Oh boy let’s see how long her show will last.

We’ll see how this goes. I am happy another black woman has a chance to host a talk show. It’s about time BET put some variety in their line-up. If i see Baby Boy, Juice, Menace to Society etc imma scream. All the black films we have and we get all the violent ones run “fiddy” times a week. I’m hoping this show will be different cause we don’t need another high drama, ghetto fab type of show. Definitely have enough of those on tv portraying us as spiteful, hateful, vindictive, and shallow people.

I’m going to come into this with an open-mind and give Monique an honest assessment plus a chance to do her thing.

I wish I could be happy for her, but Im afraid its just gonna be another minstrel show. I hope Im wrong, and can congratulate her when she goes into season two of a new thought provoking yet funny show (wishful thinking).

I can’t wait to see the show! I know it is going to be as good. The lady is a comedian. That’s what she is made of. She makes me laugh at the silly BS that so many of us out here try to mask and act like we really don’t know or see. I am sick sick sick of all of the phony ronies running around here. It’s aggravating and it’s for those of us who just simply can not handle hearing, seeing and recognizing the truth.

Come on give her props for bringing her comedy to late night, people hatin of her just because…whatever. I remember when people was diss-ing martin, living single as well. I co-sign with DaintyJen. So many of you are nailing this woman to a cross & crucifying her BEFORE even giving her a chance. This to me is “indicative” of what we do to each other!!! Instead of encouraging,uplifting,and motivating one another we’d rather degrade,insult and denigrate each other. Sad truly sad (smh). This is a CLASSIC example of why many of our programs go into syndication or off the air after one season and why many black businesses & enterprise do not thrive. We’d rather give our love, support and encouragement to MAINSTREAM America but to hell with our own. Some of you are truly the problem and not the solution. It’s a sad state of affairs out here *still shaking my head*.

Go Monique Go. I watched a little bit of the show tonight and it was pretty good. Not only is she hilarious but she is also humble and real. It is wonderful that she is on network as BET but I think that she has the potential to be on other larger networks to reach a broader audience.

It aint hate or tearing down, her character is what makes it useless… She not doing this show to educate or edify us as a people, another paycheck to tell jokes, and talk about people. They could have got one of the Queens of Comedy if they wanted someone to tell jokes, Monique don’t have a serious element in her body, other then calories and heart blockage. Give an educated black woman the format so we can address issues and not just tell jokes and talk about meaningless garbage, my opinion is just a suggestion, I haven’t been a fan of BET since Video Soul left so I really could care less, I aint gone watch it no way.

regardless of how it is, its not like shes all ghetto/childish like “the atl housewives” or these women on these black love shows on vh1 (who are some of the biggest sellouts & contributors to the stereotypes against us). I just dont understand why a sista cant just do her and not get degraded by her own…but its whatever the hate will continue, nobody cares until they hear the word “n-i-g-g-e-r” or when somebody gets shot.

I know she aint got no creative control over this show, and if she did wouldn’t none of it go into empowerment. We can can go back and forth about hate/congratulate don’t mean a thing, she got a strong opinion and not afraid to speak her mind, but she’s been known to stick her foot (as well as other things) in her mouth. OMG I love Mo! I watch the show yesterday and tonight. I actually got a lump in my throat how humble and grateful she was. You could feel the energy and love thru the TV. I love how she looks fly every night. Looks like she is having a ball. Love you Mo and I will support you anywhere.

Mo’Nique I absolutely love and admire you. I am so proud of the way you have carried yourself as a Big Beautiful Black Queen!! Congratulations on your show. I would love to make sure I caught every single episode. HOWEVER, I cannot support BET and especially Shelia Johnson, the most ignorant African American Co-founder on the face of the Earth!!! BET has been on a downward slope since VIACOM took ownership. Video Soul was the staple of the BET entity and poof it’s gone. I felt like I was watching MTV when I tuned in! BET I can appreciate the Sunday morning Gospel shows cause they’re unlike any other network, but, now I’ll just play my Gospel cd’s while getting ready for church.
