that worst possible school you could picked to attack the ncaa regarding black athletes is florida state. if i recall right they have a good reputations in academics theyve had more than one black athlete become a rhodes scholar and have theyre share of athletes on all acc acaedemic team. myron rolle for one. athletics wise theyre intelectually brilliant they may have bad apples but theyre a smart group of guys.

There is two sides to every story. Yes I beleive that the ncaa do not care about black athletes education but I do not beleive it is there fault. As parents and as students we need to take more of a proactive aproach on our education. These students could have picked a better school if this is the case, when florida has a losing record due to decling black players im sure they will fix this problem, remember now united we stand divided we fall......

When I read things like "a student requested a more demanding major, and was released from the team", then reflect on the fact that this team just had a Rhode Scholar on it last year, I have a hard time seeing your point. Now, I'm not going to be naive either, I'm sure most schools would prefer these athletes be in lightweight programs so they can have more time for their respective sport, but at the end of the day, who is responsible for MY education? We really need to break out of this slave mentality we are saddled with, (including you Mr. Watkins) and start doing things for ourselves. If education was paramount in these guys lives throughout HS, Grade school, etc. this wouldn't be an issue, because they would have enough sense to take something meaningful. I don't fault these athletes either, because the focus in my opinion, should be placed on the type of education most of them are receiving in 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade and so on. Fix that, and you won't have to be whining about what the NCAA is doing to us. If we are letting them do it, aren't we to blame?
