Lorenzen Wright Found Dead: Possible Suicide

MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police are investigating the body of a man who was found in Southeast Memphis and a source tells Eyewitness News that is Lorenzen Wright.

According to sources, the body was found in the wooded area of Hacks Cross and Winchester Road. It appears, sources say he had been shot and it may be self-inflected.

Germantown police say a 911 call has been turned over to Memphis police in connection to this investigation.

    What would make him do it? Nothing in life is ever so bad that you have to take your own life. I mean from the outside… He looks like he had it all. Most young men aspire to be like him or to have the opportunities he did. My prayers and condolences to his family.

    Ok…another report on this death stated that he was shot more than 10 TIMES in a field or something..said they had a 9-11 call from his cell phone that had multiple gunshots in the background…not a suicide.

    How are the accounts so different?

    I heard that Lorenzen Wright was found outside a wooded area and had been shot 12 times just like Johnny_Walker did. This is the first article I’ve seen with the words “possible suicide.”

    My condolences to his family. This is so tragic. To think he left for the airport and never made it. SMH

    Clearly this article predates the 911 call being released to investigators. Considering he was missing a week it sounds like someone in Memphis isn’t doing a good job of notifying police of emergency calls from victims while the crime is happening. There’s a reason he didn’t call back or stay on the call and it’s not because he shot himself 12 times.

    That was no suicide!! how could it be?? someone shooting themself 10-12 times!!! THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MURDER. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family through this difficult time, may he rest in peace…and the criminals brought to justice.
