Solange Knowles Overdoses on Nyquil

Contact Music is reporting that Solange Knowles has been hospitalized after passing out due to a nyquil

Her muddled mental state was laid bare in a series of bizarre postings on social networking website Twitter.com which she uploaded during the journey.  But three hours into the trip, her messages suddenly stopped after she complained of feeling sleepy – and three hours later she logged back on to the website to tell fans: “Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital?”

In a series of Twitter postings during the flight, she told fans how she had swallowed NyQuil tablets to treat a cold.  She wrote: “I took a nyquil and i think maybe im getting high off it because im not sleeping. maybe i should close my eyes…”

“think im certified loosing (sic) it on nyquil. going to sleep before i start freestyling on the plane… omg (Oh my God) i didnt know nyquil could do this to you. i took the pills tho. cant stomach cough syrup. trying to be proactive on this flight.”

“Never taking nyquil again. I feel so weird.”
The singer left further apparently random messages about various musicians and having “freezing” feet, before a break of three hours.


She then logged on again and wrote: “Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital? Woke up to 8 random people over me, laid out on the floor in baggage claim!… Guess I passed out! Scary. Hooked up to IV now . Apparantly I’m super dehydrated.


“I’ve never passed out before. S**t was like the movies. People standing over me saying ‘hello’… My mom is the best. LOL (laugh out loud). She’s like ‘Ain’t nothing wrong with this girl, she need some water and rest… Pull up the car!’ LOL


“I’m like still in shock. I’ve never passed out before. Think it was the nyquil too. I felt weird when I woke up. This has been the day from hell. I’m done with the second IV. I just want to get in the bed and lay with (son) Julez. That’s all I want. The singer later confirmed she had been released following treatment, writing: “I’m out! yay!… they let me go….. Rest. Water. Rest. Water.”

    News programs have reported on this happening before. People think that over the counter (otc) medicines are safer than prescriptions. That is not the case. Let’s look at what a performer goes through-flights to appearances, she may have not been eating and rushing around, it would be easy to pop a pill and keep moving. Nyquil is made for you to spend the day in bed, not flying around in an airplane!

    I think ya’ll need to grow up. The girl didnt know how nyquil would affect her. She wasnt feeling good and like NORMAL people she took cold medicine and now ya’ll wanna talk crap.     Independentwoman2580. I understand your dismay. But the reason the manufacturer puts dose informaiton on the bottle is so crap like this doesn’t happen. I don’t beleive she is a real talent and don’t follow her. But when people waste ink (and bytes of cyberspace) on her, you can’t help but read and say “There, But for the grace of being able to follow direcgtions, goes I!”

    Not to take up for people but medication affects everyone diff. I once took the recommended dose of the syrup and was feeling all kinds of crazy. I was whispering when I thought I was yelling. Had crazy mini nightmares. That was my first and last time messing wit that stuff. Though I must admit I felt GREAT in the morning!!!

    alotta ppl that respond to these articles dont read very well cuz it cleary says in quotes the she took the pills and not cough syrup and its highly possible that the recommended dosage for adults is too strong for thats why its titled recommended dose

    Be careful gir, You may end up like Heathy Ledger….if it really was precription meds. If it wasn’t perscription meds that made you pass out….its kid of sad…maybe you should get help. Either way sounds like your should watch your DRUG INTAKe….YOU MAY OVERDOSE IF YOU DONT>!

    this isn’t even a big story… she took nyquil and probably didn’t pay attention to the type… probably had nothing on her stomach… and probably didn’t drink many fluids… she passed out… probably was up too long without sleep, and woke up in a hospital cause she fainted…

    WHO CARES….

    sounds almost like a mock hangover…

    Please like the rest of us don’t post about all our little nonsense sometimes. She’s just a person who had a bad reaction to some NyQuil pills. Some people get very different reactions to the same medication depending on their body chemistry. I don’t think this is a sign of any drug abuse. I’ve seen the same thing happen to a friend of mine with benedryl. No big deal.

    That does sound like a cry for some attention. To be online posting that you’re on NyQuil and it’s making you feel like this and that. That is a slight need for some attention. She got it though, just not in such a positive way.

    Um….doesn’t she have a child? First, IF she truly wasn’t trying to ‘lean’ and took the Nyqquil because she was really ‘sick’..then why wasn’t she responsible enough to know the correct dosage to take so she could be alive the next day to take care of her child?????? That is what brings up a red flag.

    Second, if she was trying to ‘lean’…why the hell would she do that knowing she needs to take care of her child????

    Dumb ass just looking for attention because she ugly and has ZERO talent…just like her sister. However…Beyonce is very pretty might, but neither of them are that talented.

    I know what Solange is talking about I took some Nyquil gel tablets and was wired, I had to go to sleep to get myself together, stick to the syrup you ain’t ready for the tablets.LOL
