Yo, we all make mistakes, whether they be dumb mistakes or not. But, to throw this brother in jail for shooting himself is over the top and yes, race has a lot to do with it. How in the hell do you give Michael Vick jail time for what he did, and what Europeans have murdered and slain not only animals on their safaris, and Sarah Palin and others shooting wolves for “sport”, but also, the enslavement of billions of Africans??!! Human beings! These bastards cherish their dogs (their best friend while in the caves of Europe) more than they do hueman life! That is fact and historical! Why isn’t PETA speaking up about what Sarah Palin and others do on a regular basis, for sport????

Look, I don’t condone what Michael Vick has done. It was cruel and unjust and he should have known better, but let’s be real people, had he been a caucasian, he would have gotten a slap on the wrist.

In my opinion, Burress should get no jail time. Probation and community serive should be suffice. Look at his record! There is no history of law breaking. He doesn’t need to be stripped of his dignity, and humiliated. Suffice to say, it’s done that on his own. But jail time is crazy!

It’s amazing to me that people keep throwing the term ‘unliciensed’ around. Licensing is a state requirement. This same gun if possessed in twenty plus other states in our Union would have been legal. Licensing is just a way for state governments to get into the business of the private population. If a person has a right to own property, just as a person has a right to own a hammer, watch, or car if he or she chooses, why would the state have to license it? I can believe how the populous in these antigun states have so readily accepted brainwashing. Now the facts are that Mr. Burress had a Florida permit. It is also a fact that New York does not recognize a permit from any other state and the city does not recognize permits from within there own state! Is this government bureaucracy or what! Anyone with two quarters to rub together for brain cells could deduce that Mr. Burress probably did not know how to handle this gun properly but should he go to jail for possessing a firearm across an imaginary border when the same gun would have been legal a few hundred miles down the highway….say in Virginia. It’s also so infuriates me that most of us Black people are all for more gun control laws when there were virtually no gun control laws before we were freed. Gun control laws are not about controlling guns at all; they are about controlling the rights of people. If people would read more credible science based literature, they will realize that gun control only fuels crime because criminals are more likely to be armed than the citizen (More Guns Less Crime John R. Lott). I think a of these people calling for Mr. Buress to go to jail are broke, disgusted, underachievers who think all successful rich people should be punished for having a good time and a good life ‘off the backs of the little man’. I have never been to New York and as long as it has a draconian mindset as it relates to the right to bear arms, I will not be going! New York can kiss my county ass!
