The message about Africa was powerful as well. Most Black Americans feed into the stereotypes regarding Africa and Africans fed to us by the media (ran by white people). We read the stories and watch the commercials, and we don’t want to be connected with such poverty and savagery. In the same way, some Africans see Black Americans as lazy and classless. In the interim, we destroy relationships with people who, because of our shared pigmentation, must deal with the same bull we deal with. But because of these fictions and skewed accounts of our cultures, we remain separated and our combined strength and intelligence is damaged. We are, consequently, not prepared to demand and fight for what is right because we are too busy bickering amongst ourselves.

Like the bickering that is going on between black men and women which is based on so much more than what we see. We have inherited feelings and emotions for each other that we are not consciously aware of. But since we are so easily distracted and we fight amongst ourselves about the most insignificant things, we destroy our futures by destroying our families. Black men and women can date and love whoever they choose, but by choosing to date and have children outside of our race, by abandoning our men and women, we are destroying our race. Which is fine by most people since they think we are monkeys and idiots incapable of carrying on a decent conversation and undeserving of certain liberties, and it’s also fine with many people of our own race who find so little to celebrate and respect in each other.

It’s too bad that this will continue, and Black Americans will, on some level, hate each other and themselves because they see on television and on the news how gross, ignorant, and downright stupid Black people seem to be, even if it is just one facet of Black culture. To top it off, we have to interact every day with people of other races who see those Black people in the media and assume that you must be like those people because you are Black and then treat you accordingly.

But alas we a part of a culture that is and will be forever divided, and although this article is somewhat uplifting because it reminds us of the other facets of black culture, it will be of no consequence because we are being represented by the worst ignorance that our race as to offer. Since the positive side of Black culture either cares less as long as it doesn’t reach them specifically or wastes energy trying to fight the symptoms –racists and derogatory comments, inequality, the word Ni??r –instead of the problem –the bad apples that are representing our culture, our own declining values and sense of self (culturally speaking) that continues to destroy us–, we will continue to falter, and in the eyes of other cultures, as well as ourselves, we will continue to be weak and inferior and inept.

I also raised the point that I was looking at the Nancy Grace show right after I had read it here, and all they talked about is the MODEL who husband by the police account had killed her. This story was hitting the media every hour on the hour. In my view a life is a life. Whose to say because she was a model that her life is more precious than the Black women in North Carolina. Poor journalism and poor reporting for failure to disclose news.

I had also mentioned if on this very same topic, if a child goes missing dependent on the age of the child, the police, media would label the child as a runaway or just plain missing. I know for a fact the GOVERNMENT could care less about our little black children, we have to form our SEARCH PARTIES and do the work ourselves. What a shame !!!

All we hear are negative statements concerning our BLACK MEN, as if they do not have any emotions which are untrue.

I can only talk on what I know and I am one that refuses to allow anyone any longer dictate to me who and what I shall worship. It is about choices and I have taken my position.

Gay people I have nothing against, whatever they do that do not affect me is their business we all have to answer to a higher power for something whoever we are, rich, poor or in between.

There are plenty of Educated Black Women married and unmarried. There are plenty of Educated Black Women that are educated through experiences in life that are doing whatever it takes to not only survive but provide for their families.

The BOTTOM LINE, THE MEDIA IS FOR ITSELF.
WHEN ARE WE GOING TO BE FOR OURSELVES?

Maybe more Black woman SHOULD date outside of their race. Look at Brazil, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, they have been doing it – even though race is still a problem there, but at least they are mixing.

Its time for Black people in America to wake up and realize that Black people are not going to get their own provinces nor states in Amerikkka.

I will give Black people in America credit: ya love to try to unify even though its an idle success.

What is left of the so-called Black race in America….and what is left of the so-called White race in America will eventually dissipate among other races in America. So fcukin what?? Most of ya so called Black people are not even pure Black anyway even a lot of ya are close to it.

Combat Feminism first and then go back and worry about Nationalism.

Feminism is killing the nuclear family structure via those federal programs like section 8 that pay to keep men out of the house hold with the government being the new daddy.

Strong independence doesnt exist because most so called Black people dont own natural resources nor supermarket chains to grow and produce their own sh%t.

Alas Nationalism will never erect itself with Feminism still dividing and conquering in the so called Black diaspora in Amerikkka.

I feel the same way about about white women… I love my sisters but why would I want to deal with angry, nasty, bitter Shaniqua when Becky is nicer, sweeter and lets me in?

I don’t know whats up the statistics concerning educated Black women, without a husband or kids. Maybe these women do not want either or just one or the other. There are many Black women in my college, and the ones I call friends do not have kids yet. I do hope they hold it off until/if they get married. I read somewhere that the Black women with good jobs only want Black men with good jobs, but usually there aren’t many available Black men in there in there class. And alot of Black women do not date outside their race. I love Black men, but I’d rather have a Japanese man who treats me the way I want to be treated and who is on my level(financially, educated, values) than to have a man that Black and thats all. Cus some Black men with money have been known to date outside the race in a heartbeat. More often than Black men, Black women are loyal to their men. Maybe Black men really are intimidated by successful Black women, who know? But there are good, smart, and hard working Black women out there and I’m glad they made to the top. A man and kids do no make a female, a woman.
