When asked about the conflict in Georgia, GOP Presidential candidate responded ‘In the 21st, nations do not invade other nations.’ Apparently he is forgetting about the 2003 invasion of Iraq, which he was one of the biggest supporters. He is also forgetting the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan or his support for Israel invading Lebanon.

McCain has caused controversy in his advocating for Georgia. One of McCain’s top advisors who counseled him on the Georgia conflict, Randy Scheunemann, owns a firm that provides strategic advice to the Georgian Government in DC. McCain was also criticized for attacking the Russian government to harshly and acting as if he were the US president already, something he has accused Obama of doing.
