So, I’m dying to know what this culture is or was and how to bring it “back”.

I mean, blacks have advanced along with the “white” culture to such an extent a lot of technology used today in electronics and transportation are in use today and were invented by blacks. I don’t know that it was black culture or white culture.

As to your point about the problems that exist within our people and communities, the same can be said of all ethnic groups. That is why I am quick to point out the deviant behavior that exists within the white culture, when they point their finger at us with an air of superiority!

I have no patience or empathy for anyone who usees racism as an excuse to justify their destructive behaviors or as a reason not to strive to better their existence. I am quick to point out the misguided and foolish behavior of many within our culture. But there is no particular group that has a monopoly on ignorance(lack of knowledge). We as a people have to continually speak out against the negatiive aspects of society. But at the same time we cannot as many seem to do, project the image that we prefer the white culture over an above our own. To do so would give validation to the racist ideologies of “Willie Lynch” and show disrespect for our own ancestors, parents grandparents and so on.

This response is far better than the first one! We can agree to disagree on some points, which is to be expected. Whites have made a point of calling our people “racist”, when we point out the racial inequities in this country and stand in protest against it. This is simply a ploy used to take the spotlight off of their behavior and institutionalized racist policies, and confuse those who cannot see thru the B.S. In general it cannot be said that we have harmed whites, or given them reason to justify the hate that they have and still direct toward us. Yet we have a great many reasons to despise their bahavior and attitudes, past and present.
If their bigotry and hatred were simply a thing of the past, then your point would be valid. But as we clearly see, the election of Barack Obama has brought their true feelings to the surface. When other whites reveal the truth about the extent of the racist feelings of those within their own ethnic group, it demonstrates just how little they have changed from their ancestors! Former President Jimmy Carter stepped forward and took the heat for his honesty. So if whites do not want to be seen in the same light as their forefathers, then it is up to them to change! It is not our place to overlook, excuse or ignnore their bigotry. But as we see, many of them are proud of the racist past of their predecessors and choose to perpetuate it within the minds of their own children. They are the ones who are quite deserving of hatred in return…………..

So at this point it’s a little difficult to determine what treatment you’re talking about since you also use the word history, and again supply no context to your remarks.

So, what treatment and what history are you, or could you be talking about? Other than enslavement and subsequent racism.

So, I wouldn’t be talking too much about backwoods, rednecks if I were you since you left wing fools don’t know what you’re talking about in either factual or contextual terms….

O.K. idiot, it seems that you should get your eyes checked or go back to school. Show exactly where slavery was mentioned in my original comments, in quotations. Can you manage to do that, or do you require a tudor? Secondly, if you really believe that knowledge will change the racist views of the backwoods, redneck, right-wing fools who you seem to avoid acknowledging exist, then you’re much dumber than you appear to be!
Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh and many others are not uneducated people, yet that has stopped them from promoting bigotry.

I mean, you make a lot of expansive statements like that and not a shred of logic or evidence to back it up.

So, what is the solution to bigotry prince charming?

The debate here is not about slavery or the roots thereof. What this debate is about is the racist views and words of the thousands of right-wing idiots in this country who seek to bring down the Obama administration, and fan the flames of bigotry toward Afr. American people. Knowledge of facts will not end bigotry in this country, as you seem to infer. Only a fool would really believe that the solution is that simplistic!

So if it is your position that all of the opposition to Obama has nothing to do with race, then you can take that B.S. to someone else who’s naive and stupid enough to believe you, such as Carmel-angel!

And what of pre-columbian blacks who were in America before, during and after the arrival of europeans who were not taken as slaves for the simple fact their people would protect them from being taken as slaves and had no tolerance for being kept as slaves?

So, slavery wasn’t about race, it was tribal. It was more due to the social group you belonged to and race had little to do with it. Although the issue of race was used, it was only camoflage or a superficial element if anything.

So, it’s true then that it’s the ignorance of facts which keep prejudice and bigotry alive and flourishing….
