Tom Joyner Talks Chicago Cancellation

We always say that when we come back from vacation something big has either happened or is about to happen. Well, this one topped them all.  After 16 years, the Tom Joyner Morning Show won’t be broadcast on a local Chicago radio station, at this time. For Sybil and me, our relationship with the Chicago radio listeners goes back more than 20 years and believe me it has not ended by any stretch of the imagination.

Friends and family in the Chicago market will continue to listen to the Party with a Purpose on www.BlackAmericaWeb.com. So this isn’t the end, it’s just a change, so please pass his e-mail along to them.

Even though we’re heard in more than 100 markets around the country, Chicago is home, it’s the Mother Ship, the Flagship, all those words that mean it is the place that launched the TJMS. It’s where we came from and where we always could go back to.   And we’re still there, just in a different way-for now!

We’ve had great times in Chicago and we’ll be there soon to officially thank the thousands and thousands of you who made us what we are, and will be here with us as we take this to another level. We got where we are by knowing who you are, what you want and by Super Serving our audience, just like my mentor John H. Johnson taught me to do.  This world is changing but the doing the right thing never does, and we will continue to do what we’ve always done for the African American Community.

    To tell the truth, The TJMS is wack! Thats something thats meant for the more “mature” audience. Their style of humor is corny and kinda lame. I listen to the Rickey Smiley morning show here in the STL.

    Now just wait a minute. I LOVE the TJMS and now I no longer listen the radio in the morning as I am getting dressed for work. I am pretty disturbed by the fact that ClearChannel would run that other morning show, simutaneously on two stations, Damn!! Give me a break. Tom Joyner’s show is thought provoking, plus they play good music. Wow, ClearChannel!!!!

    With the state of Black America, we dont need a show like his. Its full of jokes, vulgar, silliness, and music. All they do is play, and mock news. Clearchannel is just making sure that TJMS dont ever raise the level of thinking of blackpeople. Its the same with the Monique show. Its full of stupidity, full of sex talk, drinking, and partying. These shows were set up to keep the blackman and woman where we are. At the bottom. So, they put them on and they have no real answers, nor are they allowed to really get true info out less they be cut off the air. So, we dont have the Tavis show, Bev Smith show, no black news anywhere, just shake your butt, throw your money in the air, get drunk, have sex, leave your man for me music. Nothing to enlighten us. So GOOD, I hated that show!!!

    The TJMS is for mature, conscious audiences only!!! Humor goes a long way toward making some of the bulls**t we as Black people in this society must continue digest while trying to not get sick in the process!!!
    here is wisdom: to be ignorant of the facts is not a crime b/c that ignorance can easily be remedied by one being exposed to the necessary information… however, to to be stupid is the inability to process new information… SO! according to mrdgjames@yahoo.com / to be ignorant of the facts is not a crime to be stupid in spite of the facts certainly is a tradgety…

    I fully concur- I have never like the TJMS! That stupid ‘oh oh oh- it’s the Tom Joyner Stupid Azz Show!’ Ummm hella no!
