Unemployment
The number of newly laid-off workers filing claims for unemployment insurance has fallen to the lowest level since early January, a sign the labor market is slowly improving.

The Labor Department says first-time claims for jobless benefits dropped to a seasonally-adjusted 514,000 from an upwardly revised 524,000 the previous week. The fifth decline in six weeks is below Wall Street economists’ forecasts of 525,000, according to Thomson Reuters.

The four-week average, which smooths fluctuations, fell for the sixth straight time to 531,500.

The tally of people continuing to claim benefits dropped by 75,000 to 5.99 million, its first time below 6 million since the week of March 28.

Whats at an all time high is “UNINTELLIGENCE” solve this problem and those who assume that “Unemployment” exist it will resolve itself. Self Employment is a full time job, Organized and Corporate is only in part, with the option to sell yourself. Knowledge is Power, Power is Resource, Resource is Independence!!!

FROM THE ARTICLE: “The number of newly laid-off workers filing claims for unemployment insurance has fallen to the lowest level since early January, a sign the labor market is slowly improving.” I’m LMAO and ROTF @ this BS. Improving LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL

Of course first time claims are down…. There are no jobs, no one is hiring and we are in a depression. Meanwhile those that were collecting UC have run out of their benefits and are no longer counted—That’s the problem with statistics….

As well, the part time workers who are unable to collected are not counted—SOooooo it’s all a lie of three different types—Lies, Dammed lies and statistics…..So people please don’t believe the BS

Wow…i just saw that 15 people commented on the armpit blog and only two here…No need to wonder what is wrong with our people…about the topic, both posts below me are right and exact. The problem Rok, as you know, is we are trained and condition to believe that working for Microsoft, Google, IBM etc. IS the American dream. Its obvious, the one’s who finance that conditioning, training which keeps us in a permanent dream state, are the CEO’s and board members of these companies. As far as the stats, you are absolutely right T-N-T…Govt stats are always skewed (i love when people use this word instead of lie so I thought I would use it to) to tell a different story. The headline unemployment number is 9.8% but not counting what they call discouraged workers. The Bureau of Labor statistics clearly report this number (U6) that includes what they call discouraged workers on their website, yet its impossible to find one news commentator who will quote that number which brings real unemployment to about 17%. When 70% of your GDP hinges on consumption, there is no such thing as a jobless recovery!

_A_ and Da_J_Rok: You’re both so right. When we take the time to invest in each other, use our skills instead of selling our selves off to what (dare I say) White America has deemed to be of import, We can rise up—But as it so happens many times—WE DON’T support each other but would rather spend money on inane things the man deems important. There was a time many Black business flourished–So I was told (being facetious) but they folded because those that owned the businesses forgot about community and those that patronized the businesses veered away because they thought the “OTHERS” product was better. So much talent–SO much waste—Sold off to support others instead of each other. That’s what we get for feeding into the capitalistic dream. Imagine if you will—-those working for others (as wincie below feels so fortunate for): If they/we pulled it together the other would be working for us and we would control the wealth, production and the country. Need to go back to African roots of self-sufficiency but alas, we are corrupted……

The civil rights era set us BACK so far. For the doubters, Picture it. If you couldn’t go to white owned establishments or areas, where did you go? Simple! You were “forced” to go to black owned establishments. Areas in the south that catered to the black community had built up such a strong community based economy, without even trying hard. This can be researched further by reading up on “Black Wall Street” its true that they derived their income from oil, but the money stayed in the community. People think Rosa Parks broke down barriers, but the fact of the matter was, when the subsequent boycott of the bus lines occurred, the city lost so much revenue, that they were “forced” to integrate the bus system. Economics drives this world, and when you become economically healthy as a individual, family or community, you will always be respected. The definition of economically healthy is when you are manufacturing your own wealth and using it for your full advantage, not having a job being paid 100k a year!

Black people consume 1.2 trillion per year and only get back less than 100 Billion today. Tomorrow will be different Black people have a lot of power in this country and in the world. We, the black people of the United States, should be rethinking how and where we drop our shells. We should be focusing on strenghthening the brown skinned peppercorned haired race here and abroad.

As far as unemployment is concerned, Black people are usually the last ones hired and the first ones fired. When we do get jobs, instead of trying to climb the corporate ladder only to run into a glass, ceiling we need to focus on being entreprenurial and starting our own business in our own community. Make that job a temporary thing until you get on your feet. We need to start our own businesses, purchase our own property and thrive in our own communities. The money is there. We are 40M strong in the United States, 1.9 billion strong worldwide. The world only uses 10 percent of all resources. Forty-Five percent of all potential resources are on the continent of Africa. When we unite and stand for life we will thrive and accelerate.

These are very frustrating times, but we are going to make it. We just have to be strong. We are the best at taking sour lemons and making lemonade. Black people in America have been through worse times then these. We are going to make it. Be strong. Save your money. Invest your money, and maximize your wealth, and help your brother and sister. Let’s work on keeping each other alive. At the end of the day we only have each other because everybody hates black people. We are strong people. We will get through these troubled times.
