I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that now that her daughter is famous this woman wants her daughter. This goes to show how much money can make a person humiliate themselves on national television, video whatever just so they can have what they don’t deserve.

Its sad that theyre using that one girl in an impoverished community when noone should be impoverished like that. Thats whats sad.

Thats so sad. Dad tryin to sell her mom only wants her for money as well. Its sad but at the same time its not too surprising, knowing what they already do to their children in order to get money. This world has come a long way but we still have long way to go.

Mother abandoned the child as a baby, wants to come back after child gets successful. She wants to reconnect, not out of love…but greed? me and my daughter would drive past that b***h’s hut everyday in a two thousand somethin’ beamer and throw one dollar bills out the window and tell that b***h to “fetch” in our native mumbai language.

well take a look at where they live….so money is important to them and needed over there so its not surprising that momma wants to get back in her life. They all need to get a grip here and think of the little girl before someone steps in and takes her away from all of them. Its sad that he tried to sell her, which is weird because if she was a hit with the movie, that could lead to something else with more money..duh

This organization is not in India but in other war torn countries to empower women so that their children do not have to go through what this little girl was very close to suffering.

Such a beautiful little girl. It’s sad to look at her sweet little face and know that she’s caught in the middle of such foolishness. And some of the other kids are having issues like that too. Its good that the movie featured real poor people in India, but look what the money is doing to them.

In much of the old world girls are not as valued as boys so maybe thats the reason he tried to sell her. still its a shame people have such a medieval view of children…

This is not the first case in India, this happens every single day but never had it come to our notice bcoz those children’s lives are not as popular as Rubina is. If its not this way they go the other way , they are so helpless that they r ready to put them up for prostitution, this is how it goes down in India for the most unfortunate. So we got to be pleased with what each one has or gets & thank god for all that he has given us…

Remember, Shaq went thru this similar type thing [with his abandoning daddy] once he got to become an NBA star. So did Chili from TLC. It’s just usually the daddy’s who walk out of their children’s lives with as much as a glance back–then all of a sudden want to become that parent again in their [adult] lives. Rubina’s mother is no different. She spied opportunity and is trying to pounce. Typical.

JJ, I think you are wrong. Females are highly sought after in places like this. Places where women are disrespected and treated like objects. You know the role, cook, clean, have babies, etc. He probably tried to sell her to another man so he could move out of the slums. It’s not uncommon for men to sell their daughters. I’ve seen a few cases of this very thing, sometimes known as arranged marriages.

All of a sudden, the biological mother who abandoned the child turns up and starts a fight with the child’s step-mother!

She must have smelled the money!!!

A lot of countries rather have boys because of the fact that females can not pass on their family name in so their legacy dies as well as in some countries women aren’t allowed to earn income so in which family needs a son to take care of the family…

This is rediculous, I don’t see the father selling his movie star daughter for $300,000 dollars. When she will make more than that in the future. But they still live in the slums, so maybe money got the best of him!!!
