please have your nephews write for us i would enjoy to hear their perspective..I don’t have all the solutions but I have ideas regarding education and hip hop that I think can help…I also think getting rid of racists like limbaugh would do a lot for black peoples self esteem and the way the rest of the country views us..I’m not you an won’t write what you want to write..if you read my articles i believe education is key..better teachers better schools and instilling a desire in black students to learn easier siad than done but i’m still fighting

When I read Limbaugh’s post, I wasn’t terribly surprised that he would say something like that, but what I AM surprised about is how he can be SOOOOOO utterly racist and is NEVER reprimanded in any way about his comments (or anyone on Fox News for that matter) yet a black man can get fired for calling republicans a*****es lol. What a crazy world we live in…..

@Casey, I think your focus is on the wrong issue. How many Black people do you think are listening to Rush anyway? If it weren’t for your or other articles here on BP most of us wouldn’t know what he is talking about. Also, for the majority of us who do listen to him from time to time (myself included)we realize he like Hannity, Beck, O’Reilly are ENTERTAINERS who are not adding anything of value to the national debate on any topic, so to take the time to address him like you seem to do a lot, is really useless. Just to piggy back on Mr. Nana’s comment, You have to understand where he is coming from (not that he needs me to add clarity to his clear comments) but we can scour black publications all over the world and see articles highlighting the issues/problems in the Black community, but its RARE to see anyone write about real solutions. THis has been going on for decades on black talk shows, newspapers, TV shows, and has now evident in the black blogosphere. Honestly brother, I think you do more to weaken the self esteem of Blacks than Rush will ever do, simply by highlighting this negative foolishness spouted by a guy who is all about maintaining his top rated show, by pushing the envelope a bit. @NMRYDA, The reason why Rush is not reprimanded is because Bloggers like Casey tend to take things he says out of context. Rush is a smart fellow, and he knows how to get close to the line but not cross it. Why do you think he is the top rated talk show host in America for many years? They are not as dumb as you may think, so we should stop focusing on them, and put the focus back on US! Lastly, this is no attack on you Casey, but just something for you to consider.

And to add, Look at our communities all over the world, There is indeed something seriously wrong with our state of mind. We need to accept that fact first and realize that racism is not our problem, its our inept response to it!

Casey, before you say “Oho! Maybe I’m wrong if all these people are disagreeing with me” realize the following :

Whites make up 74% of the U.S. population. This means that the vast majority of internet users are Whites. Blacks only make up 13% of the U.S. population. Not only that but much of that population is without the net, ghettoized by anti-Black discrimination and cruelties from 35 years ago (lasting 5 centuries). After the era of anti-Black cruelties there was white flight, separating the wealth of society from Blacks, making it even harder this minority group to get out of the mess Whites placed them in.

When Whites make up the majority, this creates countless White privileges and it also causes a lot of trouble when there’s racism amongst that majority: A.) issues that Whites don’t care about are issues that go unresolved. Conversely, the issues that are brought to the forefront and resolved are the issues that Whites are concerned about B.) viewpoints on countless issues swing in the direction of Whites, sadly even racist Whites most of the time [note: this is proven by how slavery, Jim Crow laws, and other forms of racial discrimination and cruelties were made possible for so long in this country]

This also causes a lot of problems when that vast majority takes delight out of racial bullying a much smaller population of people. It’s already proving to cause problems within the internet world. Not only do Blacks receive scores of racism over the Internet and far and away the most racism out of any other race. Don’t believe me? Just visit any popular internet websites in which guests can post to (ebaums, youtube, rants & raves section of craigslist, urban dictionary, topix, yahoo answers, etc.); if even a Black person is the focus, one is likely to see many anti-Black insults, criticisms, and complaints in the posting sections.

As one example, a Black user can expect to argue with numerous White users on youtube if a White user is to engage in anti-Black troublemaking of some sort. If that Black user is to retaliate with anything even remotely against Whites, that White troublemaker will be getting a helluva lot of back up to outnumber the Black user. As another example, if a Black internet user makes a blog containing a legit racial complaint that’s even slightly in opposition of whites or a white person, it will be treated as nonsensical by the majority of internet users. On the other hand, there can be scores of anti-Black racism without anyone saying a thing over the Internet. If a Black person dares to complain about this, verbal racism will be defended by the majority with “freedom of speech” (which refers to the government being prohibited from throwing people in jail for any type of verbalization. Freedom of Speech does NOT mean people are allowed to say whatever they want, however offensive, without negative consequences, which is why one could be fired if they insult their boss).

Ever notice how Blacks are regarded as racists in our society (a predominately White society that is) if even they’re a civil rights activist? As one example, Al Sharpton is considered one of the most racist public figures in America; however, If you read up on the life and history of Sharpton, you will learn that he is merely a civil rights activist. Sharpton is constantly attacked for dedicating his life to trying to ensure equal fights for Blacks. He has never done or said anything anti-White in his life. Considering the fact that Sharpton grew up in the 50s and 60s (a particularly racist period in American History) and had parents and close elders that dealt with racial discrimination and cruelty, it’s completely understandable that he be a civil rights activist. As another example, the NAACP which is a group developed in the 1960s to combat all the racial discrimination and cruelty that was going on, is regarded by most White Americans as a racist hate group. Black civil rights activists/groups are constantly put down and b***hed about by White Americans. Apparently it’s racist to be concerned about five centuries of intense racial discrimination and mistreatment that only ended 35 years ago and that has caused most African Americans to lead shabby, lower-class lives.
Meanwhile, you have actual racist in the White community who are defended by most of our society (a predominately White society). If anti-Black racism takes place in American society and it’s given the slightest bit of denouncement by our media, it’s met with hoards of anti-Black complaints by White Americans: “If a Black person engaged in this same behavior, nobody would care about us Whites. I’m tired of Blacks and this double standard. We Whites deserve sympathy after this instance of anti-Black racism from someone White”, “Nobody can say anything bad about Blacks. F**k America”, “Blacks need to stop thinking they’re owed something. Slavery was 5000 years ago”, etc. Either that or just outright racist comments of “I hate Blacks”, “Stupid n****rs”, “this racist man speaks the truth”, etc.
In late 2009, Rush Limbaugh was rejected from coaching the NFL Rams because of his history of making anti-Black racist remarks. After this media report, White Americans were quick to come to the defense of Limbaugh b***hing about him not being able to coach the Rams.

I’m leaving one statement. I have not even read the other statements, nor will I come back and read statements displayed after mine. I am a white woman. I date black men, I have a mixed child. However, I date white men, spanish men, etc etc etc. Whatever race I’m attracted to. I do not see color as far as that goes. I would like more then anything to have a “black president” or whatever. Obama is not the one. He is soooo anti american it is not even funny. Just because he is part black doesn’t mean he is good for our country or “black” people. Every single American needs to think for themselves….black, white or otherwise. Bush was not racist, nor is Rush. Do not listen to the media or all the hype….look at the facts.
