Four hundred years ago the first African Americans were brought to this country as slaves. In 1819 slaves helped build the White House. There were three American Presidents who owned slaves. Today, an African American is the president of the United States. here is the journey of African Americans from The Slavehouse to the White House.

Boricua, I am totally with you. I hate it when they say Barack Obama is the first BLACK president – he’s not. I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING against him, (I love him and think he will be great as president) but I think whenever they say that, they’re dismissing half of who he is. He is HALF WHITE AND HALF BLACK. I wonder what his white mother and grandparents would think when people say he’s fully black. I just think it’s kind of disrespectful. And to ajyant1, I think your using the phrase, ”our struggle” to mean the whole African American’s struggle with slavery and everything, but just like several other people said, not every African American picked cotton.
PLEASE dont put that SLAVEHOUSE to the WHITEHOUSE on us….OBAMA AINT no exslave..His mother was a WHITE woman, and his FATHER was NIGERIAN..Not an ounce of BLOOD is from slavery..He dont know our struggle but what he read..He is hand picked by the JEWS, and our former slavemasters children…..If his name was Barak JONES, Smith, Johnson I would see, but OUR LAST NAME show the world who we belong to. So if you cherish your lastname you are a slave still, you are the property of whites…OBAMA didnt come from no slave house. What I DONT get is how everyones saying Obama is Black!?!?! He’s half balck making him NOT the first black president making him the first HALF black president how do you think his mom feels knowing shes white and people are only considering HER son full black thats not fair… and like one of the dudes underneath me said not all black people come from a history of cotton picking family!! peope need ot stop saying the first black president because he’s not fully black where BOTH parents are black and have a long generation of black people… its so damn fustrating geeeez
The most I have to say is everyone has their own mind. People before us blacks was blacks. To break it down for you the USA is a great big melting pot. Yes when you look at your skin you are black,but im pretty sure you have indian, white,ect, in you.In Africa we are not consider afrians. I met an jamacian and he called me an cracker, mixed breed and ect. What im saying is check your history before you really try to get to deep. Obama dad is black. in America he is consider black because of what his father is. See if you can track your history. Alot of white men raped black women and gave the children way back when there was slavery. Thats why you see these people in your history books that look mix and some that just look white,but who will write white mans child in there. My family is from down south and we have always past or history on. wheather its about a white man rapen my great grandma and given her children, to my other great grandpa being posin a while after blacks where able to eat in a white food place. So what im saying know your history before you judge the next man or woman history or his mind. Peace
The lie will always be a lie. When truth shows up then you know that what you believe is a lie when you know something you will stop telling the lie we were here long before the african slave were abducted, kidnapped and forced into bondage. It you tell a story use facts and not lies. A belief is something that you do not have facts on. and if the information came from his-story usually it is a lie the rest of the article is riddled with his-story lies Obama is not the first president with melanin in his skin. there were 5 melanin dominate men before him and 3 before the US was chartered

im so f**king tired of everybody saying ” from slave to president” wtf….nobody in barack obama’s geneology picked cotton. his father wasnt a “nigga” he was a african national. his moms was whiter than wonder bread. how the hell is it even plausible to compare him to that of a slave. he is the president. did we compare bush or any of the other 42 presidents to a slave owner? or a klansman? hell naw.. cuz then it would seem racist…..oh wait…..thats wtf this is RACIST……
in 1857 the supreme court ruled that blacks would never be citizens…..in the constitution, to this day……we are 3/5ths of a man……
Not only must we know our history but it is time to fulfill the plan of YAH….What as a people would he have us to do know….

what we know of ourselves was given to us by our slave masters……the hardest thing to conceptualize, is this captivity…..are we truly free or have we just been given better jobs …..
when the slaves were “freed” they ran to Kansas, ending up in a worse captivity than the first…. They didn’t know where to go or what it was like to be free….they are our ancestors, we are their children…..and still have no clue what it is to be free…
where would one who is free live….would one who considers himself free, live anywhere, in the lands of captivity…or would they go back home>?

The continued play on the identity of the negro coming to america has only slave is mislaeading and false.
