Spike Lee has made some very good films over the years…..but his constant complaints of the lack of diversity in films/tv is starting to sound more like “whining” and as if the whitefolks owe him something. Too whom much is given, much is required……..more is expected of you Spike than the same ole “angry black man” syndrome……jmo

First of all, I probably would agree with Spike Lee, if he didn’t have his own agenda..Second, at what point will people stop talking about what is needed within a certain industry, when they are not PREPARED to enter into that industry. Saying it does not make it so…..What IF the industry was ready to open itself up…would we as black people be READY and up to the task??!!

I think people need to research the HISTORY of Hollywood and understand WHY things are the way they are. In fact, some people need a LESSON in AMERICAN and BLACK History…cause many are clueless.

I agree with one point of yours…However, that won’t happen because too many are so self-absorbed that unity is not in their vocabulary. Black people need economic change and that won’t happen just opening up a barber shop or beauty salon. Lastly, how about getting educationed?!!…An educated man (or woman) is a free one.

Because owning (or sponsoring) a production is not the same as being involved in HIGH FINANCE. That is what it takes to be involved in Hollywood..The ability to negotiate, to fiance, to conduct business. Most film makers allow their money to work for them. There is a method and most do not even know about it.

I don’t know what y’all are talkin about, but I thought the main reason why Spike even started doing films is to gear towards the black coomunity, his and our’s communtiy? I think maybe y’all misunderstand what he’s saying here.
