I think this really says alot about a black 2 parent household…my black brothers and sisters if we raise our children in the right way then there’s almost no limit to what they can acheive, I have no doubt that his parents had a strong positive influence on him to reach for success so early on.

thanks for posting something positive. this should be headline news, on dateline,cnn and everywhere. i want to tell the world, black people are successful in other areas besides just entertainers or sports, we’re saving lives, running countries, changing the world. and our children are too.

I was so happy to see this story. God gave this present to a young black man. We can only say that god is smiling on our race. That means we need to continue to do the right thing. The blessings will continue to pour down on us. God promised us that this land would be ours. That is why we havw been going thru so much over the years in history. That was to make us stronger. They know they can’t handle the true intelligent human beings. We will continue to do great things in this country. If you white people want to survive, continue doing what you have for many hundreds of years. Making it thru hard times off the sweat of many minorities in the country. I’m happy GOD is in control. That is why no1 should made at them.

Black women are given hysterectomies more than White females. I read in the article he had some “help” along the way. From who? That White male standing beside him? Or some other White people from the White medical establishment? I wonder why the White “helpers” in his invention steered him toward this area of surgery where Black women are unfairly targetted for this procedure? I hope they do not use this young man’s achievement when “recommending” hysterectomies to Black women.

… I mean use this news to ‘encourage’ Black women to agree to these hysterectomies as a first solution to female problems that may have other remedies after seeking second opinions.

We should be happy when someone so young is so gifted but living in a country where there is still rampid racism in the healthcare industry, we should question why it was this procedure…

All I can say is thank God for this young man. I know my “white doctor” went against the suggestion when I mentioned hysterectomy. I was in a lot of pain during that time of the month. He recommended another procedure called the Davinci Surgical System. Its less invasive with a half a day recovery stay at the hospital and you recover in six to seven days . I had no pain in 3 days. And my regular insurance covered it.

Its not that black women are unfairly targeted for those kinds of things… its a known fact that alot of african american women do not go to the doctors regularly. SO when they do go they often try to get those procedures done when they first visit.

And don’t think for a second that this young man is the exception and not the rule! There are millions of other young African Americans who have ideas and want to do things with their lives. But the one thing that African Americans, THOSE WHO HAVE SOMETHING GOING FOR THEMSELVES, only asked for was the OPPORTUNITY! Nothing more and nothing less!!!!!!

You are so right. My agent dropped me after three years, because the world isn’t interested in stories about Blacks who aren’t ghetto affected, drug related, or the extreme multi-millionaires. How many true stories about Blacks do you see on Lifetime or television period. Fantasia was the last one I remember, oh was she a millionaire too. (Not sure) People think we are all just a bunch of made up stories like Precious, The Color Purple, and Their Eyes Were Watching God. Very few real movies about middle class Blacks with struggles.(The Cosby Show) I hope he goes on to great things, maybe he will get recognition like Dr. Daniel Hale Williams.
