What I want to know is WHY Bill O’Reilly is so passionately CONSUMED about who African Americans look up to and embrace with love? Nobody asked him to be our spokesperson or our advocate! Why don’t he and his culture warriors go back to worshipping his beloved Elvis Presley whom he swears is a great American icon even though he was a heavy drug abuser and womanizer? I mean, if you want to question who we chose to esteem as great icons, why not do the same for your people too?

I love MJ, and have been a supporter of him since as long as I can remember. Can’t stand O’Reilly, but I have to admit that just going by the facts, he made some very valid points that deserved to be addressed. Sharpton kept bringing up the millions of records sold and milestones that Michael achieved, but he never actually addressed the issue, he just deflected. Its too bad, I wish he would have presented himself better. He actually made O’Reilly look like he “won” the debate, when I believe he is simply a man with a vendetta who knows how to argue well. My view is surely to be an unpopular view particullarly in the black community. It’s always interesting to watch two idiots try to win a debate between them. I never had any regard for O’Reilly and I lost all respect for Sharton during the Brawley incident in NYC. The young lady made claims of rape and assualt against U/I white men. Sharpton attached his star to her cause, as did many others, only to find the story unravelling and eventually Ms Brawley admitted making the whole thing up. Most Black officials who were taken in, made their mea culpas, except for Rev Sharpton and a couple others. He’s since slapped his star to a number of other causes, managing to keep his name in the game, but not accomplishing much. Many brothers and sisters I know have their difficulties with Rev Jackson, but at least he’s achieved some things in his career. As for O’Reilly, he’s simply an out there racist, appearing on a network with racist tendencies. He doesn’t try to hide it at all. He and Rush Limburger (cheese), whoops, that’s Limbaugh, make a great pair of buffoons. I laugh to keep from crying that here in 2009, we still allow the tripe they expound on, to get on the airwaves. For them I’d make an exception to censorship, they need to be censored. All they do is instigate hatred. I’ve fought in the civil rights movement for 35 years and I have a lot of days where I wonder if we have made any progress. Them I look at my beautiful wife, with her caramel brown complexion, as are those of our four children. I realize then that we produced some truly beautiful kids, that bi- or multi- racial children are all beautiful. I also realize we see more and more of us “interracial” couples in the military, and everywhere we go off-base. This fact, that we are blending, joining, uniting, in cross-cultural ways, means there is a much deeper understanding between peoples across the board, talking about things other than the weather, sports, any trifling stuff, the way it used to be. People are much more able and inclined to discuss racism and affirmative action, etc. All of this is good and doesn’t need to be brought down by the haters in this world.

Billo and Sharpton are not in the same class. While Sharpton acted on a lie, Billo spouts lies on a daily basis. But this is the real world, and for all you who want to hash and re-hash the mistake of judgement Sharpton made, I say to ‘get over it’ because no one is perfect. Not even the ones who keep bringing his mistake up and use it as an excuse to hate him.

I wouldn’t waste my time, breath, or energy on o’reilly. the sad thing about it is….i never knew who he was until I heard him speak. This guy is so ignorant. He actually believes the crap that comes out of his mouth. theirs no real logic behind his bull it’s just pure ignorance. Bill oreilly is a full blown racist, and I wish Sharpton would have said something about the Micheal jackson having white kids. Angelina Jolie and Brad pitt are still white with black kids so what the heck does him
having white children have to do with it? As a race I believe blacks are more loving and compassionate we are more with God than any other race and yes I said that and mean that and represent that to the fullest. My family is full of white people and were black and that doesnt mean that i stop loving my uncles and question thier Blackness cause he fell in love with a white woman.

In a way there is a good point to what Billo is saying. He makes us admit that there is nothing wrong with a black family having white kids, a black man marrying a white woman and vice versa. You know why? IT IS BECAUSE WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND GOD MADE ALL OF US. The color of the skin is so trivial in the vast network of things.
