Civil Rights Preacher Will Give Inauguration Benediction
Reverend Joseph E. Lowery will give the benediction speech at Barack Obama’s inauguration in January. Lowery was the pastor of the Warren Street United Methodist Church, in Mobile, Alabama from 1952 until 1961, the apex of the Civil Rights Movement.
Along with Martin Luther King, Lowery helped organize the Alabama Bus Boycott after Rosa Parks was arrested and also formed the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which he headed from 1977 to 1997. Lowery also led the famous Selma to Montgomery march in 1965 and was very active in the Free South Africa Movement.
At Coretta Scott King’s funeral, which was attended by George Bush and three other former presidents, Lowery openly criticized American foreign and domestic policy, saying, “We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there. But Coretta knew and we know that there are weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds. For war billions more but no more for the poor!”

What an most appropiate selection. Here is someone who bought into “The Dream” and lived to see it come true. As for Rev. Wright, inflamation brings contradistinction, which brings justification, which brings wealth.
In other words, if I say something inflammatory that gets you excited and my message is contradistinctive to the general jargon you have been listening too, and I justify my message by doing it from the pulpit, then you have no other choice then to give me an appropiate offering for what I have just said.
Jesus was scandolous because He brought people out of darkness into the light. Some preachers are scandolous because they want to be in the light but live according to darkness. No judgements here, only observations.
Reverend Joseph E. Lowery is a great choice to give this speech but not the best choice if you ask me. What Reverend has done more directly and indirectly than the Reverend Jeremiah Wright to put Barack Obama in the office of the President? Reverend Wright earned that speech with 20 years of direct spiritual guidance to the Obama family and even more service to civil rights advances. It is a shame
that politics put Reverend Jeremiah Wright on the cross and his own Judas(Obama) left him there.
P.S CRACK AND THE TEL-LIE-VISION, ARE THE REAL WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!
WHOA! HE HAS A LOT OF ACHIEVEMENTS UNDER HIS BELT! I CANT WAIT!
Outstanding!
