Black hair and healthAccording to the United States surgeon general, Black women are harming their health avoiding physical activity because they’ve invested considerable amounts of time and money in their hair.

Dr. Regina M. Benjamin, who is Black herself, knows the issues Black women have when it comes to “sweating out” their hair.

“Oftentimes you get women saying, ‘I can’t exercise today because I don’t want to sweat my hair back or get my hair wet,’ Benjamin said.

Dr. Rebecca Alleyne, a breast cancer surgeon in Los Angeles, said she ran, cycled or swam six days a week until a year and a half ago, when she stopped wearing hair extensions, which required little maintenance, and began pressing her hair.

“I noticed I would stop for two or three days when I got it pressed,” she said. “The barrier for me was the $60 and two-and-a-half-hour investment in a hair salon that kept me wanting to preserve my hairstyle.”

how backwards is it that black women care more about looking like something they’re NOT (read: keeping their hair silky straight like Europeans, because their naps are “ugly”) than ensuring their lifespan isn’t cut short by 10 years or more…

if that isn’t proof of the collective shame we feel about our natural curls, then i don’t know what is. white supremacy is something else, i tell ya…

Professional Black men who know the value of time know that the hottest and most exciting thing of the planet is a Black Woman with the sexy and twisted natural. Look at the faces of these sexy black women rocking them. The glow and energy is priceless. I can challenge any black man to show me any sisters hairdo/energy radiance better than what I see and feel when I see one of them. Real life or otherwise, it is the real thing and it rocks. I dig it. For the others… who really cares. Your hair tells all about who you are… like they say.

How does white supremacy play into this? As a white man, why should I care whether someone’s hair is straight or curly? And why do I care if that person is black, white or anything else?

So this is ‘whitties’ fault too?? Funny.

The images we are bombarded with from birth about the standards of beauty are brainwashing. There were doll studies done on children and what they believed the standard of beauty was, they always picked the white doll.

As pro-black as I always thought I was, I would not be caught without a perm. It took some time for me to really get away from the mental damage of believing that is how it was suppose to be, since the first time sitting in my mama kitchen getting my hair pressed to her taking me to get my first perm. I’m so happy i’m off the creamy crack..and all it took was for me to just scream in “DO The Right Thing” fashion WAKE UPPPP!!!!

apparently you don’t understand what white supremacy really means. it has nothing to do with openly racist whites, but instead it’s about America’s history of whites being in power, thus innately believing they’re above minorities. this leads to minorities innately believing that “light is right,” or the white way of living (including their appearance) is better than our own.

for example, this is where the whole concept of the “American dream” stems from. it’s a “dream” to minorities because it’s how rich white people live. despite what you’d like to think, those in power always have an incredible amount of extrinsic and intrinsic influence on the lower classes.

white supremacy has been effective since slavery, and the respective mentalities of whites and blacks have been inherited from generation to generation, thus causing the majority of the American population to be oblivious to the very system that causes them to think the way they think…it’s become the norm for most of us.

in regards to this article, the system of white supremacy has caused black women (and men) to subscribe to the white standard of beauty. that’s why, in the black community, light skinned women with long, straight hair are considered the most attractive of all.

i hope this cleared up some things for you.

You know sistas, I’ve been noticing a lot of articles considering black people especially black women lately and I can’t help but think thats intentional. Okay, let me just say Black women out of all the other races of women in the US, have a much higher self esteem for themselves despite what is being shown in the media and I believe they hate that. Women in America are judged harshly by their looks and the European straight haired, blue eyed woman is the ideal FOR ALL WOMEN.You know the All American beauty right? Yet you have white women suffering from low self-esteem much more than black women.—Why don’t they do a article on that—-

To the sistas young and old don’t be blinded by the propaganda. When you walk around with your head up (like you do) you are a walking threat to the white beauty standard and thats creates hostility from other races that embrace that ideal. Especially if you rock your naturally kinky curly hair.
But regardless Do you, Love you and don’t let that poison embed your soul. Ashé

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/dayzee/ dayzee

No one said you cared . The dominating culture is to look as European (white) as possible and that includes straightening the curl out of your hair.

It’s the same reason most white women who bleach their hair blonde do it. Straight blonde hair is considered the most desirable. DUH!!!

Sistas young and old… We all have to understand that this is a new age and every thought anybody has can and will be posted on the internet for the world to see. People have always felt this way about us, and with the net, we are now able to read how they truly feel about us.

I am gonna need each and everone of us to be strong and secure in who we are and dont let what people say get embedded into your spirit. They are trying to figure out why we have such high self esteem despite what is shown through the media, we are practically the only race who doesnt have so many body image issues and who actually love the way they look no matter what height, weight, class etc.. They are trying to get in our heads but its up to us not to let them and teach our children who we are… We only get one life to live so live it and fyck whoever has a problem with it. Ashe

I don’t dislike people because of their color or how they wear the hair or there pants. It’s bigotry and hatred that I dislike.

    Whos blaming you for slavery?
I think most African American’s anger is more directed towards the American system that is white supremacy. Its institutionalized and beaten into the minds of Africans since slavery and because your white, you have the privilege of not having to experience nor understand it. And my personal anger at some white people is not because their simply white but because they refuse to acknowledge they have benefited from slavery even if their ancestors were not slave masters. Thats my problem with white people.

if your genuinely interested in what I mean. Check out Tim Wise. He lays it out perfectly and he’s white ;)

What I find most interesting about you and your comment is. You have no hair, don’t look like you have stepped into a gym in 30 years and have no intention on doing so in the near or long term and as many people have stated already, who asked you if you really cared?

White Supremacy plays into every aspect of life here in America. Of course since it has no negative impact on you, you fail to recognize it. That is to be expected and I for one can understand your ignorance. However your ignorance does not mean it’s not factual!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/_A_/ _A_

I contend that anyone using the excuse about not wanting to sweat their hair out as a reason for not working out, probably wasn’t all that interested in working out in the first place! If that sister is putting more value in the $60 she spent to get her hair pressed than the unlimited benefits of exercise then clearly something else is at work here. Also sister, why don’t you take that $60 down to the farmers market and get some fresh fruits and vegetables including some fresh avocado that you can use as a natural moisturizer for that beautiful NATURAL hair you should be rockin? What can be better than a fit body and natural hair Dr. Alleyne? You got it twisted!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VPNCAHEAEL2NDLONTHGIKGZSAE Nd

Rose, the point I am trying to make is we all have to stop thinking, talking and acting like this. I am positive you and I would get alone fine but as long as you see the american system as holding you down and don’t realize that there is plenty of opportunity for you to get your piece of the pie you will never get over these feelings of oppression. We all have problems with the system and at times believe we are getting the short end of the stick.

if your genuinely interested in what I mean. Check out Dave Chappell. He lays it out perfectly and he’s black ;) Did you ever see that skit were he was blind and was the Grand BooBob of the KKK and he didn’t realize he was black;-))

There are so many Black Women going natural (like myself) Natural black African Hair is not “bad” when you learn how to take care of it without chemicals…

at the same time, white employees w/purple mohawks recieve nary a passing glance .
many black women invest in looking white to adhere to these screwy standards, some so brainwashed as to tell me to find a way to re- straighten my locs anyway…. i say piss on that. Clear enough?

All Black women are NOT allowing hair to STOP us from being physical. Gone are the days when we had to worry about sweating the curls/style out. Nowadays, there are soooo many different NATURAL
ingredients we can put in our hair and still do the things we so desire.

    It is 2011….. Surgeon General!!!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Redalert7/ Redalert7

I just figure, if our hair is a particular texture; it must be that texture for a reason. Whomever created us didn’t make a mistake.

Our skin or hair is due in part to that powerful force in my avatar called the Sun. The microcosm and macrocosm connect on all levels; so when you alter the texture of your hair, you are cutting off your connection to the universe.

Have love and respect for the “self”; and do not allow your surroundings (Eurocentric ideology) to alter the perception of who you really are.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/soul_angel45/ soul_angel45

What an ignorant assumption. I’m sick of these blatant generalizations about black women. I’m a member of a woman only healthclub and I attend 5 days a week and about 50% of members are black women who don’t let hair get in the way of their health either.

There are plenty of black women who exercise, play sports, dance, etc. Have they ever heard of relaxer, dreds, or braids? Most black women who are active know to choose hairstyles that won’t get in the way of their workouts.

Well, Consequently, I have a style right now that took 9 hours to complete. I run 10-15 miles a day, and I also swim. I have always been active. I can see the point of this article but not all black women jeapordize their health. Some white women refuse to exercise too. Here in the part of NC where I live there are soooo many over weight whites. It is merely equivalent to the amount of overweight blacks. Being sacreligious is the cause here. They go to church two to three times a week and on the weekends after their meetings they sit for hours in buffet restaurants and eat, laugh and talk for hours and then eat some more. This is the cause of bad health here.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Redalert7/ Redalert7

You know it sis. The good thing is that sista’s are increasingly embracing their natural locks. I hope you are too ;-)

Also, the Koreans or Indians have cornered the market for black hair care products worldwide, affording them (or their communities) millions in revenue. This has to stop, because this is embarrassing!!

A lot of the time we can’t complain about economic oppression, when we hinder progress with our actions.

i can only speak for myself so here goes…my hair doesnt make me i make my hair….im plus size because i choose to be plus size. however just because i am plus size does not mean i am not healthy. i don’t have any high bp, diabetes, high cholesterol, stds, nothing. as a matter of fact my doctor is always shocked because i am healthy and he always says i just want you to loose weight. and i ask him why there is nothing wrong with me my heart and lungs are fine my body is fine why? i say this because society wants you to believe that being skinny means you are healthy and sexy and beautiful whatever. ive seen many women skinny , that are unhealthy. i get my exercise in but society says since im plus size i dont exercise and this stigma needs to stop.

    2 points:

    1) To the Sistas – You will receive more attention for having a knockout body then for your hair…(2 examples: Halle Berry wears her hair most of the time short; Amber Rose is damn near bald headed!)…

    2) To Mike Reed – The “essence” of White Supremacy is that you (a white person) are normal; the gold standard…Everyone else is inferior based on their deviation from you (your color;hair texture;speech,etc..)…It doesn’t affect you because you are alright just being YOU!…some Dark Asians bleach their skin; some Jews get nose jobs;some Blacks burn out their hair with lye; some Latinos anglicize their name …

I only took the time to mention this because you seem sincerely baffled by this phenomenon and not one of the whites who come on Black sites to spew BS because you are a loser with nothing else better to do….

In the past black women couldn’t get jobs with natural curly hair. There are still companies that wont hire now, but wont be bold enough to say its based on hairstyle they will just find other reasons. This is a very serious reality. Most companies have cultures and the general culture is for everyone to look very similar. People know this just don’t want think it exist based on race. It always has and will continue as long as people put their heads in the sand to pretend like it doesn’t happen

Absolutely, even took a pic on the page to show what natural looks like…not ashamed of it never have been..I dont mind having to do it.Dont go to salons, never had, dont like strangers that I dont know touching me. Im in my early 30′s and still call mom up when im in town to hook my hair up.

Also mother, daughter sitting in the kitchen doing your hair like when you were a kid is tradition.Great time to bond and talk and laugh and spend time with each other to gain some more wisdom that your mother can teach..

About Black women and their hair. Sisters have been destroying themselves for decades in their atempt to be acceptable in the eyesight of those who could care less. I witnessed a white woman laughing at the attempts on the part of my sisters for patting their head with weave in it,asking? “whats wrong with them”. Like a true sister I did not answer and walked away. Sisters you really need to feel better about ourselves and get it together so we can do all we can to be truly beautiful. Exercise is abolutely necessary especially as we age and eat all the wrong things. Our superficial attempts at beauty are only fooling us. Please sisters form groups so that we can truly be who and what we are. True beauty is ffrom the inside out and you sisters have taken evil to a whole new level. We are watchful of you straight hair self haters. You women are something different and you believe the world considers you acceptable, but I beg to differ. Soon very soon when the chemicals that possibly could be bringing cancer to our doors, and the look that really takes so much away in terms of true beauty, you will wake up. Be Black women, quit being examples of ridicule and get with the natural god given beauty you all possess.

Lets elevate this conversation a bit. Brothers and sisters, stop wasting your money on gym memberships. If you can find 100 sq ft of open space in your house, that’s all you need. Start doing some Tabata circuits that take about 4 mins per day and watch that weight fall off. That’s right, only 4 mins a day can get you right. You doubt it?

See, this is the type of foolish posts you get from people who BELIEVE they understand any and everything. You’re not surprised “when white people will never stop hating black people” well those of us with a little brains in our head won’t be surprised either. By now the majority of us realize that it is YOUR NATURE to hate us. In fact, you have done nothing but hate all the beautiful things on this planet. Look at what you have done to the air, water and land. You rape these natural resources for material gain. You have been a destructive and counter productive force on this planet since your very beginning. If you don’t understand us, why come around us? That is the question you should be asking yourself.

Lastly, the days of white folks telling black folks what is more important to talk about have LONG been over. You didn’t get the memo? let me see if I can dig it up for you…..ah yes, here it is.

    Memo to white folks:

Effective immediately, we have decided that we the Black citizens of the world will no longer accept whites or anyone dictating to us who we should like, dislike, talk to or talk about.

Do you mind passing that along to any of your white friends you think may have missed the memo as well?

    Thanks and enjoy your weekend!

Hiking is great as well as all the other things you mentioned…But truthfully, some squats, some burpees, Jumping jacks and mountain climbers in an interval style will do the trick as well if hiking is not your thing. No more excuses black man and woman. Our health should be of paramount concern to us all. These pharmaceutical companies are HOPING for and actually aiding in you getting sick so they can make money treating you. Lets bankrupt these fools by never needing to use their toxic products again.

So we’ve been recanting the same crap for years Now what? I despise this race and especially Black women in it. Look how you came at this man like it’s his fault Black people are mentally weak.

Black people will sit down and tell you exactly what the problem is, how the obstacle was created and how it has affected this race, again NOW WHAT? It’s becoming unbearable to listen to Black people we sound like Bill Murray Ground Hog day retards.

Oh wait I know someone’s going to come and sympathize and save us? I think we are mentally insane at this point. We have been so trained to point out racism so that our actions don’t look so bad that we forget that it takes action to get out of a predicament. All we do is talk about our problems and there isn’t any indication that we are trying to correct the ways we know we have been brainwashed.

Talk is cheap anyone can do it. In fact it’s annoying. It is not this man’s responsibility that Black people can be mentally manipulated so easily. How can I be stronger and other Black people so weak? It’s a choice.

if I wasn’t Black I would spend a great deal of time trying to find ways to manipulate Black people because I know it’s easy and once it’s done all Black people do is talk about the manipulation they have no desire to break from it so I would win everytime. Simple folks

I have to agree. The slave mentality is still prevalent here, especially among the older generation. And it does sadden me to no end. I refuse to call anyone “Miss Mary” or “Mr. John” be cause they think it is polite.

  • http://twitter.com/Shangrilatida Shangri La

Well the same can be said for black men. Black men always want to label women when they sleep around and have multi children, with multi fathers, but you praise each other on who slept with the most women. Many of our women act low because to many of our men want nothing more than a sexual relationship. A man can have a good woman, promise to marry her, never does, but he makes sure he can have sex with every other woman he comes across. If he does marry her, he will cheat on her with those same women he claims to hate in public. I will admit, some women are just nasty bumbs. However, no matter how distinguished, religious, rich good natured, or smart way too many black men will run their family so they can have sex with a bumb. A lot of women have decided they’d not rather have the hassle of mariage and dealing with a selfish man who only wants to be served, but never wants to be of service. Nor does she want to be permantely hooked to a man who will cheat on her with the first bumb he has a chance to get with.

As far as the hair is concerned, I wear locks, but I know it’s hard for many sisters to get jobs and advance on their jobs when they do not subscribe to Western preference. Moreover, when they see movie stars and entertainers (the few black females we have in those industries); when they see the few black men that are left chasing after white women; many black women are simply wearing this hair due to the denial of the world of our beauty; it is a survival mechanism for many. Societal pressures have convinced them that they can’t live without someone else’s hair on their head.

When dealing with a world that is so cruel to black woman; when dealing with someof our men; thier self-centered ways of thinking and living; as many black men make their livelyhood from the degridation of black women; a strong, confident and beautful black woman can struggle with her self esteem.

Exactly. Just because a “few” people reach an old age with no ill-effects due to smoking; it doesn’t mean the majority will not develop lung cancer.

And that tired argument/excuse that we all eventually die anyway; doesn’t factor in the likelihood that one will get lung disease if one smokes too much. Or in terms of eating products high in processed sugar, get diabetes…..which could result in having your limbs removed.

Many people are oblivious to the unseen or unheard who are suffering.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/buickjazz/ buickjazz

I have to agree with you here. This has less to do with white supremacy and more to do with the fact that the majority of women on the planet have the same texture hair that generally influences, is preferred and exclusively catered to by the hair industry. Hispanic, asian, native american, mediterranean, muslim and indian women also have straight hair. Even whites with naturally-curly hair often seek to straighten their hair at some point. No one is making black women or anyone straighten their hair or wear weaves. It’s their choice. This is a female and a vanity thing more than a race thing. If whites didn’t exist, straight hair would more than likely still be the preferred standard and black women would still be straightening their hair or going to korean health & beauty shops to buy the dead hair of indian and asian women. And most men, brothas included, would still be more attracted to the women with straight hair which is part of the reason black women do it.

Without black $$$, the hair industry would be nowhere close to it’s current popularity and if more black women chose to wear their hair natural rather than chase the popular styles then large part of that industry would have to change in order to keep their patronage or they’d go bankrupt but we’re not seeing that happening.

It’s sad how one simple minded caucasian (Mike Reed) can make an asinine statement or ask a ridiculous question and black folks get totally thrown off their game or completely bent out of shape. Rather than discuss finding a solution to the problems mentioned in this important article, ppl are wasting time discussing this fool (mike reed). I remember not long ago an idiot radio host called BW ‘nappy headed ho’s’. For the next several months all positive black projects, plans, programs, announcement, schedules and activities came to a screeching halt. One negative comment from one simple minded WM caused the discombobulation of the entire black community. Pls Black ppl stop giving your former slave masters the power to control your thinking and consequently your actions.

Hold on a second here! The man asked an open question and he got an answer. No where in SC_87′s post does she cast blame on anyone much less on this man? You should be ashamed of yourself defending this white man over your sister. You expect anyone to sit down and have serious dialogue with you while you commit such a blatant act of betrayal and treason? Especially making a comment about despising this race? Why don’t you run off to whites then and see if they will have you. Better yet, why not go seek out mike reed I’m sure he would love to make you his personal w***e. This is has to be one of the most insane comments I have ever read here and that is saying a GREAT DEAL!

Trust me, you may have black skin, but you ain’t BLACK, understand what I’m saying? Black is a state of mind, a certain level of consciousness and awareness. Clearly you lack all these components, so you might as well start trying to find ways to manipulate us, but let me let you know, that won’t be as easy as you think it is, because many of us have been awakened and there are thousands more awakening by the day, so good luck with that.

Matter of fact I should have refrained from posting this and let the young lady site come back and light you and buickJazz up herself!

Why is it to some, that if I choose to wear my hair straight by relaxer rather than kinky, I have a problem? I am less than black, want to be white, or that I am ashamed of my hair texture? Why is it to some that the nappier the hair the more black you supposedly are? Kudos to those who choose to wear their hair natural or any other way they see fit but the notion by some as if they are somehow better than black women who choose to use the “creamy crack” as you all call it is ridiculous. As for the topic, I workout all the time and I am not afraid to sweat.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/SimplyComplex_87/ SimplyComplex_87

    great post!!!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/_A_/ _A_

Speaking for myself, respect is all I care about. I have worked with people in the past who have disliked me for whatever reason and I knew it, but it never stopped me from working with them to complete a task. The only thing I demand is I be respected. And of course I try to ensure that respect is mutual. I pride myself on being to get along with ANYONE and can disagree without being disagreeable and that’s not based on whether I like them or not.

I agree with you that many people are a bit too concerned (in my opinion) with being liked. Especially with respect to how Whites view us. Michael Nutter down in Philly talking about flash mobs making blacks look bad. The implication there is obviously, looking bad to white folks. I just don’t hear other groups saying the same thing about their unsavory element. We are far too emotional and sensitive when it comes to certain things. Emotions and sensitivity has it’s place but I think we sometimes mix it in when logic is the only component needed. Again, I speak for myself!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/_A_/ _A_

Actually, you seem to be taking a position without really making a point. But concerning your peace and harmony statement, if you are really concerned about acheiving that, then you should spend your time with those who are historically known for being peace breakers and the disrupters of harmony. You shouldn’t come to places where the victims of those congregate trying to get us to be more accepting of it, you should go fight the good fight among your people and ask why are they so hell bent on living the way that they do!

As you have found out, black people are some of the most accepting and welcoming with open arms people you will find. Now I ask you, are white people that way? I’m not talking about of other white people I’m talking about of other nationalities and or ethnic groups?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/vljones45215OH/ vljones45215OH

Yeah I am reading everyone comments but hey why black women have to wear weaves and straight their hair and start wearing their hair natural. I wear my hair natural and it don’t bother me at all what this system think of me. I feel more confident in myself to wear my hair whatever I want to. I refuse to be control by my hair, I do not care what white, black or whoever think about me I have every right to wear my hair natural.

So let’s take a more positive tone if we want to get MORE sistahs to exercise. Enough with the negativity. The more people see negative stories about themselves, the more they’ll believe and act them out?

  • http://www.blackcelebrityenergy.com BlackEnergyNews

First I don’t care if he was purple, blue or green and I’m sure it’s safe to say I don’t want to be those colors.

I attacked her comment due to it’s ENERGY. Just like most Black people of this era all she can do is recant the same crap over and over again. Like I said in my post NOW WHAT?

See Black people we are full of sh*t we have no intention of truly addressing our problems we just like to talk about them. Talking is like dancing to us it comes easy. Action is another story, sacrifice is another story, a dedication in changing our actions through sacrifice is another story.

This is demonstrated by the fact that our culture and media enforces all the so-called problems and ENERGIES we want to get away from

For example I could swear on my life that if Ocho Ochocinco came out with a reality show tomorrow Black women would not be able to resist watching it. Even though he has demonstrated the Blackest he will go is Evelyn Lozada who has that “good hair” Black women try to get and maintain. That straight hair that a woman like in the story is scared to get wet, or sweat out.

Why is it that me, Mrs. Anti-Black can refrain from watching shows like Basketball Wives, Atlanta Housewives, Hip Hop wives, Kim K’s show and all the other crap out there. But I’m the Anti Christ of Black people, lol, lol we are simple and retarded.

See how you’re confused, see why this chick knows not to respond to me, there is RARELY a Black woman I meet that has the strength I have because I DON’T JUST TALK, I ACT. I act by ceasing all support, I do not compromise and make slight considerations for crap.

You’re all TALK, like most Black people, this is why the culture is the way it is. I’m like a Bus Boycott Negro, I sacrifice.

So yes, I attacked her because she has NO RIGHT addressing this man or anyone else about problems we aren’t even trying to correct ourselves, problems we simply talk about.

Or maybe she just want to sound like a History professor? In that case she should understand it’s been heard all before, many, many, many, many times……………….NOW WHAT?

It insults me and it insults those like me who are constantly ignored when we urge Black women to cease support to those things that create these types of negative mentalities because it fuels and reinforces these mentalities. How dare she and you for that matter.

And you have to understand I’m not nice like Sista Soulja, I will destroy and Whip a Black woman’s fat ass with my mouth, understand this.

Colorism and the fact that Black men prefer hair that is more Caucasian and non-Black is at it’s height in this era, Black people have some nerve talking about it.

In my Mom and Dad’s era Black men didn’t even understand the concept of looking down on a Sister with “nappy hair” or a afro.

But again, because Black women want to maintain men like Ocho Sh*t ocino and all the other Black men who make them feel like crap in the spotlight, yes, Black women have come to have stupid mentalities.

See how demented Black women are, and treason???, lol, lol, lol, lol you must be on CRACK and it shows why this race is in the state it is.

If you think I would agree with everything a Black woman says just because I’m a Black woman, particularly considering the character and ENERGY of Black women in this era you are insane and part of the problem.

This is a simple race and you are a simple woman talking to one of the strongest Black women you could meet. I sacrifice and I don’t support crap. I sacrifice and don’t support men who create the type of mentalities like above.

Most Black women don’t but they come at me, they are just talk.

So go buy the DVD of Atlanta Housewives the DVD of the Basketball wives and the DVD of Hip Hop Wives and stuff them up your ass, because coming at me you’re making a big ass of yourself.

I just finished talking to a Brother that loathes Black women because they support those shows. I write extensive articles trying to show Black woman it’s tarnishing to their image before Black men but they don’t care.

So again, we should not be attacking ANYONE about our problems. And I’m tired of hearing the same repetitive crap with no action.

You want Black sisters to feel better about their hair, you support those men who seem to appreciate Black women. That’s too much for most Black women, they sit their fat asses on the couch and find comfort seeing women who have the same character as them and support men in the spotlight that makes them feel less than.

White supremacy? Black people slay themselves and then empower other Black people to enforce their low self-esteem and negative mentalities.

We need to face that before attacking others. And to Miss. Silence lol, (who took the time to like you by the way) at least she’s smart enough not to test me like you. But like I said to her we will sit down map out and tell how a problem began, how it’s affected this race and how it’s being enforced but don’t go into the mode of changing it.

So like I said we have become Bill Murray “Groundhog Day” retards………PERIOD

There are many natural hairstyles for our women. My eyes were opened to this by my ex who styled her hair naturally and to my surprise looked more beautifuly than if she would have just permed it. We should really stop conforming to “others” styles and realize our own true beauty that lies within us.

You said a lot, this world is not cruel to black women maybe the US (not all) but if a man or woman doesn’t love him or herself, no one wlse will.

In all honesty, I personnally do not like a woman wearing fake hair period. I understand the mental effect but iit is somewhat of a turnoff. If you can not afford to take it down weekly, why wear it? i like natural.

I don’t pity the truth. The master said the truth would set you free. What He didn’t put emphasis on was “It would piss you off too.”
