impacts our community, because at the end of the day, somebody’s always watching.  And what will the history books say about your contribution to the empowerment of our people?

Former NBA star Stephon Marbury (pictured) took getting served by “The Help” too far. Now he’s having to serve up big bucks for his transgressions.

Marbury and his family’s former personal chef, Thurayyah Mitchell, started doing the nasty back in 2006 while he was married to his present wife, Latasha. He then agreed to pay her $900,000 keep the affair between the two of them.

When Marbury stopped doling out the cash around the $600,000 mark, Mitchell hightailed it to court to file documents demanding the rest of the cash. Marbury went to court as well, claiming that Mitchell’s court filing was a breach of the contract they had agreed upon. On Feb. 1, a judge took Mitchell’s side and granted her the remaining $331, 584.50, plus interest.

Four months have passed and Mitchell claims she has not seen one red cent of the court-ordered monies, according to TMZ. She is reportedly going for Marbury’s jugular, demanding that a court force him to hand over his Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover and to liquidate some of his assets in order to settle his tab with her.

A court date for the dueling pair is set for June 17.

We hope both Marbury and Arnold Schwarzenegger have learned their lessons…it does not pay to bang the hired help!

This past weekend was a huge movie weekend, with “Now You See Me,” “Fast and Furious 6,”  and “After Earth,” vying to become blockbuster king. On Monday, the numbers rolled in, and critics of “After Earth” seemingly rejoiced at Will Smith and son Jaden‘s “dismal showing” at the box office. “After Earth” came in third, garnering only $27 million, compared with “Fast and Furious 6′s first place landing and $34.54 million profit. But whether you are a professional critic or pedestrian movie-goer alike, was “After Earth’s s0-called weak showing a result of poor acting and plot as some profess, or does Hollywood and some Americans have a problem with a star such as Will having the audacity to think that more than one Black actor can live in the limelight at his or her own choosing?

By Sunday, several high-profile critics panned “After Earth”:

Slate: “Even with his charismatic dad in his earpiece calling the shots, Jaden can’t turn himself into a movie star by sheer force of Will.

Chicago Sun Times: “As for the plot, I guess recycling remains in vogue centuries from now.”

NY Daily News: “Summer 2013 has its first bomb, and sadly, it’s landed right on Will Smith.”

The Village Voice: “I fear Jaden might face online wrath for his performance here, especially thanks to the numb-tongued Kiwi accent he’s forced to adopt. He’s not bad, especially, but he is a kid asked to do the extraordinary: compel us as he pretends to do ridiculous bullsh–. As Will Smith coldly instructs him to feel, to root in this moment now, to master his own creation, I felt the purest horror I ever have at a Shyamalan film: What if this is what Jaden Smith’s life is actually like?”

But the funny thing is, in the New Jersey theater, where I viewed the movie with a nearly packed house, viewers actually clapped at the end of the movie, suggesting that the film had met their expectations if not exceeded them.

For those of you who haven’t seen the movie yet, “After Earth” is a movie that, with a post-human-Earth backdrop, explores “Kitai’s (Jaden) journey in attempting to connect with his father, “Cypher” (Will), while essentially coming in to his own.

The film showcases the realistic struggles between many sons and their fathers who often look to validate themselves by making Dad proud. Meanwhile, “Kitai” has to navigate through several obstacles — doubly mental and physical — to survive.

In other words, “After Earth,” even with its supersized and post-apocalyptic environment, proves to be a microcosm of life, with sheer faith, will, and strength getting the protagonist through.

“After Earth” is a positive and inspirational tale of a young teen coming in to his own as a member of his family and society.

It also should be noted that Kitai was able to overcome his struggles, emotions, and insecurities without lewd cursing, unnecessary violence, and explicit sex scenes.

So why the bad reviews?

Here is what some commenters had to say about the film:

Moviegoers resented the nepotism–hangover from Jaden getting TOP billing in ‘karate kid’–what are the odds????

Jeffery:

Smith the Elder needs to realize that Smith the Younger just doesn’t have the chops to carry a movie. The “Karate Kid” and this film are the movie star equivalent of buying your kid a motorcycle when he hasn’t learned to ride a bicycle yet.

Earthling:

Sorry, but I’m not interested in participating – especially at my own expense – in the crowning of the new prince by his father.

I’m sick to death of being told that some young newcomer on the Hollywood scene is extremely talented, and it’s only a coincidence that they happen to be So-and-So-Big-Hollywood-Star’s son or daughter. (As if there aren’t millions of equally or more talented actors out there spending their lives waiting tables.) In this case, there isn’t even a claim of talent.

Frank:

The kid did alright in the new karate kid. But the trailers really do look like daddy was giving the kid a financial gift… that he doesn’t need.

Adam:

A vanity project cooked up by Will Smith to showcase his young son, an uninspired and derivative plot, M. Knight Shyamalan directing…  what could possibly go wrong?

And if their comments are any indication, all of these readers are yet to see the movie.

But Fred Harris touched on some of my suspicions here:

Did a perception that this is somehow a “Black film” have anything to do with its poor opening? I know that this is a question that Hollywood producers (black and white) must be asking as they prepare for a summer of Black films.

With Carolyn adding:

My daughter and I went to see this movie Friday and we thought it was pretty darn good! I can’t understand why its not doing well and these comments from “critics” sound pretty personal. I don’t see a damn thing wrong with helping your kids make it. You people sound HATEFUL and jealous because these folks work hard and want to make a legacy for their family. On another note I DO think that they did not do enough rounds of interviewing and promoting. They did not WORK that movie properly that’s why it failed in my opinion. $100 mil for marketing they were cheated because I saw minimum promo for it. The acting skills ARE great kick rocks to whoever says it wasn’t they need to pick themselves up and keep it moving! Never give up!

Which brings me to my point: While I think we are all clear that everyone will not agree on everything, especially when it comes to perceived talent or lack thereof, it is widely known that Will Smith is one of the highest-paid actors and — up until “After Earth” — the most-dependable summer blockbuster actor for the last 20 years.

Obviously, son Jaden has a long career ahead of him before he is able to stand toe-to-toe with his father. But here’s what Entertainment Weekly’s Owen Gleiberman wrote in 2010 of Jaden’s performance in “Karate Kid”:

When a child star is cute and has a few instinctual acting moves, that’s probably enough to get him by. Jaden Smith, who stars in the new remake of The Karate Kid, scores on both counts, but he also has something that’s rare to see in a child actor. He’s got presence

…

As Dre [Jaden], he gets knocked down by bullies and drawn to the sweet sparkle of a teen violinist, but whomever he shares the screen with, he combines a kid’s directness with an adult’s way of holding himself in check. Though it’s not too varied a performance, Smith, like his father, acts with an emotional ease that’s almost gymnastic.

Gleiberman ended up giving Jaden’s rendition of “Kid” a B.

But Time magazine seemed to literally swoon, regarding Jaden’s performance:

A child actor needs three faces: sweet, sad, sassy. Smith has them all, plus a fey beauty and a poise that’s almost disturbing in its utter command of the screen. Ten or 11 when the film was shot, but looking even younger — not to mention being apparently the only black kid in his school or in China — he is the perfect minnow-out-of-water against the bully sharks. With Will Smith currently out of the movie-star business (he’s made no pictures since Seven Pounds in 2008, and has nothing slated until a Men in Black threequel in 2012), Jaden may have to carry the burden of family celebrity, even as he carries his new film. Expertly.

I won’t bore you with more reviews, but I think something should be said about the fact that, all of a sudden, critics are saying or implying that Jaden can’t act and is making his entire play on his father’s coattails.

Which brings me to my next point.

For the longest, Hollywood has historically crowned one Black male the darling of the times. Whether it was Sidney Poitier or Bill Cosby or Denzel Washington, I know I’m not alone in noticing that there is usually one Black media darling allowed to exist at a time. Obviously, this list extends beyond acting. Just check for Oprah or Michael Jordan. All of these individuals appeared to be given access AT A TIME.

But the idea that we can have SEVERAL or MANY Blacks of note dominating the media at the same time has always been a no-no.

More to the point, how DARE Will Smith think he can anoint his son prince without [Hollywood's] permission?

Why is it OK for the media to praise almost all of Will Smith‘s movies for the past two decades and then — all of a sudden — do an about-face for “After Earth”?

And if you are wondering why I haven’t brought up “The Pursuit of Happyness” just yet, which was given 4 out of 5 stars by IMDB, it’s because Jaden was cute and fuzzy back then — and it was his debut. But the moment it seems that the Smiths are actually on to something, meaning leaving a life-long legacy for their children, now all bets are off.

Now we will call Jaden’s acting with his blockbuster dad an exercise in “vanity,” now we are disgusted with the apparent nepotism that this type of pairing suggests.

But is that how people have viewed Martin Sheen, for example, with his sons Charlie, Emilio, and Ramon? How about when Martin directed “Cadence,” with Charlie featured in the movie? Or what about when Emilio directed and acted in “The Way” with his father.

Is that nepotism? Is the public disgusted by the obvious favoritism the Sheen family displays toward one another?

I’d bet not.

In fact, I’d bet commenter Frank was right to pinpoint race as a sticking point. So what should we do?

Support the movie.

It’s high time that we stop allowing others to determine when we can be allowed to break through the glass ceiling, and it’s high time that we know that just as Whites in this country have been able to secure futures for their offspring, we can too.

Vip Bhola, victim Khyati Shah’s lawyer, told TMZ that “some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.”

Bhola also said that BMA’s response to Shah’s injury — an ice pack designed to soothe elbows — was insufficient. Instead, Bhola says Shah should’ve been rushed to the hospital.

Currently, Shah is reportedly waiting for results from a neurological exam next week that will determine if she files suit or not.

Calls to Miguel and BMA were not returned.
