This is what I like to hear,our children excelling in school and showing the world that there is more to us than Hip Hop and being a freak.My daughter graduated valedictorian 2 years ago amoung a school filled with white students and I was very proud. I gave her a $1,000 check as a gift.Our Black children are very very gifted and talented- there is nothing lacking in them.All they need is continuing support and praise from our community. We also need to stop all of the videos that show us as sexual freaks,gangsters and unintelligible pants dropping thugs and give more attention to the great success these two sisters and many other blacks like them are achieving.

What a difference a day makes. Instead of murdering their mother these twins love and respect and succeed. I would bet you a $100.00 bill that their parents demand certain rules be followed inside their home and it is obvious that they do not spend their time glued to BET or any other booty shaking obsessions. They hit the books and it shows. There is only one thing worse than dumb kids and that is a set of dumb parents who refuse to change in order that their children have a fighting chance in life.

There will be more good news about black people if they parent their kids. The cycle of teenage pregnancy will be broken if parents pay attention to their male and female kids. Yeah, I said that. It takes a male and female to make a baby, its not just the girls fault, as the society tend to project it. All the good news you hear about are mostly parents that put there foot down and dragged these kids to Library and school. From Obama to Dr. Ben Carson(Md), one or both parent gave them no option but to achieve academic goals. We can blame anyone but we loose at the end if we dont do nothing. You do not need to read and write to raise a Medical Doctor. Ben Carson’s mother did it cleaning people houses. So stup making excuses and be responsible for your kids. Stop buying xbox and start buying books. Designer clothes only makes you more brooke and never got anyone into college, but you can learn how to market designer clothes in college.

This is a clear-cut example of what we can expect from our children when we invest the time and attention necessary to strengthening their academic performance and instilling in them a love and respect for themselves. If we truly love our children we’ll take very seriously the obligation of ensuring that they grow to be intelligent, aware, and dynamic individuals who also take seriously the importance of seeing no limits on what one can achieve. With the currently self-destructive and ignorant level of much of our culture today, our children need us to be shepherds and stewards of their success. Now more than ever.

Not to brag or anything, I am an identical twin and my brother and I were also the top 2 people in our high school graduating class (2007). I was the Valedictorian and he was the Salutatorian of our class. I know that your parents are proud of you ladies. Keep up the good work and continue in life so you can reach to the ultimate goal to success.

My name is Alfonzo Branch and my twin is Lorenzo Branch. We graduated from Hayti High School in 1993. This school is located in Missouri. We had identical GPA’s (to the tenth of a point) when we graduated.

It’s always good to hear about this type of news….I got relatives who also have twin boys and girls and they are doing great in school! Here’s hoping they reach the SAME type of success. (wonder if they all chew the same type of gum, too, lol.)

I wonder when we’re going to stop offering this up as something new to us. Black people have been and still remain to be some of the smartest people in the world… granted, there’s also some that remain to be some of the most ignorant as well, but until we start expecting this from ourselves then this will always seem like a miracle when we see Black people excelling in academics.
What also strikes me as funny is that up until after high school Black people almost condemn being a nerd/bookworm and then we wanna know why we get so many that drop out and don’t live up to their potential.
