Fans have been waiting with bated breath for comic genius Dave Chappelle to come out on a grand scale and do what he does best: make people holla!  During an interview with Vulture about his film “2 Days in New York,” Chris Rock revealed that he has been in talks with Chappelle about a possible tour that was inspired by Kanye West and Jay-Z‘s “Watch the Throne” tour last year.

Last fall, there were rumors about a comedy show that would feature the funny duo, and if all went well, the outcome would be a possible tour. The rumor quickly got squashed because neither Rock nor Chappelle said anything about a tour until now.

Rock spoke to Vulture not only about his upcoming projects but about his efforts to try to get Chappelle to budge about joining him on an expansive comedy tour:

I’ve been talking to Chappelle a lot. Been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour.  You know I’m not the hard one.  Obviously, his last statement is referring to the elusive Chappelle.

Chappelle, 38, made the decision to bow out of the major spotlight, when he voluntarily stepped away from his hit cable network comedy show in its third season back in 2005.  At the time, the comedian said the show was ruining his life and getting in the way of his stand-up career.

Now, Rock is keeping hope alive that Chappelle will make the smart move and join him on a tour that could quite possibly sell out everywhere:

I’m trying to make that happen. After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, Me and Dave should do this.
