During a recession/depression, which we r in now ppl get desparate. By definition a recession systematically occurs when unemployment is 20%+(media says 10% not to induce panic and doesnt take into acct ppl unemployed after 3 mths of not finding a job) suicide rates got to 9%+(which it is at now) banks buy up other banks, land, businesses and foreclosed homes, very high foodstamps and other unemployment claims, banks hardly lending thus shrinkin the amount of money circulation. So with that said we r in desparate times and humans like all animals have “survival instincts” so let us fortunate ones that have a roof over our heads and holding down a job be very thankful and count our blessing… So in your quite moment ask yourself what would you do if u lost your job, then your car, then home, family that can help u lost their jobs, u cant find a next job cus u need an address and u are hungry??? Put yourself in the state of mind of someone in that position and see how “logical and smart” you will be….

if you care to do some research check out what happen during the last recession/depression back in the 1920s and 30s and u will see that a parent walkin in jewelry store and robbin it and leaving the kid behind might not be that “dumb dumb dumb” and not suprising during a depression. If you look at it from a another angle, in jail u r not homeless and they feed ya(50K/year is spent on an inmate), in foster care cps is well funded so the kid will have food, shelter, clothes and alot of counsellors… I am not condoning what happened but in a depression the middleclass and lower class suffer to the point of desparation and the wealthy gets extrememly and unimaginably wealthy.

This a shameful and embarrassing story has nothing to do with the recession. If they had got off they lazy behinds and got jobs this would not have happen. I know the recession are bad for some, But this is no excuse for parents to involve a small four year old child in crime leave the child out of crime he’s innocent. For some of those programs yes you have to be drug tested, you have to put in so many volunteer or class hours, but I’m thinking that would have been better than losing your child forever, which I hope they have done.
