WOBURN, MA-John A. Amabile, lawyer for the defendant, Jabrai Copney, in the Harvard Murder Trial, said that it was, Copney’s former friend and co defendant turned government witness, Blayn Jiggetts, who killed Justin Cosby not Copney. Amabile referred to Jiggetts as Blayn “Blizz, Fatboy” Jiggets and claimed he as a “homicidal maniac and bully from Harlem” who was a “murderer and purjerer.”

Amabile said Jiggetts shot Cosby after a dispute between Cosby and Copney over the price and quality of marijuana that Cosby had agreed to sell Copney.

Massachusetts Assistant District Attorney, Daniel J. Bennett gave a different account of the story in his closing argument. Bennett used text message evidence, and testimony from Harvard student, Channequa Campbell to show that the baby faced, clean cut Copney had posed as a Harvard student to lure Cosby into Kirkland House at Harvard with the intent of of robbing him, with his accomplices Jiggetts and Jason Aquino.

Bennett made a clear case that it was a robbery and not a dispute over marijuana prices that lead to Cosby being shot. Bennett also brought up the actions of Brittany Smith, Copney’s former girlfriend and former Harvard student who is currently charged with accessory to murder after the fact and firearms possession, to show that Copney was a willing participant in both the robbery and the murder.

Bennett also brought up forensic evidence, including gunpowder on Copney’s jacket and DNA evidence from the gun to prove that Copney was not only a participant in the robbery and murder of Cosby, but the shooter as well.
