    For all of you that support President Obama and his admninistration blindly, I would like for you to consider that the Tea Party may have a point. You really must examine this man’s policies, both foreign and domestic. He truly capitalized on this country’s fears and hopelessness by feeding us everything we needed to hear after being fed up with 8 years of Bush destruction. He gave us the nod and wink and we fell for the okie doke as voters. Here is an excerpt from an article I wrote from my column “The Hard Truth” at thecypresstimes.com. You can find more on this article which explains the damage this man is inflicting on our country and other articles of interest.

    First off, let us take a look back to when the president was on the campaign trail aspiring to become the leader of this country. He slammed the Bush administration for its policies on the way the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were being handled and on the economy as well as the budget deficit. He said whatever he thought would be music to the ears of those who opposed the Bush administration’s policies. With all of these criticisms, many would-be voters were rope-a-doped into believing that Obama desperately wanted to fix the problems the previous administration had left for the next. Unfortunately, all of his campaign promises could not have been further from the truth. Not only has Obama continued to advance the same destructive policies the Bush administration put in place, but he has intensified them. He promised the masses to take a different approach to foreign policy and to pull the US out of Iraq and to keep forces in Afghanistan to crush forces who oppose democratically elected governments and the rule of law. Oh, and to find Osama Bin Laden. When’s the last time anyone has heard of an active plan to find the ALLEDGED benefactor of the September 11 tragedy? Does the average American citizen even know and understand what we are doing there? My point is that this whole operation has morphed into something uncomprehendable to the average citizen in this country. Some may see no problem with this, thinking that certain things should be reserved only for government officials; on the contrary, I beg to differ. If the average American is not informed on what is done on the behalf of citizens of this nation, how can we hold our leaders accountable for wrong doing or lack of action? The people have to be knowledgeable in order to demand our leaders to act in this nation’s best interest abroad and domestically.

    Unfortunately, the rule of fear is what we get. Control of the masses by dire pictures of what could be instead of what must be is all too often fed to the American people. The Obama administration is picking up right where the Bush administration left off. Scare the American public and its congress into giving the corporations billions of dollars to do what corporate heads see fit. Also, many current white house officials are former associates of the same corporations such as Sachs, Chase, and so forth. The President also continues to preach lies about wanting the very best in healthcare for the masses, healthcare that congressional leaders enjoy. What was pushed through in the dead of night after weeks of back ally political deals is certainly not the same type of healthcare congress enjoys. This is enough to make a person ask, “What happened to the promise of a TRANSPARENT government?” I guess this is “change we can believe in”. Furthermore, what about this country’s economic woes? The government continues to print money with no real plan on how to make sure the dollar’s value is sustained. The US debt is touted by the government to be in the neighborhood of $12.7 trillion. However, independent figures show that it is actually as high as $127 trillion when you add in the cost of raiding the coffers of social security, Medicare, and veteran’s benefits. To date, there is no real evidence of CHANGE from the Obama administration. There is only the further advancement of the Bush doctrine both foreign and domestic. Many people were fooled by the smooth demeanor and inspiring rhetoric of his speeches. However, every leader followed by the masses throughout history has been extremely charismatic and passionate in the process of garnering the peoples support. It is safe to say that Obama has the gift of persuasion, not just here but globally as well. People everywhere are strangely enamored with him. Combine this with a profound ability to move the masses with heart wrenching rhetoric and a delivery as smooth as velvet and it could render the unsuspecting helpless to see beyond the vale of proposed good into his true ambitions and motives. Simply put, he could be the most dangerous man on the planet.

    Mark Williams just outed himself in front of Roland Martin as the true racist he is. White people often cannot see their own racism.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/korg/ korg

    let me tell you why it is impossible for any black party to be racist. i dont consider the act of hanging a black man racism, that was hate, pure and simple.. what was racism is the fact that we couldnt get anyonwe prosecuted for it. the laws were not the laws for us. thats racism. how is it possible for a black group to be allowed to kill a large group of whites and not face judgement ? when was the last time a black person stopped a group of white people from being homeowners. redlining is against the law, but black areas are redlined all of the time. WHAT RULE OR LAW DID THE NAACP PASS THAT DIRECTLY AFFECTS WHITE PEOPLE ? NONE. THATS MY DEFINITION OF RACISM.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/CaliFemme23/ CaliFemme23

    The NAACP can’t possibly be a racist movement toward whites simply because they do NOT have the power to put and keep their foot on the backs of whites collectively….
    And the damn organization is ‘owned/operated/funded’ by jews AKA NON BLACKS.

    I think A LOT of people, white and black, need to LEARN the true meaning of the word ‘racist/racism’…
    It is NOT simply one person not liking another because of their race/ethnicity/skin tone…

    Racism is systematic oppression. I wish you dummies would stop thinking it’s just someone not dating interracial or refusing to sit next to someone of another ‘color’…

    @ProfessorNupe
    The Tea Party can’t even decide on a platform, let alone a “point.” Yet, I can see that you aren’t so interested in discussing the Tea Party’s latest racist outrage as you are in expressing your personal disappointment in President Obama for not being the superhero you imagined him to be.

    It’s a theme I’m beginning to tire of. First off, EVERYBODY on the campaign trail slammed the Bush Administration for their disastrous “leadership” in matters both foreign and abroad. Are you saying that EVERYONE lied? That Bush was doing a fine job and, compared to Obama, you’d prefer another round of his policies?

    Because one has to wonder what the whole point of the Tea Party is beyond being a forum for whining and complaining. Oh, and wanting “their” country back.

    And the idea that Obama should hold specifically to campaign promises NO MATTER WHAT IS ACTUALLY OCCURRING on the foreign policy front is patently ridiculous. He has a responsibility to address what IS happening, not what WAS happening. Take Afghanistan. According to Richard Holbrooke, there are no less than FOUR separate players working to destabilize the country at this point, each with their own goals. So how does it make sense to focus exclusively on Osama Bin Laden?

    Furthermore, I certainly wish the Tea Party would make up their minds if they want the President to be a tyrant or not. If the healthcare bill were solely up to him, I’m sure he would have written it to his personal specifications. But that’s not how our Government works. CONGRESS writes the bills and negotiates amongst themselves over what ends up on the President’s desk.

    Finally, this nonsense about blaming him for our current economy has got to stop. This country was cutting taxes while simultaneously spending BILLIONS of dollars to wage war without a single care for how it would affect the deficit. In fact, I haven’t forgotten how Cheney once proclaimed how they “deserved” to run up a deficit on account of the whole “mandate” they’d won. Again, no one said a word. Jobs were bleeding out of this country on a monthly basis the entire year of 2008 and again, no one said a word.

    Well, now the chickens have come home to roost. And finally, we ALL have to deal with it. The question is, do you plan to be part of the solution, or would you rather side with those contributing to the problems? The ones who want no spending but also no loss of benefits? The ones who want “victory” in the Middle East, but don’t want to pay a single dime in extra taxes to fund the war? What’s it going to be?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/korg/ korg

    PROFESSORNUPE, YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO KNOW THE RAMIFICATIONS OF THIS CRAP. RACISM IS A POWER THING, NOT A FEELINGS THING ! BUT HATE IS INDIVIDUAL. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT RACISM AND HATE. THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH OBAMA’S POLICIES, OR BUSH FOR THAT MATTER. ALL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT IS WHITE HATE COMING TO THE SURFACE AND TRYING TO CALL IT SOMETHING ELSE. I PERSONALLY DIDNT LIKE THE NAACP CALLING THOSE RACISTS, RACIST ! I LET GOD BE THE TRUE JUDGE OF THEIR HATE, AND RAISE MY CHILDREN NOT TO USE IT AS AN EXCUSE. BUT WHITE PEOPLE ARE NOT BEING TRUTHFUL, AND THATS THEIR PROBLEM ! AT MY JOB, WHEN OBAMA WON, WHITES WERE WALKING AROUND WITH GUNS……GUNS !!! AND THEY WERE SAYING THINGS LIKE ” YOU ARE NOT GOING TO LET HIM HAVE “OUR” COUNTRY !!! WHAT DO YOU THING THAT IS !??

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/courtneyR/ courtneyR

    Its very simple.If their are people in the tea party who are being racist then its the responsibility of other tea party members to check their own members behaviors if they are concerned about how they are being viewed and not tolerate that kind of despicable behavior.If they are not doing this,then they all will be viewed as a negative movement and racist..No im not supportive of the tea party because I believe even they have no clue what they are fighting for.Its no different during the election when Obama was running for office,some people were caught on tape with racist signs towards him,monkey toys, etc..Then say the movement wasnt being racist.Well,maybe their were some people who werent saying and doing those things.But if those same people are not speaking out against being racist towards minorities,african americans,you are just as guilty.IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE.

    The NAACP is correct on this one…But with that saying ,that goes for everyone.When you see wrong,you speak the hell up on it.When you know something to be wrong and you dont speak up to RIGHT it,,you are just as guilty..

    No one can lump you into any category of behavior when you know its not true.No matter how hard they try..But if you are doing the very behaviors others speak of,well… So i dont understand what the Tea party members are saying..If you are not racist then its their responsibility to CHECK those members who ARE… You have to right the wrong from within.

    That goes for every community,every,country,every,block,every city,neighborhood,,,,etc… sheesh..!!!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Johnny_Walker/ Johnny_Walker

    The Tea Party has some valid talking points, but that’s all they are: Talking Points. You want to reform the entire government NOW? When we’re in a tough position deserving MORE government oversight of healthcare providers/financial sector/etc, but they want less…

    I am not saying that the government has a perfect track record, but the People do NOT have the power to stop a recession or depression. We would have to actually be UNITED in order to do that. And we’re not.

    I won’t be the one to say that all Tea Partiers are racist (once you use the word ‘all’ in a sentence, you’re probably lying), but there is a racist element. To pretend like it doesn’t exist is to ALLOW it. I may not agree with everything the NAACP does, but they are correct in their condemnation here.

    @SherriY
    Thanks…you saved me time from having to respond to him..lol

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/SincereNow/ SincereNow

    First off I would like to thank SherriY for basically correcting a very misinformed ProfessorNupe…who like millions of other people decided that in less than two years President Obama was suppose to go into the White house and ELIMINATE EIGHT YEARS OF FAILED POLICIES AND MISMANAGEMENT OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!!!! How can we expect President Obama who is a man just like every other president to change everything that is wrong with country in LESS THAN TWO YEARS!!!! we as a country are not realistic and especially when i read professornupe’s comment further makes me realize that no one truly understands what is going on in this country…lets go back into history, FDR (Franklin D Roosevelt) was also criticized as a Democratic president for establishing the New Deals after the great depression because the country wasn’t recovering fast enough…this is the same thing that is going on now…history keeps repeating itself because either we don’t learn or care to learn to be better…

    thats why they call it the tea party. its like “take me back to ole virginny”. the old days, when men were men and the sheep were scared !

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Unique019/ Unique019

    I can honestly think this Tea Party guy is right. NAACP has become a shell of its former self who only wants to poke their noses when a situation is racist. However in “hoods” all over the country blacks destroy their own neighborhoods selling drugs to each other, kill each other over those drugs and run their neighborhoods down. I remember watching the movie “Godfather” and Italian crime families didnt like black people because even though the Italians were criminals they would never ruin their own neighborhoods. Everyday I notice matters that the NAACP should speak out on such as government corruption perpetuated by the BLACK GOVERNMENT HEADS in New Orleans, La just for one example but they remain quiet. However the minute a situation that can be perceived as racist pops up here they come. NAACP served a useful purpose in the early mid 20th century but now I have to question their motives

    @ujammabill. First ofall, WE DuBois didn’t create that movement, a consortium of WHITES did and used people like Dubois to gain favor with blacks, who were needed to do the “grunt” work. Do you really think a movement like that would have been allowed to be started by a group of black man back then? Get real. You urge NEWBIES to learn history??? NAACP was another group used to harness/control/contain black rage whose sole purpose was to offer blacks guidance and direction, rather than allow you to find it YOURSELF. The highest NAACP award to this day is the Spingarn medal. This Organization never has been and never will be an organization that works in our best interest. Critical study and analysis should be conducted by black people and ask some key questions. For instance, how many pro Jewish, pro Irish, pro Italian groups would have black people serving in key cabinet positions, much less as it’s President, treasurer, or name it’s highest medal after him. Is it a coincidence that we are the only foolish group that would do this and we are still fighting/begging for civil rights in 2010?

    BLACK PEOPLE WAKE THE HELL UP!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/_A_/ _A_

    @ProfessorNupe. Beautifully written my brother, and of course, you will get a lot of backlash, with no one really refuting your points.

    @SherryI. The Professor is not suggesting (in this article anyway) that people lied about Bush’s leadership or lack thereof, but rather he is simply asking the question, what has been the difference since BHO has taken over? As far as campaign promises, are you actually saying that he doesn’t have to at least try to enact things he “promised” simply because situations have changed? And lets be honest, in such a dynamic atmosphere, things are changing all the time, so why vote for anyone if what you say, the plan they are feeding us, may be obsolete by the time an elected official takes office?

    You say this blaming BHO for the economy has to stop? He is two years in and running RECORD deficts? He is projected to run a 2mil trillion deficit this year and that is without the unfunded liabilities counted, as the Prof pointed out? Where is the change? What structural change has his people offered up to fix the economic situation? The banks that were to big to fail, have gotten bigger, stronger and more prosperous. Again, where is the change? Where are the solutions?

    Lastly, it’s clear that you take issue with the Professor’s article and that’s fine, but next time I would much rather see you refute or address specific points he made, rather than set up a row of straw men, and attempt to knock them down!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/SherriY/ SherriY

    @Unique099
    Did I read that right? Are you siding with this ignorant racist based on your perception of life in the ‘hood from a “Godfather” movie? Are you serious?

    As for the NAACP “[poking] their noses when a situation is racist,” name the last time black people were allowed a say in determining what was racist in this country without being accused of “playing the race card?”

    I’m beginning to think of that phrase as racists’ greatest invention. Not only does it allow its users to deny their own racism, but it also instantly allows them to dismiss our concerns as unworthy of discussion. Since we’re playing a “game” and all… Worse of all, is how it instantly marginalized some of our greatest champions for racial equality and justice (like the NAACP), by making their work nothing more than “race-baiting,” for that’s what it’s called whenever we dare to call out whites for the structural racism that continues to contribute to issues like employment discrimination and the wage gap that goes along with it.

    Meanwhile, perhaps you would benefit from checking out some non-fictional sources before determining how the ‘hoods as you know them came to be. One of the best is a PBS series called New York: A Doc**entary Film, particularly Episode 7, where one learns exactly how and when such changes came about.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/SherriY/ SherriY

    @_A_
    Of COURSE he’s two years in and running record deficits! Did you not understand the scope of the problem when he took office? Exactly how fast did you think such near-Great Depression levels were going to turn around? Have you forgotten that it took nearly an entire DECADE (and a war) to turn around THAT economic collapse?

    Personally, I blame the internet and how it makes people think that EVERYTHING can operate in such a dynamic fashion. People today are so accustomed to having their every whim addressed instantly that they’ve lost perspective on how LONG it takes for things to move in reality, especially when issues involve more than bits and bytes going across a computer line. Not only that, but it seems to have created a national case of ADD, because people forget things just as quickly as they “learn” them.

    Take the banks. Obama didn’t bail out the banks, Bush did. Meanwhile, Wall Street reform just passed yesterday. See what I mean about that ADD? The question is, will he EVER get credit for such solutions, or will he simply have to wait for cooler heads to review the history? After all, it was HIS Recovery Act that most economists credit as having stabilized the economy. But to hear you and Nupe tell it, the fact that he hasn’t implemented his ENTIRE AGENDA in 19 months apparently makes him some sort of failure.

    And where is your analysis of the alternatives? Just yesterday, it was reported that if the GOP implements the “reforms” they propose, they’ll add more than 3 TRILLION to the deficit. You’d think the GOP would have more shame than to announce such crap ideas in public. Then again, who better understands the intellect of the American public better than those who conned them into believing that they had a clue about fiscal matters in the first place? As evidenced by the stellar condition they left the economy in, right?

    Finally, MY straw men? Considering the topic at hand, Nupe’s entire POST was a straw man. I didn’t even address the backhanded insults about “blindly following Obama” and the insulting notion that his ability to speak in complete sentences makes Obama possibly the “most dangerous man on the planet.” Nice to see that our standards have dropped so low in this country than an educated man is now considered the ultimate “threat.”

    What’s next I wonder? Ending public education altogether?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/_A_/ _A_

    Again..I’m not even dealing with the speed of the turnaround. These are complex issues that can’t possibly be solved in 4 and probably 8 years. But my question to you is, what has BHO done to BEGIN the repair?? This is the core issue. That economic collapse you speak of came about by easy credit which created the housing bubble. In addition, the 6 top investment banks created a 60-120 trillion dollar shadow market in the form of Credit Default Swaps and other exotic financial vehicles. Keep in mind, NONE of what these banks was doing was actually contributing to the real economic growth, but needed real MONEY when they ran into trouble. I’m sure you’re aware of the specifics for the need of TARP so I won’t go all there. But we all heard the term “too big to fail” right? This was why they needed 787B for TARP and almost a trillion more for TLGP. Lets assume BHO voted for it because he had no choice. Now you cite the Wall Street reform bill. IN that 2000+ page doc**ent, anything in their dealing with “too big to fail?” This was the reason Hank Paulsen gave to Congress that stated they NEEDED to bail out the banks. The risk the entire global monetary system was exposed to. Would it shock you to find out that this bill DOESN’T address that at all? How are you reforming a system and not dealing with the ONE specific that has put the entire global monetary system into a tailspin. My dear, we have to delve deeper than the headlines.

    Speaking of that war, has expenditures for that increased or decreased? Perhaps BHO needs the next term to really put his plans into place? Trust me, this will be the sentiment starting in Jan 2011 if not sooner.

    Lastly, let me be clear here, I’m not actually blaming BHO because I know he is nothing buy symbol than substance. What does a constitutional lawyer know about economics? War strategy? Fed Reserve policies etc? There are people who work in various positions of Government for decades, you really think they are taking their marching orders from someone who won’t even be President in either 2 or 6 years? You really think they allow anyone to come in and make REAL constructive change to a system that has been running for the past 97years (inception of the FED RESERVE). You want to see who sets global policy, check the Governors of the FOMC, heads of the World Bank/IMF and the various military units under their control. Tri Lateral Commission, Council of Foreign Relations and many others, this is where the real center of power is located.

    @_A_
    First of all, I’m generally not a spelling bee-atch, so no worries there. ;)

    Now, back to our debate, as you are well aware, the housing bubble was but one factor leading to our economic collapse. And I will concede that not enough was done about “too big to fail (TBTF),” but then again, I could never figure out how Congress was supposed to get away with writing a law to retroactively affect TBTF banks in the first place. Short of strengthening antitrust laws in conjunction with the new limitations placed on banks re their ability to invest in hedge funds and derivatives (two instruments that also had an enormous impact on the crash as well) I think TBTF banks are here to stay.

    Because we’re capitalists to the core. And yes, because we have no direct control over the Fed Reserve.

    As for war expenditures, you can thank Obama for knowing what they are at all, because if you remember, Bush&Co. got away with never putting ANY war costs in the budget. I’ve already discussed the President’s responsibility to respond to actual events, so there’s that. As for folks not “taking their marching orders from Obama” due to term limits, I think you overstate the case. Else, what would be the point of having a President at all?

    Finally, I completely reject your claim of Obama being more symbol than substance. Good Lord. The man has the ability to READ doesn’t he? And from what I’ve seen, he seems more inclined to do so than his predecessor. Besides, he wasn’t BORN a Constitutional lawyer. He had to learn his craft. Which means that he has the ability to learn what he needs to know about economics and Federal Reserve strategy as well. Just as people WORKING in those jobs had to do. After all, these topics aren’t exactly classified. Heck, you seem to know a bit about them yourself.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/SherriY/ SherriY

    BTW, here is the latest racist drivel from Mark Williams in its offensive entirety. I can’t wait to see how his defenders justify THIS:

    “Dear Mr. Lincoln

    We Coloreds have taken a vote and decided that we don’t cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!

    In fact we held a big meeting and took a vote in Kansas City this week. We voted to condemn a political revival of that old abolitionist spirit called the ‘tea party movement’.

    The tea party position to “end the bailouts” for example is just silly. Bailouts are just big money welfare and isn’t that what we want all Coloreds to strive for? What kind of racist would want to end big money welfare? What they need to do is start handing the bail outs directly to us coloreds! Of course, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is the only responsible party that should be granted the right to disperse the funds.

    And the ridiculous idea of “reduce[ing] the size and intrusiveness of government.” What kind of massa would ever not want to control my life? As Coloreds we must have somebody care for us otherwise we would be on our own, have to think for ourselves and make decisions!

    The racist tea parties also demand that the government “stop the out of control spending.” Again, they directly target coloreds. That means we Coloreds would have to compete for jobs like everybody else and that is just not right.

    Perhaps the most racist point of all in the tea parties is their demand that government “stop raising our taxes.” That is outrageous! How will we coloreds ever get a wide screen TV in every room if non-coloreds get to keep what they earn? Totally racist! The tea party expects coloreds to be productive members of society?

    Mr. Lincoln, you were the greatest racist ever. We had a great gig. Three squares, room and board, all our decisions made by the massa in the house. Please repeal the 13th and 14th Amendments and let us get back to where we belong.

    Sincerely
    Precious Ben Jealous, Tom’s Nephew NAACP Head Colored Person”

    No different than the KKK…..

    The tea party movement just goes to show u that every race has there fair share of politial idiots and bigots! Anybody with a brain can see right through them, and what they are truly about! Every race has there looser idiots with too much time on there hands, and the Tea Party is definitly the white peoples version!!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Big_Jimmie/ Big_Jimmie

    If there was any doubt that the tea party is just a pseudonym for KKK, John Birch society, white citizens counsel, skinheads and every other hate group in this country and throughout the world, the insipid letter to Abe Lincoln penned by Mark Williams, must serve as an eye opener.

    The million men march which gathered more men and women in one place than all tea party lynch mobs combined, never offered any threats or insults to any person. In contrast the million man pledge stated that we will never raise our hand to harm to anyone except in self defense.

    The NAACP called upon the tea party to repudiate the racists and bigoted remarks made by some of their party. The resolution did not call the tea party a racist organization, I Do for that is just what it is.

    The resolution just calls for a repudiation of the racist elements of the tea party. Sara Palin, Michael Steele, Mark Williams are unable to do that. My question is why? The question is of course rhetorical, there can be only one answer. The tea party is by definition Racist and their singular objective is the destruction of President Obama The Democratic Party, and the democratic way of life in this country.

    MLK in his I have a Dream speech, did not preach hate, but rather good will to all men Black and white, jew and gentile, Protestant and Catholic. There were no people displaying signs directing violence or hatred toward our elected officials. No one spat upon members of congress, but people like Ron Chrissy, Palin, Steele, and Mark Williams deny that it even happened in, spite of the fact there is a video of that attack on Representatives of Congress.

    There will always be racists groups like the tea party, spreading their lies and hatred of any Black man in any position. Mark Williams, Trancredo, Michele Bacchman are constant reminders that this country is still full of Hate Mongers,.

    The Tea Party must be denounced for what it is, an Anti American Hate Group that can only lead us back in history. The people that defend this party of haters, are predisposed to a hate mind set. They must all be denounced, we cannot and indeed will not, go back in history to a day when it was against the law to be Black in this country.

    ProfNupe, Your diatribe is idiotic. It would be foolish of me to debate you, for it is obvious that for whatever reason you are anti Obama. What has he done? In less than two years he has caused to be passed three major pieces of legislation, not the least of which is the Health care bill. I am not satisfied with its final composition, I would like to have seen single payer. I don’t think Wall street reform went far enough. But to look for the perfect in an un-perfect world is foolish.

    More importantly I do not see how your foolish post in any manner relates to the topic at hand. The letter written by Mark Williams, which I must assume does not give you any cause for concern.

    @SherriY

    First of all, Wall street Reform not doing enough to deal with TBTF banks understates the issue a great deal, because actually NOTHING was done to address it. You ask, how can we retroactively deal with the mess, that’s not what reform is usually about, it’s usually about preventing it from happening again. So let me ask, if you don’t actually deal with the problem, aren’t you/we susceptible to being victimized again?

    Under Clinton, the Glass-Stegall act was repealed at the behest of Rubin, Summers and Greenspan. This one act served as a protection of what we saw happen in late 2008. Also, Brooksley Born as head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, FOUGHT hard to have this derivative market REGULATED because she saw the potential danger of these instruments. She was fought diligently by the same three and many others who sought to repeal Glass-Stegall. Bill Clinton has gone on record recently by saying, he regrets repealing it, and that he didn’t receive good advice from his ‘ADVISORS.’ This goes back to my point that these Presidents don’t understand the complexities of economics, war strategy etc. so they rely and typically sign on without really knowing what’s really at stake. There is great doc**entary dealing with this online at FRONTLINE entitled “The Warning”

    Lastly, you want to give BHO credit for knowing what the price of the war is? Ok, fine, but the question is, when does he start to scale that back? Dems and BHO paint Reps out to be War Mongers, but yet, BHO has not only kept the same levels of war in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN but has significantly increased the amount of drones going into Pakistan..

    @Big_Jimmie, What good is this legislation if it doesn’t effectively deal with the structural problems of these programs? You’re not happy with the final composition of the healthcare bill? Could it be that it actually falls short of reform? Is it possible that you don’t think the Wall STreet reform bill goes far enough, because it doesn’t deal with to big the fail, THE actual reason taxpayers had to cough up 787B in TARP and 2T in TLGP? Come on Big, lets get real, and stop making excuses here. If legislation doesn’t deal with the underlying problems, what fckn good is it except to gain more political capital?

    The Tea Party is the new improved, more acceptable version of the KKK.

    The NAACP was established for a reason. Blacks were not even considered as human beings at one point in time. We had no rights. Without NAACP, where would we be as a Black community?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/regalchevas/ regalchevas

    NAACP? Boy, the TP is all over the place with wild accusations and statements with no actual proof. I don’t know if the TP was founded on racism, but they are making a great case for it. It’s the coward who blames his woes on an entire race of people. When we were all being ‘Bush-whacked,’ there was no problem. I’ve not HEARD one statement from any TP spokesperson or TP supporter regarding the condition of our country during the Bush years. What I SEE, is misspelled signs of racist hate, irresponsible statements made against the Leader of this nation, hate, fear and panic born out of racism. The funny thing is, we SEE it clearly, yet they deny the heck out of it. Call it what you want, but don’t insult my intelligence.

    If that isn’t “the pot calling the kettle black”…… literally. I’m not saying the Tea Party is 100% a racist organization, but I’m sure a large number of it’s members are racists. That is why they usually say, “we want our country back.” Meaning we want our country back from the control of a black man (President Obama)

    NAACP in inception was known as the Niagra Movement. It was an organization born from the Talented 10th, Zionist Jews, and funding from the Ford Foundation and Rockerfeller Foundation. NAACP was created in unison with the Urban League, and the Divine 9(AKA, Zetas, Sigma Pi Phi, Kappas, Gamma Rho, Alpha, Sigmas, Omegas, Deltas).NAACP as thought championed for the Black cause til we realized who are the puppet masters pushing buttons.NAACP are the main entity used by the government and the aforementioned wealthy families to opposed Marcus Garvey and the UNIA. They disrupted the united front and black power ideals of Marcus Garvey. So for a TEA PARTY to call NAACP racist is an oxymoron.

    Albinos everywhere are starting to find out that they get no credit or love from their own kind like they use to.Those days of White Privilege is coming to an end. This is why they are coming out of woodworks and becoming more violent, which is in their nature. The are losing their jobs faster than ever. Factories are closing down. Plants are closing down. Colleges are getting more expensive. Prices are increasing. Companies are hauling in profits and bailout money all at the same time. Albinos doesnt know whether to shyt on themselves, take their lives or try to take as many people down with them.

    The great Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Sometimes I think that many don’t know who he was and should. The Tea Party, in my opinion, are KKK members, at least some of them. The others, non KKK members, have the same ideology. They may not necessarily wear the sheets anymore, but sit in their corporate offices and plot and get the fools to carry out their dirty work. Some of those fools are misinformed Blacks, unfortunately. Then the KKK wannabes or trailer dwellers run along with their dumb selves, thinking that other guy would have done better. He would have grind their poor, middle class a$$es into the ground while Corporate America sit back, cross their legs,sip champagne, and laugh. When I think of corporate America, I think of the devil,sitting around a fire, plotting all sorts of trouble and getting his minions such as the Tea Party to carry out all his evil plans. The devils work is never done and the devil need idiots to carry it out. For those of you who don’t vote, I uge you to do so. Some people really need tobe kept out of office. Vote for your Mayors, Govenors, and all your state reps. You can’t allow the devil to take over. And do vote in the next Presidential election. The devil must be kept out. I can barely afford tuition as it is, just imagine what else we will have issue with if we allow the devil to enter. KEEP THE DEVIL OUT! We all know sometimes no matter what we do, the devil may find a way in as he did once not too long ago. But do try and keep the devil out. If not for you, then for your sons and daughters, mothers and fathers. I feel like I’m preaching. But I fear I must. The devil must be kept out.

    This is the latest tactic by the white man. Use racism, bu claim that they are not racist to make those who fear white second guess the meaning. It appears as if the powers that be called up the racist terror cells to get into motion and they are doing it. Just notice how they are not being racist towards hispanics, Jews or the enemy of all enemies (allegedly) – Arabs. Why stick to attacking the same old black man?

    Don’t say “because Obama is an African-American.” He is not! THAT is why HE was chosen to become president and not a real AA. What has he done for us yet? What CAN he do for us? The moment he does something, he joins JFK in the list of slain presidents – by a lone nut of course. This time, maybe a lone Tea Party nut since they are new and they can get rid of them once it is done. Let’s use our brains for more than getting high blacks!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/n0gar/ n0gar

    The NAACP was created and run by JEWS, so maybe he is right…

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/panamaniak/ panamaniak

    Wow. I will never understand racism. And you can see it at work here. It’s like nobody gets enough. Black folks (and this is a FACT not some wannabe “victim mentality”)have been crapped on since day one! But here you have a guy Williams saying the NAACP is “racist”? I mean do they burn crosses and lynch folks? But at the same time this “n0gar” character is hating on Jews. WTF?? And don’t let me get started on Mexicans hating Blacks,Jews hating Arabs,etc. I cannot (and I have said this SO MANY TIMES)hate someone who has never done anything to me PERSONALLY. Why would I hate a Jewish person? Is it because some have money? Like there are no poor Jews? If they have money and run billion dollar companies why should I care? Or is it the age old “Jews were at the heart of the slave trade”. Well I have an answer for that also. You know all of these so-called Black Muslims who claim Islam is the true religion of the Black man? Don’t you know that Arabs (and I don’t hate them either)were neck deep in trading African slaves? And in certain Islamic countries Blacks are still called “abid”. Know what that means? SLAVE. When will it end people?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/makedakaluwa/ makedakaluwa

    Fu*k what that flat-footed, funny looking, peckerwood had to say above! The Tea Party and the fake Jews b.k.a Khazars are a bunch of racist f****ts who climbed out of the caves of the Caucasus mountains.

    The real Jews are Blacks. We are the true children of Israel. And no we shouldn’t trade one slave master for another by becoming Islamic. Christianity comes from Ethiopia.
