She probably realizes this public option is BS. Honestly, How good does anyone in their right mind, expect a healthcare plan, offered by the Government, will be? Medicare is not only bankrupt right now, but according to some convicted scam artists, stealing money from the program is as easy as taking candy from a child. The fact is, if Mr. Obama was REALLY concerned about reforming the system, he would allow people to shop anywhere in the country for a plan, rather than be limited to the 2 or 3 companies in their specific state. Not only that, making it mandatory for everyone to be covered, will make billions more for the existing companies. “YES WE CAN, MAINTAIN STATUS QUO”.

First off, this public option is so that “anyone” can walk into a hospital and be treated without waiting a long time and without paperwork delaying an overnight stay. As far as Michelle Obama speaking out on this matter, quite frankly it may have been her idea in the first place, however her HUSBAND lobbies and makes laws not her. Her husband made the point that HE would lobby for reform-not anyone else. She’s more focused on taking care of other matter like centers for Abused women and children. The best thing for this lawyer is to stay the course- the less she says, the less she can be critized for. Their being verbally lynched everyday, why make it worse. Michelle Obama impressed me the day she served food at a homeless shelter-can’t recall any of those “other” first ladies doing that.

This comment below me shows how much misinformation exists about this public option. People WHO have insurance now have delays and wait long times so not sure how a public option will help that. In fact, one could reasonably conclude, that the problem will be made worse when more people are insured. The bureaucracy in the system is one of many issues that need to be fixed, but “the public option” does not address many of the issues, if any!

The public option will put a strain on he system because we don’t have enough medical professionals. If you want to see a government run health system, check out the VA hospitals. I believe these politicians offer all of this government help to keep the people down and dependent on them while they enjoy lavish life styles. Look up how much a politician makes. They don’t care about the people, they care about their power and how to maintain their power. Don’t fall for people!

there never was going to be a public option…That was all “get me elected” talk. Ray summed it up lovely, these people keep the masses down and dependent, so they can be easily manipulated and controlled.

It is interesting to see how some people say others are misinformed but they are misinformed as well. The public option is a necessary situation for many people who loose their jobs, recent graduates who are kicked off of their parents insurances, and for people who have insurance through their jobs however, their insurance company wont pay for a necessary medical expense. IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY! The public option is recommended so that no one is denied the medical service that should be offer in well what I thought to be the MOST POWERFUL country in the world. It is sickening that people are denied the right to be treated. This country basically puts people in the have and the have nots, with the people not making a million dollars or more in the have nots. Remember, we complain about a public option however, the US ranks 33(!!!) overall in the world in healthcare while countries like England and Canada rank higher than us with their government run healthcare system.

Excuse me Sincerenow, but its illegal for any medical institution to deny care to any individual no matter the circ**stance. This is why you even have illegal aliens who are able to get care if they walk into any hospital in the country. Tell me, do you even know what the option is? No one has spelled out what it is exactly, yet you have made up your mind that this is something that is so desperately needed? I think you need to do some more research, and when you do, try to look at an informed opposing view and perhaps some real concerns will be raised in your mind concerning this program. There is no doubt the healthcare system is severely broken, but having the Govt providing the option will NOT work. Look at the other programs the Govt run and see how they are working. Do you really think the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT can run any program with efficiency, that will truly cover the needs of the masses?(They couldn’t even get cash for clunkers right). If you really believe that, you have not been paying close enough attention to Government over the past several decades. Mr. Obama can’t change that, this is why you see him back peddling on this public option right now…

@Chictatious..We all know that she has no real say in policy, but its very telling, that the wife of a President is expressing some doubt about a program her husband is so called fighting for, pubically. If this is not so strange, please point out another time this has happened…I’m not saying it has NEVER happened, I just can’t recall a time when it has.

This guy “_A_” is probably not a black person. There has been many people creating profiles as a black person to steer our views in the wrong direction. That is the same thing we as a people have been going through time, and time again. This Public Option is being put in place to “chin check” the draconian insurance companies that have been charging us way more than required. Look up how much in profits they have been getting! For instance, if I only went to the doctor once every 6mo. for the last 3 yrs, where does my money go? Do I ever see it? No IDIOT! I mean c’mon now, you can look at this from a simpleton’s perspective and see there is something wrong! The lobbyists control the republican party, plain and simple. Why would they cut their “money tree” down? Also, I’m an entrepreneur, and that means I own my own business. I want to be able to have affordable insurance for my family. I’m paying out the azz now because I don’t have thousands of employees… The PO, would work in my favor, and the favors of anyone who don’t (want to) work for the “man”. Last time I checked, everyone’s getting fired by “the man”, and I can’t fire myself… Who cares what they say about the long lines, I never have to wait when I go, so that’s not even truth. What do you think appointments are for? When you have insurance, you don’t go to the hospital only in emergencies… that’s what checkups are for! Wake up, regardless what side your on! SEEMS LIKE THE RACIST TEA BAGGERS PARTY WILL SIT IN THE BURNING HOUSE WITH A CAN OF GASOLINE RATHER THAN GETTING TOGETHER WITH SOMEONE THAT WANTS TO PUT THE HOUSE FIRE OUT.
