OPINION: Is LeBron James A Sore Loser?

Just a few months ago, LeBron James was the king of the world. He was awarded the NBA’s coveted MVP Award; his Cavalier team had the best record in the league, and was destined for a championship. NBA fans around the world were infatuated with the possibility of a Kobe vs. LeBron showdown in the NBA Finals and with a push by Nike’s advertisement team, this was LeBron’s year for the taking.

Everyone was ready to become a “witness.”

But all good things must come to an end, and for King James they came to an abrupt halt.

LeBron’s downward spiral began when his Cavs’ were embarrassed and outplayed by the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals, in which James walked off the court without shaking hands with his opponents. This act drew him a lot of criticism as a sore loser, and having bad sportsmanship. He also ducked the post game interviews, which kind of looked like he was running away from defeat.

LeBron’s image took a big hit in the eyes of many.

Then, last week’s story of LeBron being dunked on by college player, Jordan Crawford, at LeBron’s Skills Academy Camp, made things worse. The now legendary story claims that Crawford’s dunk on James was caught on tape, but feeling the embarrassment, LeBron told Nike reps to confiscate the video never to be seen by the public eye. Since then, the scandal has been comically called “Tape-Gate”.

I personally like LeBron James, but right now he looks like a big baby who can never be upstaged by anyone. Not shaking hands, for me, is understandable; but asking Nike to conceal tapes to avoid embarrassment is just too much. I know LeBron isn’t used to being on the receiving end of a dunk, but hey, it happens to everyone sooner or later.

So what do you think? Is LeBron James a sore loser?

    LOL this guy is faker than any butt implants Ive seen from Video girls. I always have looked at Lebron sideways from the time he step into the league.The guy was in high school with the same size he is right now, which is 6-9 270-290 solid. When was the last time youve seen anybody with that type of body mass??? from my recollection it’s baseball STEROIDS ERA. The difference is the NBA drug testing is limited to recreational drugs. Moreover, this is the same man that adamantly do not want to sign the petition to help DARFUR, SUDAN. The same man that stated he rather be the first black athlete to be a billionaire than be active in the community. He rather be part of the problem than part of the solution.And can somebody tell me, how can you be a KING when You havent done anything????

    I’m not a LeBron fan and I will never be a fan of his as long as they try to act like he’s the best player in the game since Michael Jordan but as long as he stays healthy, he’s gonna be someone to reckon with in the NBA. He’s good but he’ll never be as good as the hype he’s got since he got in the league. Of course, Nike has something to do with that…the NBA too. I guess it’s easy for the NBA to have one guy they like to go thru so they’ve been looking for the next Jordan for some time now. They can keep on looking…how can you be king of something that you don’t run? If he was as good as the hype, he’d of got a championship already. Tim Duncan got one his rookie year.

    It sure seems like he is a sore loser.

    I have no problem with him not shaking hands at the end of a game when there is a tough loss because that is a sign of frustration.

    The probleme that I have is him not answering questions from the media in the post game news conference.

    He is very quick to step to the podium when he is hitting game winning shots, and his team is sweeping teams in playoff series.

    He should do the the same thing when his team loses.

    Having said that, he could play for me anytime.

    I have never seen a group of ppl hate so much??!!! It takes years sometimes to build a great team how could he have been had a championship if he dont even have a real fucckin team??!! West or Williams helped him hardly he was averagig points a game and u tellin me thats not a king

    Who was ever taught that being a loser is a good thing? He is not the first and won’t be the last sore loser. If you got your ass whipped in a fight would you be a sore loser I think so. You always want to win that’s just with everything you do in life

    Lebron is a spoiled brat. The NBA is just “waiting” to hand the league over to him. But he hasnt been able to take it yet. His attitude in front of the public is that of a really cool dude with jokes. Behind closed doors they say he b***hes and throws temper tantrums like a lil girl. I believe the latter based on how he left the playoffs. But hey some people are blessed to the point they can act that way so it is what it is. “shrugs”

    me bein from the same city and playin with him he aint no sore loser make along story short i kind of feel him on that he not mad at the other team he mad at his team because he worked that hard to get where they was and they gave up on him he keeps everbody in the game and they let him down it dont give him a reason to give up like he did but at the same time why play if aint nobody else go play real talk

    The media is so full of it they have to find something wrong with everyone if they can’t unwrap a drug, weapon or some other felony charge on an athlete, especially the black ones; and besides, newsone is 52% negative and 45% b**s***, the other 3% has some perks.
