New York — The shortage of Black movies in 2010 was clear when you went to the theater.

Except for  “Just Wright” and the ghetto farce “Lottery Ticket,” it was perhaps the whitest year for Hollywood since the post-Richard Pryor, pre-Spike Lee 1980s.

    May the best talent win…
    I see no reason to apply affirmative action to art.
    I mean, ask yourself, which films, directors and actors created the best work, not which minority actors did a good enough job to merit an award.

    Besides, Blacks aren’t the only minorities in America, you know.

    Just like the day when my dad was alive….and they had RACE FILMS in the 1930s/40s….way mORE than they do NOW, SMDH……..

    It was very noticeable to me. I”m really hoping that OWN can start producing movies for the masses. Every time I turn on Tv or look at an entertainment magazine, I see young,white, unknown actors getting their big break. Please, can someone make a romance about a black man falling in love with a black woman with no gang violence, or abuse in it AND not a comedy?
