The Miseducation of Michael Jackson
From Pitts Indeed, by Jonathan Pitts-Wiley
This is the last few hundred words I’ll devote to Michael for a while.
40 out of 50: The number of years Michael Jackson spent on earth as a public figure. 5: The (likely) number of years he remembered before becoming a star.
Then life changed. He was a poor kid from Gary, Indiana who suddenly had every thing a kid could want. Why did he have it? Because he was young and talented. Unlike most kids, charismatic youth didn’t merely get Michael his way; it allowed him to make a more than comfortable living in which people showered him with fanatic adulation. For Michael Jackson, idyllic childhood memories include working full time as the charismatic boy frontman of a band everyone loved.
But there were traumas as well. Some of the most significant include the fading of the Jackson Five, being told he was no longer the youthful star people once knew (and this doesn’t begin to take into account the affect his father had on his life). As he developed and aged within youth, he felt the sting of premature mortality otherwise known as adolescence. He stopped being cute and developed acne. Gone was the cute youngster. In his place was a young man going through an awkward phase. In life as he knew it, he had grown old and unloved.
And before he had a chance to live among us mortals, to go through the unique growing pains many child stars experience, Off The Wall happened and he was once again a superstar, handsome and loved. I think it’s this moment, just before he re-entered the stratosphere he decided: I’ll never experience anything like adolescence again. And here, Michael Jackson’s maturation was arrested forever.

« Previous 1 2Michael Jackson
Breaking the Barrier and Defeating the Double Standard
Elvis was “The King”
But his wife was 14
And they called Mike a pedophile
Who are they kidding now?
If the King of Pop was strange
Then “The King of Rock” was insane
He ate himself to death
Smoking dope to ease the pain
Then they went and made him an idol
But he didn’t deserve the title
Stayed hidden in his house for days
Because he didn’t deserve the praise
He stole everything he had
Should have been just a fad
Some say he was pretty good
But “Mike” showed them who was BAD
He broke down racial barriers
The King of Pop was a pioneer you see
Michael Jackson was the first black artist
To desegregate a racist MTV
He was a chart topper making hit after hit
Dazzling us with his musical genius time after time
He stepped on stage and changed the world
Singing and dancing his way into your heart and mine
No other artist can compare or even come close
To the level of his success and what he achieved
I think I shall never see again in this lifetime
The world grieve for an artist the way he was grieved
He was ridiculed and crucified by the media
And hung in public court before the verdict was ever read
But he never let down the millions of fans he had around the world (including myself)
And for this he’ll live on in our hearts and never be dead
His career spanned over 40 years
He came to us as a gift and even as a child he gave us his all
With beautiful magic and a sparkle in his eyes
He immediately began tearing down racial walls
It’s so hard to let go
“I never can say goodbye”
Michael, they appreciated you more after death
But that’s just “human nature”, WHY?
You had a memorial befit for a king
In death your spirit arose to shine even brighter
And though some still deny your light
You continue to ascend,
So it’s okay, float on Peter Pan, fly away
For your memory shall never end
In life you were humble, at times appearing as innocent as a child
And you never hesitated to give
No matter what they say, Michael, you will always be considered
“The greatest entertainer that ever lived”.
By Hayward Lyle
I’M GOING TO SAY THIS TO ANY AND EVERYONE THAT’LL READ IT!! THE LIES THOSE CHILDREN TOLD ABOUT MICHEAL,WERE THEIR PARENTS DOING JUST TO GET HIS MONEY.. HE NEVER ONCE PUT HIS HANDS ON ANY OF THOSE CHILDREN.
MICHEAL’S LIFE WAS ONE OF A KIND FROM THE DAY HE WAS BORN AND WHEN HE WAS DISCOVERED,
THAT WAS HIS SKY ROCKETING FLIGHT TO TAKE OFF AND KEEP GOING!! OH!! HE TOOK OFF AND PRODUCED MORE HITS THAN ANY ARTIST THAT EVER LIVED. YES!! WE SHOULD LOVE MICHEAL,YES WE SHOULD CONTINUE TO PLAY HIS MUSIC,BECAUSE WITH THE KIND OF SOUL AND HEART MICHEAL HAD, HE WILL ALWAYS BE A PART OF THIS WORLD FOREVER!!
you know..despite all of the rumors and controversies that he may or may have not done, his legacy..his music..his passion outweighs all of that. he is truly the greatest of all. And because of that, I could careless what anyone says. Remember those for their greatest memories not their worse. May you finally rest in peace MJ.
i really feel bad for the way ppl treated him and has been treating him even now!!! i dont get it wat he did so bad to make ppl wanted to make his life like hell!! so wat if he did something wrong coz he was jus a human and we all got bad sides and good sides. we are between good and bad. noone is perfect. as a superstar u have no idea how much stress the media gave to him and ruined his life, i wanted to know if he ever been happy or he gotta put up s**t all his life from ppl around him.
i ve read time magazine that has mj on cover and one small article mj said about himself
” i used always cried for loniness”
damm!!!
i love u mj
Like Michael once said: “It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white.” What matters is the legacy and the name we make for ourselves in life so that God (who is a real entity and not something just within us), can judge us appropriately. Humans have no idea what we are doing. History proves that. That’s why ONLY God and not others can read whats in our hearts and why we do the things we do. I think Michael kept a lot tp himself because people judged him without knowing what he was really about. He was judged even when he didn’t speak in public. Sad. I do not believe in idol worship, for the Bible scriptures condemn that. However, I do respect the body of work Michael was able to give the world.
No Human Alive is ever gonna to be able to fathom what it was like for MJ. And I think that commenting on something that only he has experienced in his life is wrong. The biggest truth of the matter is, we lost not only the greatest entertainer the world has ever know. But one of the greatest men the world has know. not one celebrity (black or other wise) did the amount of charity work mj did. (another world record in the amount of 300 million in his lifetime). I believe that our society and his father is responsible for the torment this man felt in his lifetime. Just like us to build someone up just to turn around and tear them right back down again. Michael Jackson deserved a lot more from our planet because he didn’t just talk about healing and change, he actually tried to do something about it. Think
EVERYBODY JUST DO ME A FAVOR…DO NOT SUPPORT STUPIDITY! JUST GO INTO A ROOM, BUILDING, TUNNEL ETC…PUT ON UR FAVORITE MICHAEL SONG (IF U ONLY HAV ONE) AND DANCE YA AZZ OFF UNTIL U PASS OUT! THATS HOW WE SHOULD REMMEBER THIS GREAT BEAUTIFUL SOUL!
Michael was who he was because he did what most of us do…he put his faith in people and not in GOD. He gave his father the power over his life.GOD is the spirit we are born into but at a very young age and unfortunately through our parents….we stop beleiving .Look into the faces of our black children, into their eyes and you can see the pain and unhappiness ingrained in their spirit.Life is not about money it is our journey of forgiveness and learning how to truly love ourselves and share that love with others.
PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS going to say something negative about people, no matter how good they are. They would say something bad about Mother Theresa! I’ve heard people call Obama’s mother white trash and his father some black nigga from a hut! They accuse him of being an antichrist for his views and he’s the President of the the United States.. They talk about Mike, like a dog because they get off bringing other public figures down. Just evil minded souls.
Anyways, no matter how Micheal looked he was a global music icon, period!! His record sales were off the hook! He was a GREAT performer!! I think he needed some constant counseling especially about his childhood and self-esteem. I use to be extremely shy myself as a kid..and some people get over it and others don’t. Anyways, Rest in Peace Micheal J. I hope you find eternal peace and everlasting love. May the Heavenly Father be the Father to fill your void of Fatherly Love!
OMG ITS SO F**KEN SAD DAT MICHAEL JACKSON IS GONE.I WAS SHOCKED LIKE A MUTHERF**KER,BUT BLESS HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.IM SORRY FOR THE LOST AND R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON.I LOVE YOU
Oh, Michael. Why couldn’t you love and accept yourself the way that your fans loved and accepted you? There was nothing wrong with you as a black man. You would have grown into a nice-looking black man if you would have just let things be. We still would have loved you, accepted you, and would have thought you to be the king in Music that you came to be. Michael needed some help and I think it’s said that those in his circle exploited his lack of self-esteem instead of trying to help him (and that includes his family). This man basically was a victim of his own self loathing and self-mutilation and no one did anything to stop it. It’s just sad. Well no matter what, his music will be legendary. He will be legendary — regardless of his internal issues.
LOL Damn That one person went hard on Mike and LMAO about R. Kelly but it aint right to judge people especially since none of us are perfecdt they are just people and people do weird s**t Michael said it best in his Song Human Namture, so alot of s**t people do cant be explained if disagree with someones actions just pray for them to change and keep it movin there is no benefit in passing judgment on them because that could easily be someone u no and love so just think about your words and choose them wisely.
lmao@ yall comments. yall silly….anyways… RIP MJ. Forever missed.
WHOEVER WROTE THIS ABOUT MJ. CAN GO RIGHT STRAIGHT TO HELL. u just made b/c ur not an icon or a legend. you need to respect this man and, let him r.i.p. IF U DON’T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, DON’T SAY S**T. U P***K!

he was a sick f**k and all you mj fans(AND I AINT ONE)know he was a deranged an demented muthaf**ker who prayed on little boys when he had you believeing he loved them.stop blameing his daddy and blame him,his daddy did what black mommas what black daddys to do,which is lite a fire under their little asses.look at this way mike and the rest of the jaskson clan could still in gary in,an outta work steel worker or better yet pimping janet and latoya(WHOS ALSO A SICK F**K).so stop ur whinning and play ur mj albums and wait for r kellys sick ass to come back into the news,i saw him over at the playground with a bag of nowlaters and some snickers candy bars with drool runnin down his face.
mike, was a great man no mater what his mistakes are…we all have our bad side and the plastic surgery was his..he will always be in my heart coz have loved him since childhood.
Michael Jackson wanted to be white so bad, he really f*cked himself up with all that plastic surgery and sh*t! He stayed covered up because he didn’t want a tan, the sun would tan his skin and he did’nt want it to be dark again.
F*ck all that…how is Janet Jackson doing? How is she taking all this, i haven;t heard anything about her and i know they were the closest outta the siblings!!
@ pic 97, I remember I was a little kid and I must have been fast or something cuz my heart used to skip a beat & I’d get butterflies everytime I saw that pic or Thriller……..I told my mom that I was gonna marry Michael…….He had some AMAZIN skin………I just wanted to touch it soooooooo bad!!!!!!!!!! boy o’ boy, if he’d ONLY KNEW how FINE he was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Photo #26 it was “Billy Jean” that Launch his solo career. The “Thriller video/short movie” just enhance his solo career and gave him the strength he need to be where he ended today; The King, A Icon, A Legend. Thanks Mike for alot of memories
I’m so tired of hearing excuses as to why Miachael Jackson felt he needed to change his skin color and facial structure. Everybody gets teased. Everybody has gone through an awkward phaze. Everybody has had acne. If shabba Ranks, Whoopi Goldberg, Tracey Chapman, Missy Elliot, Fantasia, and countless other black celebs, whom most people consider ugly because of their dark skin and overly afroscentric features, do not go to the extreme, then he did not have to either. years later, with only a ghost of a nose and a face so botched that he had to hide it behind a surgery mask, millions of people still loved him and awaited his next album, and it was becuase people couldnt have given two s**ts how cute he was as long as he could dance and made us want to dance, or f**k, or cry through his music, which he did!!! I just hope that he and Lil kim will serve as examples to millions of black kids who look in the mirror and wish that they could change things about their images. I hope they google pictures of michael and Kim before the operations and see how beautiful they were and how scary they became after the surgery and change their minds.
it looks like he has on a mask in photo 20.. poor guy he let society tell him he was not beautiful..
he should have stopped messing with his face at photo 13…
There will never be anyone to bless us with the talent and be a part of us like Michael did!
I LIKE PHOTO #49 HE LOOKED SO HAPPY…
