Yesterday, former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo attacked Judge Sonia Sotomayor for being a member of the National Council of La Raza, absurdly likening the civil rights organization to “a Latino KKK without the hoods or nooses.”
Tancredo’s outlandish cries of racism are difficult to take seriously considering his own well-documented bigotry. However, the conservative blog Little Green Footballs has flagged a lesser known story demonstrating Tancredo’s embrace of intolerance.

Tom Tancredo, the former Colorado congressman and radical anti-immigration activist, stepped up his attacks on judge Sonia Sotomayor Thursday. Appearing on CNN, Tancredo suggested that Sotomayor’s affiliation with the National Council of La Raza, a Latino civil rights group, was equivalent to being a member of the Ku Klux Klan.
TANCREDO: If you belong to an organization called La Raza, in this case, which is, from my point of view anyway, nothing more than a Latino — it’s a counterpart — a Latino KKK without the hoods or the nooses. If you belong to something like that in a way that’s going to convince me and a lot of other people that it’s got nothing to do with race. Even though the logo of La Raza is “All for the race. Nothing for the rest.” What does that tell you?
SANCHEZ: Alright. We’re not talking about — we’re not talking about La Raza –
TANCREDO: She’s a member! She’s a member of La Raza!
The only problem with Tancredo’s claim is that “All for the race. Nothing for the rest.” is not La Raza’s motto. Instead, the group’s motto is the utterly uncontroversial “Strengthening America by promoting the advancement of Latino families.”
The phrase that Tancredo incorrectly links to Sotomayor is, in fact, found only in the founding documents a wholly different group to which Sotomayor has no known affiliation.

Ok first the Latino mentality is very complex and different depending on what country they come from. Some Latino’s consider themselves white “Caucasian” and nothing anyone says or do will change their minds about it. It was such a problem identifying certain members “Fair or light skinned” of the Hispanic group from the Caucasian group during censuses because they insist that they are Caucasian that the US census and most federal applications specifically read Hispanic “check here if you are of Latin origin” and then a separate spot for Caucasians. One thing I have learned from traveling and living abroad is that they can be racist just like any other race, they have there only inner racism just like blacks with light skinned Latinos not liking dark skinned Latinos and vice versa.
Now Tancredo is not pleased with a minority receiving such a position that’s why he went to the trouble of finding out more about her background and it is quite obvious in the way he presented his concern about her being a member of La Raza. That’s why when he found something juicy he took it and ran with it as fast as he could. Are La Raza and its members like the KKK no but are they are racist yes so let’s call a penny for a penny and move on.
And in what Hate Group is Mr. Tancerdo in? If “La Raza” is a hate group, that would make, or should make any Group of Americans Hate Groups. men like tommy and rushy are angry because white america, (in some Cases) have to answer to their actions. I say in some cases because if a minority is Murdered by a white person, they will not be sent to prison. but if a Minority spits on the floor they will get sent to prison. Sometimes all they have to be guilty of is being a Minority. The charges will be made up as they go along. And America still doesn’t hold these people responsible for there actions. But yet We the Minority’s are the raciest. These boys just want to show off in front of their fellow raciest, just to see who can stur the Community the most. I firmly believe that they don’t have God in their lives. They might think they do, but all wil be revielled on “Judgement Day”. I will also say that as for me I do not hold a grudge and forgive them, because it is not up to me to judge, that belonges to the “LORD” and that is enough for Me.
Latino KKK??? Um, there are no Latinos in the KKK, and there is no Latino KKK, and even if it was, who cares? All these right-wingers are doing is desperately trying to hold on to something that’s already gone. Those days are OVER, Tancredo! No more race-baiting WHITES against BLACKS, so you RED staters can steal all the GREEN and make us all BLUE!!! We ain’t fallin’ for the banana in the tailpipe any more! We know that you guys have stolen all the money! GIVE IT UP, MOFOS!!!

Sotomayor is racist there is no doubt about that but comparing her to KKK is priceless!
That’s what happens when you have idiots like Limbaugh and Tancredo speaking out of their asses. They tend to say things that are totally ignorant, baseless…and without the slightest thought…to try and stir controversy amongst the majority…they can’t take the fact that they lost the white house and congress…so they try to discredit everything they do…i mean they are really reaching…really really reaching.

Few things can be compared to the KKK, they have a special place in history next to American slavery and the German Nazi party. La Raza is hardly a hate group.
With that said, I have a seen a quote from this woman saying she is better equipped to govern simply because she is a Latin woman. That is a racist statement.
“without the hoods or the nooses”…don’t forget without the supremacy talk, the terrorism, the lynchings, the rapes, the killings, the vow to wipe out every “minority” in the land…For him to suggest there is a remote similarity begs the question, what type of fool would elect this fool to represent them? and with clowns like this running around in Government, is it any wonder this country is in the condition it finds itself in currently?

Sounds more like desperation than a sound, legitimate claim. As Whites in America are slowly losing their majority status and exposed to who they really are, people like Gingrich, Limbaugh, and Tancredo will say anything to rally troops (the White mob) in the false name of equality.
