ok first off not all black people eat chicken. i’m a vegetarian and if your gonna call it a sterotype it was all black people love fried chicken and watermelon. so please get it right. and i work in an office filled with white girls and white doctors and i tell you what the printed coupons out by the dozen. so what oprah is halking chicken wasnt aimed at black people since they dont make up the bulk of her viewers. KFC did this with her to get her at home mom the white soccer mom to come back to there stores and bring dinner home on friday night and since most are watching what they feed there kids they most likely will buy the grilled chicken. but how do you get them in the door to buy it. you give it away free and hope for a better pay off in the long run. damn people pay attention to marketing 101 plan and simple and its only a two piece meal. and kudos to kfc and if you read the coupon it says the manager chooses the pieces of chicken you get. so hey it did what it was suppose to do get you to try the chicken and hopefully buy it next time. so print out all the coupons load up all the neighborhood kids and walk, drive, run, skip, hop, jump, cathch a bus on down to KFC.!!!!!

Oh i loved it. I actually made my whole Cinco De Mayo! I took advantage and printed a few of the coupons for later ;) If I could I would personally thank Oprah. I feel like she PERSONALLY paid for my lunch. Its a nice gesture that didn’t go to waste, even if its for marketing purposes.

Im a coupon chaser myself and this is nothing NEW for KFC. every other month they give away something in a form of a coupon…but how many people knew that? Not that she (Oprah) couldnt give away something, i just wish it would have been something else. This is wasted hype, just like Denny’s, and Popeyes. This is their carrot to attract the donkeys.

I am not sure what is really going on with this chicken give away ordeal. I am in the Chicago area and have been told by two different KFCs that they are not accepting these coupons that everyone have printed out. Some other customers that I ran into also said the same thing when they came out of the KFC and done stood in line for 30-40 mins just to be turned away because the coupons are not being accepted. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE IN THE CHICAGO AREA OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE U.S.??

I tried it? I can do better a home cooking? It is not all that to me…esp for Oprah to buy the franchise of KFC? Does she even eat the chicken? I am starting to see her jump on everything that’s new? you can only print 4 coupons. but with a router and an couple computers with different subnet-masks you can times 4 by 2 to how many computers you have running off of a router with norton antivirus. so yea people are taking advantage of it.

I give away free drinks for ladies every Friday night at my club from 5 – 10 and you think I was the bad guy. Amazing how entitled people feel for some free stuff.

you damn straight i’m mad! 3 different kfc’s in my area were accepting coupons the day it showed on oprah’s show on the 5th. on the 6th they stopped taking coupons. the stores said they were losing too much money and that oprah hadn’t paid for s**t. one store even had the nerve to only offer 1 side and said they weren’t accepting coupons ending in 1234. ALL THE DAMN COUPONS END IN 1234! This was not spur of the moment. KFC talked with Oprah in advance to arrange this special. they should have notified all KFC branches to lay in extra supplies. When you go to the kfc website, it tells you which stores are suppossed to accept the coupon. Those are the same stores that are refusing them. If you don’t have any more grilled chicken, offer me something else of equal value. If I waited in line patiently and then when it’s my turn, you say sorry you just ass out, of course i’m going to act a fool.

Anytime you use the word FREE in this country, things get out of hand. I used to share certain types of resources with other people all the time, but I don’t do it as much as I used to, because they’ll tell two people and those two people’ll tell two people, etc… and before you know it, the resource is no longer available to anyone. Certain areas of this country are SERIOUSLY over-populated.

I’m an employee at my local KFC and it was hell on earth with those coupons. Ppl were coming in vans, suvs, even a freakin bus trying to get that free meal. We literally had to make nearly 120 mashed potatos and cole slaws JUST to try and keep up. And this isn’t just a black thing but there were more white ppl coming to get the chicken then blacks. I’m not being racial; only speakin of what I witnessed. It was a nice gesture considering there were ppl with little money and had no idea where the next meal was going to come from. But, the fact of the matter is ppl (white and black) don’t know how to act with anything FREE. At a KFC about 30 mins away from the one I work at had the police called, workers were walking out, and customers gettin pissed and showing out. It was straight madness!! Ppl were gettin desperate and were even making copies of the same coupon to make it last. I mean it really just put one hell of a strain on us. But that’s just how i feel about it all. RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS!!!! :)
