14-Year-Old Charged With Derrion Albert’s Murder
CHICAGO – A fourth teen is facing murder charges in the beating death of a Chicago high school honor student last month.
The 14-year-old’s name isn’t being released. He was charged Thursday as a juvenile and is expected to appear Friday before a juvenile court judge.
Three other teens have been indicted on murder charges in the Sept. 24 beating of Derrion Albert, which was caught on a cell phone camera.
Albert was a sophomore at Christian Fenger Academy High School. The camera footage shows him being hit with boards and kicked as he lay on a sidewalk. The beating was blamed on tensions between students.
Albert’s death and a rise in Chicago youth violence have attracted the attention of federal officials, including Attorney General Eric Holder and Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

i agree old enough to take a life he should have no life as well only prison life until he die in adult facility this what i will do for murderers and killers if i was in charge since a victim is dead and victim’s family no longer can see feel touch or talk same goes to the killer after the trial is over and he or she is convicted all family members have one time to see there murderous relative and it will be the last

We need to recognize them, attempt to help/salvage them but when they prove themselves to be an enemy of our people and a hindrance to our freedom then they must be isolated and if necessary turned over to the white controlled criminal justice system…They’re not worthy of our love, loyalty or protection. Wow beat with boards, I understand people get into fights but to take it so far to be beating someone with boards, ive seen people kicked in the head and face..THats terrible! Fight get it over with, dont kill each other. Whatever they were fighting over probably wasnt even that serious. And im not condoning fighting but it happens. Sad that he died..and theres more kids that will be locked up before they could live their lives. Prison will bring them up, so sad
